Thank you for this video. I saw it and bought the silicone spatula/thermometer that day. I used it this morning and got the perfect soft snap that we love in our peanut brittle (pulled from the heat at 280 F). Thanks again!
This video proves that you guys are the perfect couple. He cooks. She makes the candy (and this is his favorite). And it takes both of you to get it on the pan. All it takes now is for me to drive to Iowa to eat it.
We do. The total amount compared to how much brittle it makes is pretty small. The baking soda helps so it doesn’t stick to your teeth. Thanks for watching!

@@JohnEatsCheap What was the last thing you added? That powder?
@@AhmadAli-bi9kc A tablespoon of baking soda
@@JohnEatsCheap Thank you 🙂
It does taste amazing! Melt in your mouth goodness!
I bought that spatula after watching your earlier video.
Where did you buy the spatula?
@@MsBucopie I ended up ordering it from Amazon.
Yeahh partymixxx! I remember your party mix vid from last year! Good one John!
The look of the brittle is different than if you use peanuts. Your batch has the look of crunchy peanut butter when put onto the cookie sheets.
Mine Cashew brittle is cooling now!
what the white powder put in last minute?
A Tablespoon of baking soda
YUMMY 😋 CASHEW BRITTLE AMAZING THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟🌟❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME BEAUTIFUL ✨,
Would you mind sharing what brand of cashews you used, because they looked beautiful, and coated with either salt or dry roasted?
We get them at Costco, the Kirkland brand. They are great cashews and a bargain! I believe they are lightly salted. Thanks for watching!
add shaved coconut also for a real treat
I have raw nuts and I can't decide if I should try to roast them or just add earlier...
They will cook the raw nuts. You can add them raw.
Insecurity won't let him shut up.
You use both salt and baking soda?
I just want to confirm, so I don’t use too much sodium.
We do. The total amount compared to how much brittle it makes is pretty small. The baking soda helps so it doesn’t stick to your teeth. Thanks for watching!
Okay, thank you for clarifying, and responding so quickly!
I’m going to make it this afternoon. 👍
Have a great holiday season!
Temps change with altitude, please read the instructions in cook book. FYI.
Where is the recipe?
Rubber spatula to get out of pan seems easier...
How much baking soda?
It’s a tablespoon. Thanks for watching!
The white powder that was added at the last minute, that was baking soda?
@@ARIEL2319a yes. It makes the brittle less sticky and kind of puffs it up a little.
how annoying is he!
Soooooooooooooo annoying.
The guy is so ******irritating😂😂😂
