Orange was just terrifying this early, he just got the pocket and jeez. Also green and magenta had much better cap spots, blocking off the bottom section. Orange isn't taking stuff they should. Wow Orange also like, just... did not play to the strength of the hand they were dealt. they should have had this.

Pete, little backseat advice here. You constantly being a horndog for those turn 1 useless caps usually puts you at a disadvantage - you lose out on early bonuses which usually stops you snowballing and then you are not able to address another players that is snowballing too. I think rolling caps turn 1 is ok for content and teaching noobs a lesson to put troops on cap but this usually sinks your game and you will lose midgame if your opponents are somewhat decent, which was not the case this game but has been the case for some older games.
Hot take but I think most times it's better to take a bonus that us +4 or higher rather than a cap in the open, unless it's a really good cap
My style of play on these settings is to try and snowball by sequentially making kills so the game doesn't stalemate. I usually need an open cap for that
