Hey Tom, great review. But are you sure the exhaust pipes are real? Did you look underneath the car? Audi dealer told me they are still shipping with fake exhaust tips🤮
Great video. I also love the new Ultra Blue and I'm considering trading in my 2019 SQ5 in the near future. I saw another review of this car and it was pointed out that the quad pipes were fake, not real as you state. Bit confused!
Interesting to here it’s a different and upgraded engine over the pre facelift and it kinda help me feel better about the diesel but I think the option to spec with would be nice particularly if they applied similar upgrade to the TFSi engine, it’s about time they Audi utilised their electric compressor on their petrol cars.
As always Tom, enjoy watching your review on this awesome looking vehicle. Seriously looking to upgrade my 2017 A3 fwd 1.4T Sportback with the facelifted Q2 AWD 40 TFSI, the other option would be Volvo XC40 T5, which has similar performance and price point (mid $60ks d/a) to the Q2. The Q2 probably shares most of the driving dynamics with the A3! You recently reviewed the SQ2, I would like to seek your expert advice on the Q2 40 TFSI Apart from the Q2’s lack of “creature comfort” features (i.e. electrical seat adjustment, rear air vent and cup holders), my other concern with the Q2 is that it only has a tyre repair kit, not ideal if you take interstate road trips, which I often do.
Looks are one thing. Substance is another. The Audi has far more supportive seats, for one thing. That’s not to say the Genesis is a bad car, because it isn’t.
Nice vehicle! Love the blue/grey combo. Was that a coarse road segment or did it seem a little noisy? I’d occasionally want the option to mute that rear exhaust speaker too! Nice one, Tom.
Hi Tom, great video, keep up the great work. I have ordered my new SQ5 last week and would like your opinion on the sports differential and air suspension. Are they a must have added option or not worry about them. I do do a lot of country driving. Cheers!🍻
What a beautiful car. I think sometimes I wonder about is the TDI version suitable for short drives. Does it have a DPF? When my mum wanted to upgrade her Q3 I took her to MB and helped her buy a GLC300 4 MATIC because she was so accustomed to petrol and doesn't really do too much driving that isn't just to the shops and back. Would the diesel engine become unhappy with that style of driving? The 2.0T 190kw isn't the most efficient by any stretch for city driving. Definitely can say when I drove the Q3 and when I drive my own MB with the dual clutch setup, the regular transmission MB have designed seems to be much less jerky and smooth. Seems VW and other car makers are beginning to go back to automatics and ditching the dual clutch setup.
0-100km/h in 5.1s with the economy of a small 4 cyl in a hefty 2.3 tonnes is brilliant. Pity it's a goofy looking SUV. In full black or dark emerald it's passable.. just. It's not cheap that's for sure and comes with a $4K delivery charge and the $10K nice car rip off tax before the other taxes.
@@StephenFogarty2023 I don't blame Audi at all but I simply refuse to pay the exorbitant rip offs on any car. This is a $70K car everywhere else so be damned if I'm paying over $100K for it here where one really is not getting what one actually pays for. For that money there are far more exciting and better looking cars to choose from.
I bought my mother a GLC300 4matic new a year ago fully optioned. It was $115,000 and I negotiated $89,800. Lovely car, 6.0 seconds to 100. Just a bit thirsty around the city with its 2.0T.
@@StephenFogarty2023 Strongly disagree on the dealer delivery charges. The fact other manufacturers also charge a $4K dealer delivery fee in no way justifies the practice. I was looking at an SQ2, $64K rrp sounds ok, however this balloons out to just over $72.5K on the road, no options, and a $4.5K dealer delivery. If car manufacturers & dealers need an extra $4k, then it should be in the rrp of the car, not slyly added on after the fact. Perhaps it should be law that car companies are not allowed to advertise RRP pricing and should instead only be allowed to advertise drive away pricing, suggest this would quickly stop the exuberant fees being charged. Yes you can always shop around and haggle etc but that completely misses the point.
@@lukiejames Wow, $25K off list. Nice one. Just goes to show the markup they have to play with. Juicy profits to be had from those that don't haggle and simply fork out list price. The price of many makes of car in Au is getting a bit silly with manufacturer markups plus the blatant tax, duty and excise theft. Strangely not so much with motorbikes tho, with the odd exception we pay pretty much the same as the UK, EU and USA proving the whole 'small volume market' excuse is total BS.
Wish Skoda had this motor in the facelift Kodiaq VRS instead of the lame 180 kw petrol. Would be brilliant. This is nice but you pay for it and exterior design still seems a bit behind the others as looks dated now i.e Cupra Formentor springs to mind. The SQ8 looks so much better.
I'm sorry i just can't accept any sort of artificial sound . its just stupid , i would rather hear the actual sound of the car no matter how uninspiring it is
Speak for yourself. Anyone in Australia that owns an EV and wants to travel over 300kms from home better learn how to push it to the next charging station.
Welcome back, Mr. TDI!
I love the diverse locations you come up with for these shoots.
Hey Tom, great review. But are you sure the exhaust pipes are real? Did you look underneath the car? Audi dealer told me they are still shipping with fake exhaust tips🤮
Unfortunately those quad tips are just for show as the car has its exhaust behind them point downwards. Still looks awesome though
Nice video. This diesel engine sounds much better than I thought.
Good to see a nice colour combo not just greys and blacks.
Great review and an awesome car. $!35K MRP (redbook) here in NZ. Going to need a lotto ticket.
This thing is on my short list.
Love it. Good size. Quick. Comfy.
Thank God they have a real SQ5 with a real engine
Great review. I’ve had a string of S3s, and the SQ5 could be the next in my garage.
Diesel every day❤❤❤
Nice review Tom, that Audi blue matches the blue of your classic Seamaster.
Thanks Cameron. It's a nice blue.
Diesel every time thanks, we get to use the torque each time we touch the throttle. NO ONE uses max bhp without incurring a please explain from Plod.

