I tried a new UA-cam feature which lets you setup early access to videos for channel members! This was available for 24 hours for members before going public as usual, it's nice that it's built in to the website now, let me know what your thoughts on that are. If I were to continue that, it would not change the current regular schedule of videos, just channel members getting them earlier.
When I was a little kid playing Sims 2 back in 2006, I would stack columns as high as possible, build a rectangle with no windows on top, and then delete the columns so I had a giant floating house in Strangetown. Glad to see the style is finally catching on 😂
I did this in the very first Sims 1 games. You couldn't go higher than a second level so it wasn't rhat high but I always had a floating house with a staircase. My Sims always missed the carpool😂😂😂😂
Yes omg! Totally forget about the pool! It takes me back to the good old days, coming home from school, starting up the old huge computers and sounding like an airplane taking off🤣😅
"We are going blue suburban on this! Oh wait that's taken, that's copyrighted" made me LOL lilsimsie catching strays😂amazing build, inspired me to play the sims again!
the reason why the black columns are so hidden is because the human eye tends to ignore black, hence why some people paint fences black so you can better see though them.
You could definitely get the piano upstairs by using a crane and getting it through those big glass doors. That’s probably how many of the building materials could have been brought up
My old coworker had a tight spiral staircase up to her bedroom like that. Her bed was taken up via the floorboards. I hated going on that part of the floor, I always panicked LOL 😂 (I housesat for her, and took care of her animals, I was in her house a lot)
I once had neighbors who bought a jacuzzi and had hired a crane to bring it over the three story apartment build we where living in. All the ground floor apartments had a garden, but the other side was blocked by a community building. I was really small and my kindergarten was in that building, so I could watch it from the other side.
26:05 the NanoCan Touchless Trash Can has a lid, and if you alt place it inside a counter, just the top shows and looks a bit like a chopping board / pretend inbuilt bin. It's still useable and bonus pays $10 per household sim for trash!
It’s no secret that James is a really, really, _really_ good builder. I just like seeing him do things outside of his usual comfort zone. A lot of his builds are modern style with neutral colors, and they’re great, but I like seeing him use different styles and colors like in this build _sooooooo_ much more
This looks like that one episode of The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes. They featured a house that blends in to the forest trees. The interior’s yellow, it has an awful lot of stairs.
This is very cool! I really really like it, but I think the bouncing camera would drive me crazy in gameplay. Very creative James, and I really like the way you decorated the interior too! 🧡🧡
James: 'if you had this many plants, it would be so annoying' Me: looks over at my 20 plants and all my propagated babies... As a plant lover...there can never be too many plants!
Wow, this is one of my favourite builds ever; the use of light and space is genius and so beautiful; the kids' bedroom with the colours and desk is so smart; the use of colour in the living room and dining room contrasting and complementing the outside landscape with the dark living room for TV viewing and bright skylight for entertaining, it's all so good! I hadn't been keeping up with this channel and most Sims videos in a while and this really reminds me why I love the game, build videos and especially James' eye for design.
I was wondering if using the city living elevators would be a better solution for this build, saves time of adding foundations and stuff to get up there and could look a nice inside the house too. But great work you have there james!
I love everything about this build. The blue really added to the aesthetic, for me. Love the space and brightness of the interior, while having plenty of exterior areas, private & communal. I don’t usually go much for modern style, but I loved the juxtaposition of the stark angled exterior with the warmth and cozy interior. Only thing I might add is a monkey bars down near the swings for the kiddos. Superb build. So glad you were inspired by Bearded Architect’s, as it also looked interesting.
I love the way this looks! I’d actually play with it if not for the camera issue 😂 Also, can you imagine moving into this house? It’d be a nightmare 😂😂
Love this house! it would be cool to play like some sorta rich villan in this house. Also cudos to james for the comitment of rebuilding the house after the game crash. Somthing of this size definitely would be exhausting to rebuild.
I think he did save quite a few times off camera so he didn't lose so much progress. The game was probably saved until the point of the children room furnishing.
Didn't know that existed, but it sounds awesome! I would sometimes make "flying carpet" homes that were just carpet tiles in the sky with some objects on it. Didn't look good but I remember being proud of them xD
This video reminds me of James a few years back that never stopped building and pouring out creative builds constantly. Absolutely LOVE this video and the build!
This house is beautiful and probably one of my favorite builds of yours lately I haven’t been feeling like playing the Sims, but this house makes me want to play.
I mean, my real house sadly can't have a lot of plants, I always kill them by forgetting about them. 😅 🙈 I wish I was a better plant owner. But what he considers a lot of plants is so far from being a lot. 😂 Especially for a sims build. It's quite tame.
This build is like you took one of your old builds from sims 3 into the future and furnished them in the sims 4. So cool and give me so much nostalgia! Would love to see you recreate one of those builds from back in the day in the sims 4! Awesome video James 😎
I believe the term you were looking for when talking about the building being in concrete was "brutalist" ;) Now the video, I loved it and I love the build ! The way you furnished it and decorated is beautiful and almost minimalistic wich suits the build so much.
This was an amazing build James, I will download and only thing I will change is a huge sectional in the living room and a hot tub out on the main area
James you build the best buildings. This one is my top favorite! Though I wish you did the double couch situation next to each other in the living room where one couch faces the windows and the other TV.
this build came out so well! like, I'm legitimately impressed with how great it looks and I kinda wish I could go visit it IRL. what would make this build even better is if we could have elevators because there ain't no way I'm walking up all those stairs every day
oooh love how this turned out, so sleek yet cozy?! I think if I ever download it to play in, I will add the trash chute to the stairwell pillar on the top level though so the sims don't have to walk all the way down to empty the kitchen bin!
James can build as many as he wants and he really thinks it helps the people out, so he is never gonna stop, placing all the sims 4 plants, it's gonna be a great time in his build.
When you put the column in the living space I was begging for it to be a fireplace. I saw a video on an architects home somewhere in America in the 70s. It was wood and concrete and built above the trees and partially into a cliff rock face. It was amazing and it had a central fireplace. Lots of windows, and wood. Can’t remember the name of it tho!
Man,good on you to redo the build after the game crashed,I would’ve just raged quit like the little baby I am😂😭😂btw I like that we can see this first and also I love yours and Deli’s builds,it always inspires me to play and improve my builds☺️I’ve played sims since the first game and watching you two really got me building better homes that my bff4l could use for her gameplay😂anyways keep up the good workloved the video☺️
*Love this build! But, In a home that size, the bathrooms should've been bigger and more luxurious and the random bedroom plonked where it is should be where the living space is. Would make an amazing open concept living/dining room/kitchen! The kids room placement means they have 0 bathroom nearby and a massive tv disturbing them on the other side.*
Cool build. I think that nifty knitting has a blue and pink pegboard that would fit in great in the kids room. I wonder how it would look with deeper balconies for the lounge chairs or rocking chairs? I also wonder how it would look with some low lying plants on the roof? Maybe I’ll play in it one day and make it boho lol
I always do my stairs like that in community lot... But i put some plants in it and the light above the plant, so the stairs is brighter and greenery too...
I think as far as grand pianos go this is actually a really easy house to get it in since you have truly massive windows on the balcony and they'd have used a crane for any second floor movement anyway.
James saying "I'm in my blue era guys, I'm going all blue suburban on this.. oh wait that's already taken" cracked me up, nice nod to lilsimsie at 30:25
This is such a cool build! Also, I would actually love to have the one bedroom that's naturally darker than the rest of the house and looks at the trees instead of the ocean. I love the views all around the house but when it comes to sleeping, I want a dark room. Livingroom balcony could be the smoking area. Chair + small table w ash tray. Household may not smoke but guest wouldnt want to climb down once an hour to have a cigerette.

