Felt like they've always had a problem with structuring and they overload themselves i reckon by doing albums, some songs always seem like they need more time to stew, they should stick to eps but i feel the album as a whole is by far their best, just frustrating some songs are a bit ehh

Jon actually does the electronic sound live through a pad, saw them last weekend and it BLEW MY MIND. Musicianship with these guys is stellar.
i think its just regular northlane Drop F, then in the C# section its used with a pitched shifting pedal, like a digitech or something, while the bass justs goes to his high c# so you can still ear the actual note hahha.

Great review man the song is in Drop F and goes down from 4 semi tones at some point. But you can detune it with your axe fx, won’t sound too much distorted!

TO BE CLEAR ABOUT TUNING:
Jon and Josh are using Drop F, but as I remember, Jon said they were using Kemper pitch-shifting activated by MIDI track.
There's no 8 string ma bois.
In the Twitch stream today when they revealed the song, Josh said drop C#
u cant pitch shift more than 5 semitones before it sounds like shit and not genuine. and yeah they said its in double drop c# or whatever

It actually is possible, although it's SUPER hard to keep stability and the tone is glitching out during the flopfest.
@Hatrix If you're referring to that custom order form screenshot, it says that it's a 29.5" scale and 7 strings. No 8 strings.
I just love how they've changed. Mixing such chunkiness/heaviness with ambient/electro/calm atmosphere. They had it before Marcus but now it's even more pronounced.

7:50 If he's talking about the screaming during the chorus (1:38, 2:45), I haven't heard any of Loathe, but the other band I've heard with screams like this is Sikth. The verses on _Behind the Doors_ are a good example of it.

I saw them play this song 6 months ago and it was amazing!!! They have such a great live presence
been listening to this on repeat since it came out yesterday, its shot up as my favourite northlane track by a long way!! Every time i hear it sends shivers down my spine. That breakdown at the end makes me want to crowd punch

Its just nice to hear the trying different chord progressions and hearing marcus be so damn versatile. That bridge tho! The song goes for sale on the 7th. My reaction was the same. I've already heard this song live at their tour last year and it destroys your body. Bass is tremendous and grooves that this song provide are brilliant. I had goosebumps and butterflies in the stomach before and after listening. Just like you fell in love with somebody. Man, I love northlane. Can't wait for their album and tour. Amazing band.

The low fry speech in the first verse actually has two vocal tracks. One of them where he’s doing the low fry thing, and the other one is a really shrill, high whisper. Makes it sound real creepy.

Great tune. Blind taste test: If you told me this was an unreleased Deftones track from some time between 'Around the Fur' and 'White Pony' -- with the opening vocals rising into the screaming -- I would believe you for a second -- before realizing it's a trap.
They are in Toronto in August. The Detroit show is in a little basement venue , I missed the tickets less you want to pay 60 for the vip left.

Your right nik I totally agree with you on that part dude north lane band had a great cool vibe on the clean vocals there and a little bit edgy there in the beginning but overall nice melodies and the verse and Chorus and guitar riffs are so awesome dude loved this band and song that’s super sick I mean the lyrics are cool as well as the guitar parts are heavy like u said earlier and great potential on the song itself great album great vibe to it and nicely smooth sailing on the scream metal core parts in the song that’s what I love actually nik and awesome high pitch tone in the vocals too loved that track great enthusiasm on the Audio track