Look forward to.

Love these, and the blue looks cracking 👍🏻
It really does.
Hi Tom, nice review, can you do a comparison bewteen this and jaguar f pace, D300 se please
You've been critical of the Genesis GV80 3.0 and I think the interior looks much more premium compared to the previous and present Audi
Looks are one thing. Substance is another. The Audi has far more supportive seats, for one thing. That’s not to say the Genesis is a bad car, because it isn’t.
Great review Tom. Does the SQ5 come with a stronic box or the ZF?
The only reason I would choose this over pre facelift is for petrol savings. Other than that the petrol is way better
Nice car ... just waiting on the lottery to call.
Great all round car. Does everything well . 👌
And as modern turbo diesels go, a simple flash tune will net another40-50KWS and oodles of rich torque!
Lots of potential. Very strong in stock form.
What is it with the car reviewers and exhaust tips? You guys are the only one that care if those are fake or not

Hi Tom, Love the new SQ5, will you be doing a 0-100kph timed run at any time in the future? Cheers 🍻
But the exhaust remains fake?

Buddy I have a 2018 SQ5 with the air suspension. I think it’s a must have option.
The overuse of chrome is an eyesore. The 2020 TDI version looked nice without much chrome

Impressively audi even got rid of touchscreen climate control system😂
Now That's some amazing change👍
Since most of these SUV are heavy on weight I would personally choose TDI for peace of mind on fuel costs.
TDI makes sense for now
@@chasingcars Here in South Africa diesel has been enjoying price cuts yet petrol keeps on going up and up and up
3 years of warranty? 😔😔😔

Tom, you almost seem disappointed in yourself for enjoying the sound of the external sound actuator!
Love big diesels, nice car, although expensive af in my country
Petrols rev almost as low as a diesels now, u might as well get a diesel.

The Kodiaq has a transverse motor. This motor is mounted longitudinally in the Audi. So it would never work.

Just yuck! A diesel dinosaur. If you must have a SUV thing this size, just buy the Macan.
