Every fruit tree in my yard I grew from seed I have 7 mango trees 4 avocado trees full of avocados 2 ciruela trees both red 40 pineapple plants 2 varieties 1 long pineapple 1 short pineapple 10 sour orange trees 3” sweet bananas over 10 plants 30’ tall 1 Keit tree grown from seed all on not even an acre . Every year we eat fruit these trees produce well in my area I’ve grown peaches & mamay all on muck soil . Here is the biggest plus none are graphed but they did come from graphed fruit trees . My father told me when I was a young man if you can’t eat it don’t grow it when times are hard you can’t eat flowers. Love the video !

There are actually a lot of edible flowers, and they also attract pollinators. Adding the right flowers makes a great garden.

All I hear about this place is how nasty they are to customers...I called recently with a list of 10 mango trees I was looking for and they said no to each. So I got them from Love, Jack and Beanstalk and Incredible Edibles. 5 years and 62 fruit trees later have never even made it to excaliber due to their bad reviews and them never having what I call and ask about. Also they quoted me $350 delivery fee and I don't live that far. I pay zero delivery from the aforementioned 3 nurseries

they grow too slow and with my health issues I'm not likely to see a normal small tree get to fruiting.

I went to Excalibur to buy fruit trees couple of years ago and here is my experience. I started talking to a woman (maybe this one, maybe not, can't swear) and she was visibly annoyed when I started asking questions about mango varieties. I am always very polite to everyone and absolutely didn't understand this attitude toward me, I was just a customer who came to buy what they sell and I was treated as a nuisance. She took me to mango place and just shrugged her shoulders and turned away from me. I was also looking for a specific tree I wanted and asked if they have it, she showed it to me and said "it's $75" though she said just 10 sec. ago ALL these 3 gal trees are $45. She was looking at me smiling like "what you gonna do? You came for it!" I noticed the tree was not in great condition, a lot of dry leaves and asked why and she again shrugged her shoulders and said maybe too much water. I bought it and it turned out all roots were rotten and it died in the ground. And the cherry on top: the man in the office tried to charge me for 3 trees though this woman clearly told him she brought 2 for me (and I heard this) so I had to argue with him about that. By far the worst nursery experience I ever had. Maybe because I am white, I don't know. If you want to be treated like that go for it.

It sucks that you had that experience. I’ve been to Excalibur and I’ve purchased 4 trees and lots of fruit. I’ve never had a bad experience. The manager, Mike and the staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The older lady (owner) was out one day and we sat and had a great conversation while I wait to be taken by golf cart to see trees.

    Paul,
Please put out more info on the red jackfruit cultivars that your guide, Crystela, mentioned:
    Xain?/Zane?… Red Jackfruit Cultivar
Crystela said that it has deep, deep red colored flesh and really sweet.
    Question: Is the flavor like
    ‘bubble gum’?
    Tony Morris Red Jackfruit Cultivar
Crystela said that this red jackfruit variety is really sweet.
    Question: What about the flavor?
Does it taste like ‘bubble gum’ flavor?
Thank you for this and your other videos.
    You are the Best!

"If you don't pot it up every 4 years..."
How are you going to transplant a giant tree like that....
You shouldn't be potting in the first place if you know you're going to plant it in a specific spot... What was her point in doing this?
THE ONLY reason I can see is because Florida "Dirt" is mostly straight up sand, so having pots is a way to make your own potting mix and allowing the plants to thrive off of that...
But the soil itself could be amended ... Because now we have giant trees who have broken through to the ground below and getting nutrients that way.... I'm assuming they would fertilize the ground too? Or just the pots?`
I have 2 Passionfruit plants in a 200 gallon smartpot growbag, and it went through within a year. AT least, I'm assuming it already broke through as it's over 60-80 feet long. I planted them last March.

    • @FruitfulTrees
      @FruitfulTrees  2 місяці тому +1

This is a nursery and they have many trees in big pots. I did another video about it. Really cool video. But I assume they had all those trees in pots to sell them but they didn't sell it so eventually they went in the ground. I don't think that was their original idea to plant them.
