Josh Middleton is a solid lead guitarist. He's got a UA-cam channel too.

That solo reminds me of Chuck Schuldiner, always loved that about Josh's solos

Sylosis have death-thrash-doom influences. 🔥🔥 Very very unique and feels like top high shelf metal bands

Josh's phrasing with his lead and solo work is my favorite in all of metal. He manages to incorporate plenty of shred, but he does it so cleanly. Plus, he manages to keep a melodic and tasteful feel so the solo feels right, instead of just mindless shredding. It's fucking great.

Ali Richardson is the drummer, also drums in Bleed from Within. Both amazing bands.

It's cool that Josh Middleton's play style/ guitar tuning in Sylosis is drastically different from his playing in Architects, shows how versatile he is.

Yes, this song is extremely reminiscent of their last three albums, starting with “edge of the earth” which is when lead guitarist Josh Middleton took over vocal duties.

Sylosis is easily one of my all time favorite metal bands. Everything they do is flawless in my opinion. They have perfected the use of epic "sound walls" that you heard at the end of the song. Can't wait for that E Standard video!

Sylosis fan here, check out anything from Edge of the Earth, IMO that was the most "Sylosis" of their albums and a personal favorite. Check out Emphyreal to get an appreciation for Josh's guitar work (instrumental song too), otherwise all their songs are dope on that album honestly and similar to this one you reacted to.

'Altered state of consciousness' from their album, 'edge of the earth'. There is some absolute riff on that song.

I've been listening to Sylosis for a couple years now, and they've quickly turned into one of my favorite bands. This definitely has some similar flares to some of their earlier work, but yet still different. If you want to check out some of their older works (which I HIGHLY recommend you do), some of their better songs are Teras, After Lifeless Years, Empyreal, Behind the Sun, Servitude, Mercy, and To Build a Tomb. Kind of a long list, I know, but as someone who's never listened to Sylosis, you've got a bit of catching up to do. I promise, you will not be disappointed.
