Got to love those opens where a player doesn't leave troops on capital. As a rule of thumb for anyone playing meta settings, your priority should always be 1. Defend capital 2. Take Bonus 3. Attack another player. If the only thing you do all game is defend your capital, you should place higher than any players who don't follow this checklist. Taking bonuses or breaking other players won't give you a higher placement compared to just defending your capital.

I just won a game against 3 experts and 1 master (as an intermediate) although it did take like 2 hrs I got very lucky with cap rolls and diplomacy and won, and I would attribute it to all the knowledge I’ve learned from you Pete 🙃(and reggie)
The worst part about watching Pete’s streams live is having nothing to watch on UA-cam a week later 😭😂

Playing on computer is such a huge advantage. Playing on mobile there is no way I could have completed the play at 21:00 moving troops after attacking etc is just too slow
For sure. For mobile players I recommend using a 90s or 120s turn timer.

I have the basic free steam risk. I can't find "attack my territory if you need to" is this an add on?
No. It's in the Alliance chat section where you usually ask them to attack a particular colour. If you select your own colour it will say that

You get those by using the alliance feature.
If you are playing with alliances on, when you message an ally and click your own color portrait, it will say "attack my territory if you need to". If you click another protrait it will say "Attack color" so it's your way to message to attack yourself. Great for if your just killed a player and want your "allies" to break your bonuses so you don't look so threatening or for if you want your allies to open your capital.

This game needs more huge maps
One of my favorite big maps is Reverse Classic. It only has 87 territories compared to Europe Advanced's 101 territories but the map forms a figure 8 and none of the bonuses are super choked up (pretty sure the "smallest" bonuses have 3 borders minimum). Definitely prefer the bigger maps where you have more options compared to the smaller maps where if you don't get an early bonus you are at the mercy of the board.

You said bot-out in one of your videos...... Is that the same as clicking the surrender flag? I don't know if it's bad sportsmanship to surrender and leave the game but I'd like to know.
I think it's bad sportsmanship to join a game that you don't intend to play it its conclusion. I also think it's bad sportsmanship to not play to win. But both of these statements take a Kantian perspective on it and we understand that there are many (very good) reasons why people don't always work that way. Overall we want systems that incentivize doing both as much as possible.
