They grew on you. The convertibles were handsome and the station sedans were cool.

My most favorite Video here!!!! ...as I once owned 2 of the cheaper 4-doors & 1 of the cheaper Super8 Convertible all simultaneously, & truly loved them all, especially their big fat streamline smooth pregnant-elephant bathtub styling!!!! the best fat bathtubs ever!!!!❤❤❤

What a great way to get into a convertible. I'm glad you enjoyed the film. There are more 1948 Packard films on this channel too. Thank you for subscribing.

Not the best looking Packard ever made, but the quality was still there. Thanks for sharing the video.

Is that a very young Mike Wallace as narrator?

      I don't think it's Mike.

He was born in 1918, so he was 30 when this was made - not very young - and he started as a radio announcer and radio actor and was highly active in announcing on radio when this was made. So, in 1948, it could have been him, and the announcer sounds very much like him.

If anything shows the wrong path Packard was on, this film is it. It's shameful for Packard to put out this film. Except for the Custom 8, these are cheap looking, uninspired designs. The Rolls Royce of the late 50's into the mid 60's was so obviously designed after the original Packard Clipper. But, it was designed with knife edge styling, not the excessively round, boring styling of the 48-50 Packard. The lowest, worst image for Packard was the prevalent Taxi of this model. Ugh? What luxury car buyer would want to see his car in a cheap looking, beat up taxi. Disgraceful.

I didn't mind the 48 to 50 Packard but they spent a lot of money on the new style that they couldn't afford. I'd rather that they kept their 47 mode for another few years & put some upgrades on it.
