Yes you can use regular corn syrup and white sugar and I’m sure it was fabulous! If I made my recipe commercially, I would probably use those ingredients to bring the cost down. Brown sugar may give it a more molasses flavor but that could be a good thing 😊
@@sportsters4life Looks great and I subbed. I come across lots of new channels like yours putting out great content, just give it time. I've been following some people since they just started.
“Foamy,” the color of peanut butter. Have you ever tried that wide coconut? It’s my favorite. My Dad used to find it. He was a farming-rancher. He had a box with bunches of candy, probably 8-10 bags. They were smaller then, it was the 1950’s, or early ‘60’s. Happy. Holidays!🎄🎁⛄️🎄
@@sportsters4life really? It doesn't make any difference? I watch this other channel that focuses more on candy and they are kind of confusing about when to add them tbh 😂 ik they say to add raw nuts earlier tho. Kinda wanna try both ways n see.
It has an effect on the brittle that gives it carbon dioxide bubbles which is the texture that we associate with brittle. Otherwise it becomes more like toffee
@@53sheri I use Kirkland butter from Costco. Each package contains 4 sticks of butter. Each stick is 4 oz, 1/2 cup. I guess I misunderstood your comment about half sticks of butter. My apologies 😎

Yummy!! Thank you for this recipe! Can you use salted cashews as well?
Absolutely. I am on a low salt diet so I use unsalted.
I used this recipe and tripled the cashews and it's great. Perfect with hot popcorn. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. I may have to triple the cashews and try that too 😋
Thank you, it looks delicious gonna try this next month!

Wide coconut? Have not tried coconut in the brittle but it does sound tasty 😋
I just got done making this I'm waiting for it to cool 😁
I’ll have ago at this at the weekend 👍👍👍🇬🇧👍👍👍

Looks yummy 😋 🌈🦋🌈🥰
Soooo good 👍, Gotta go give some away or I'm gonna eat the pan 🔥🔥🔥
❤❤ super buttery ❤❤
That’s the side affect to making a great dish!
I added some light brown sugar, and topped a small portion with pieces of orange slices. And, another section with chocolate Chunks. 😉 😊 🍫 🥜
Mmmm, ow that sounds good 😋
I have crushed cashews, but mine are salted. Is it okay to use salted or will it mess up the recipe
You can use salted nuts. I would just leave out any added salt to the recipe.
Was the 1 cup of butter or 1 stick
It’s 1 cup or 2 sticks of butter
Add nuts when it reaches boil if they are raw correct?
I usually use raw nuts. You can use roasted too, just add them at the same time as you would raw nuts.

Today is the day I'm going to make this but I'm gonna try pacans I'm hoping It will still be OK I think it will be 😁
Pecans are awesome in this recipe! The pecans will give the brittle a darker color and the flavor is great!
I wish you would have a written recipe.
Why baking soda?
It has an effect on the brittle that gives it carbon dioxide bubbles which is the texture that we associate with brittle. Otherwise it becomes more like toffee
@@sportsters4life Wow. Interesting thanks for explaining that to me. I will definitely try it. 👍
I just got cashew at whole foods...
No vanilla?
No vanilla for this, concentrated on buttery flavor
What about the corn syrup
You add the 1 cup of light corn syrup with the sugar.
Those are half sticks so it's not a cup of butter.
I used two half sticks of butter, which is 1 cup.
@@sportsters4life 2 half stick of butter is 1/2 cup. Two sticks of butter is a cup.

You keep saying pan but ik you mean pot lol
Yep. I have a tendency to speak wrong 😂
@@sportsters4life I find that shit hilarious idk why lmao