Why didn't you use an elevator?
I was sad when I saw the video was for supporters only. It was such a relief that we, broke losers, can watch it as well, just a little bit later 😀
@@cheshiresInsight Because you need elevator mods
I think it's a completely great idea :) Win win for everyone. Hopefully it doesn't affect engagement
It's neat! And basically give the people that do extra support a little bit more benefits!

I did this in the very first Sims 1 games. You couldn't go higher than a second level so it wasn't rhat high but I always had a floating house with a staircase. My Sims always missed the carpool😂😂😂😂
I used to do the same thing! A lot of the time I’d also add a pool surrounding the stairs to get up to the house so I’d have a moat lmao
Yes omg! Totally forget about the pool! It takes me back to the good old days, coming home from school, starting up the old huge computers and sounding like an airplane taking off🤣😅

That’s definitely one of my fave James moments😂

the reason why the black columns are so hidden is because the human eye tends to ignore black, hence why some people paint fences black so you can better see though them.
That’s so interesting, thanks for sharing!
I’m guessing it’s something to do with how our eyes perceive light & shadows?
@@loraelstad8941 it actually has to do with contrast, you tend to see darker colors instead of plain white, so it’s easier to ignore
Facts because my eyes did not see my black work pants when I first checked the floor

Maybe the Sims universe has an "IKEA" piano that they construct in the livingroom?

I’ve seen him avoid the bin that pays you money for trash b4, so it may be why he chose not to use that one, despite the lid.
Basement tool tip is a game changer!! Thanks James :)
I came here to say this too! I had no idea you could do that

Ah yes, my favorite genre of James, building bizarre modern tree houses on this particular lot in Windenburg. Love it. Just like the good ol' days 😆
This should definitely be a Max Powers house !
Is he still in his Villain era?? Because this is a good evil lair 😂🩷
This looks like that one episode of The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes. They featured a house that blends in to the forest trees. The interior’s yellow, it has an awful lot of stairs.
Wait you had to fully start over when the game crashed?? Good on you man, i would have given up 😩 Amazing build!
I thought he meant he only had to redo the kids' room and the kitchen.
This is such an amazing build! I've kinda had an artist block in sims, but you've definetly inspired me to get back in to it😍😍
