Here in the NY ADK I have put bags of sand, Lowe’s, over the rear axle for some added weight and for using under tires if someone is stuck on ice. A 4X4 is only as good as the traction you get, the front has the motor weight but the rear end can be really lite, especially empty pick up trucks!
@@greenx7527 I have a 2000 frontier, my wife is about to get a 1st gen X. We do a lot of road trips and camping, hiking. There’s not a lot of Nissans represented on YT and IG. Do what makes you happy. People will enjoy watching I’m sure
@@greenx7527 it looks like you’re around VA. I haven’t seen a video of anyone doing the Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route or the Allegheny Discovery Route
the whole “use your floor mats” issue is pretty ridiculous. Seeing someone try to use their floor mats, succeed in getting unstuck, then stop to retrieve their floor mats, and in turn getting stuck again only feet from where they were originally stuck is hard to watch. It’s like some 3 stooges stuff. Good vid, I feel validated, I have all that stuff in my X at all times. One thing I always have with me that you might want to add to your list is weather proof matches or a lighter. Sometimes a fire can save your life.
Really like this set up what size shackles did you use in the rear and as far as the front end did you just tighten the bars and what size tires are you running
tad mellenthin hey man, thanks! So for the shackles I don’t remember exactly what size they are but I got them from 4x4parts.com. In the front I cranked the t bars and the tires are 32s.
Chris H the ones up front? Basically just drilled holes through the plastic and mounted them with the hardware they come with then ran wires to for switches and whatnot
Chris H sure no worries! One thing I would add is get a couple washers to put on the underside of the plastic because the plastic is somewhat soft and I hit a paring deck guard and I pulled one of them out lmao😂 but in hindsight if I had had a washer it would've damaged it more so both options work. A washer will make it more secure, but just the included hardware will allow it to "tear" out and do less damage

Andres Garcia can never have too much protection from those harmful rays😂 also doesn’t show the direction my eyes are pointing so in a video where I’m driving it’s less distracting since I’m not looking at the camera

Hi I have a question about your wheel set up. I have the pathfinder wheels also but it won't fit on my 04 xterra 4wd, did you have that problem also?
Where do you get your parts?
Question, how much lift and what size tire and rim? TIA
Mike Ezell about 1.5” lift and the tires are 32s on 17” rims
Thanks for the reply. I well be looking in that site soon.

Justin Observation something to make a fire is always a good thing to have for sure

Awesome music and video and so helpful, I didn’t know I needed all these things!! Love it ❎
Nice... I also keep a candle in a jar and some matches in my car for the winter
What ditch pod fab did you use to mount them?
I love your x. I have a 2000 x. And want my set up just like yours. What size shackles you have. And were did u get them. ?
Francisco Orengo i got the shackles from 4x4parts.com then raised the tbars in the front. The wheels are from a pathfinder with bfg mud terrain tires
Great tips, one thing to add for sure during back road trips (summer/winter) is some H2O. Nice X!
And some camping
Great stuff. Thanks for the tips!
Hey could you possibly tell me how you installed the light pods? I just bought some for my xterra.
