Best to Worst: 5,3,6,R1,4,7,Solo,2,1,9,8 Honestly 8 or 9 could take the last spot and 3 or 5 could take the best spot depending on the day I watch them.
I’m glad I was a child when the prequels came out. The bitter hatred towards them is so weird to me. They were great movies in their own way. You have to give Lucas props for taking such a big risk going in an entirely different direction with them. Being 7 in 2000 was awesome with Lord of the rings, Harry Potter and the Star Wars prequels all coming out around the same time.
@@TheCarTeen I don’t like Rise of Skywalker at all, but episodes 7 and 8 have some redeeming qualities. It’s not an absolute shit show like what most people are saying. Prequels are just as flawed. Original trilogy is goated and the only truly great Star Wars media. There will probably be some kind of reappraisal for the sequels (TLJ in particular) once people start thinking clearly.
This reminds me of my theatre experience... I didn't hear anyone else reacting but I went with a group of friends and we were laughing at parts because of how ridiculous it was; I vividly remember when Sidious unleashed his Force lightning attack on the Resistance fleet and the bass-boosted audio ripped through us, it was hilarious.
My ranking: 11. The last jedi (0.5/10) 10. The rise of Skywalker (2/10) 9. Solo: a Star Wars story (5/10) 8. The force awakens (5.5/10) 7. The phantom manace (7/10) 6. Attack of the clones (8/10) 5. Rouge One: a Star Wars story (10/10) 4. A new hope (10/10) 3. Revenge of the sith (10/10) 2. Return of the jedi (10/10) 1. The empire strikes back (10/10 To give some context: Yes, The last jedi is REALLY a 0.5/10 for me, this is not trolling.
I did as well and it was amazing because as soon as he said I a raid shadow legends add played and I kid you not said “I am the lord of thunder” and it was so seem less that for a second I thought it was a sponsor segment 🤣
The biggest crime of force awakens for me is i felt literally nothing when Han Solo died. He had been my favorite character in anything when i was a kid and his death felt so empty, forgettable and meaningless. I still forget he even died on screen today 😂
I understand where your coming from, but I remember just feeling pissed that he went out like that 😂 he’s also my favorite since I was like 5 years old
11. Rise of Skywalker 10. The Last Jedi 9. Force Awakens 8. Solo 7. Phantom Menace 6. Attack of the Clones 5. Rogue One 4. A New Hope 3. Return of the Jedi 2. Empire Strikes Back 1. Revenge of the Sith I enjoy AOTC and TPM more than Rogue One, but I do have to say that Rogue One is a better movie
Rogue one is amazing. The battle of scarif is one of the best space battles ever, the writing and acting is stellar. Darth vader is terrifying and used perfectly. It's beautifully shot and mature. I would almost put it at no1 but ESB is just that much better. I don't get the appeal of "oo flashy lightsaber fight so good movie".
Well I disagree with some of these placements I love how you are completely honest about your thoughts with Star Wars. Honestly you are the only real Star Wars channel I watch.
Respect the opinion, but how is Rogue One ranked so low? 😭 It’s the best Star Wars movie IMHO that captures everything Star Wars was supposed to be perfectly 👌🏼 Being next to solo is blasphemy!!!
Wait, what? How can Star Wars be meant to be anything else than Lucas’ trilogies? Anyway, it is indeed a good movie, and the best Star Wars film Disney’s given us, but still, it is beneath the Original and Prequel trilogy in my opinion.
In no way is Rouge One a good movie. It’s literal soft porn for Fan Boys. Pure fan service. ,,hEy LoOk, tHeRe iS vaDer sLaugHteriNg rEbels wiTh his CoOl liGhtsaBer. Oh wAit, ThErEs C-3PO aNd R2D2!!! WooaH! OmG, iS thAt princEss Leia??!?” The characters are boring and seem like they’ve settled with dying from the beginning. You’re just not getting attached to these with these characters in any way. And the only exiting part of the movie is the third act, for which you have to sit through over an hour of little mention worthy action.
1: The Last Jedi 2: The Rise of Skywalker 3: The Force Awakens 4: The Phantom Menace 5: Solo 6: Rogue One 7: Attack of the Clones 8: A New Hope 9: Return of the Jedi 10: The Empire Strikes Back 11: Revenge of the Sith Just joking, it’s the opposite!
To be fair, I really didn’t like that Snoke thing. To have him set up, just to be killed for near to no reason, it just felt like a huge waste. Instead of bringing Palpatine, they could’ve had Snoke be the imposing villain who’s continuing the legacy of the sith, with the final order under his command.
I'm glad to see Andrew be honest about his thoughts about Star Wars. It's a nice breath of fresh air in this toxic landscape known as the SW community.
I feel like this and the lore master are the only channels like I could talk about Star Wars without it being a pissing contest these days just saying you like the clone wars, and/or the character of Ahsoka is enough for you to get dog pilled…
@@tomtripp5417 yeah they’re pretty good, but sometimes their comment sections could be a bit rowdy, but of course that’s not the people who run the channels fault…
Ranking Revenge of the Sith at No.1 is the ONLY acceptable ranking. What a based choice Andrew! Let's gooooo! What a list! This is honestly one of the best Star Wars rankings I have ever seen. Thank you, Andrew. Thank you so very much for giving George Lucas the utmost respect he deserves, for expressing the love the Prequels absolutely need. I also appreciate the respect you showed to Rian Johnson for actually doing something different, which the Sequels desperately needed! Most of all, I loved the detail in which you gave your takes and the thorough passion you presented. I mean it when I say I am grateful for this video. God bless you Andrew. You are the best :)
Kids LOVE Jar Jar Binks! And that is what George Lucas intended. He succeeded in his mission with that character, and fans don't seem to understand that. Thank you for showing Jar Jar love, Andrew - I also adored Jar Jar as a kid (and still do!)
I was 5 when I saw Phantom Menace in theatre with my family and I remember hating Jar Jar. After all these years, still do. Just like Ewoks, Jar Jar killed Star Wars. Tho I'm a big Jawa fan! Thank god for the Old Republic, New Republic and Darth Bane trilogy for their mature stories and taking Star Wars seriously.
When I think of the Ewoks, I can't but think of The Famly Guy version where the Ewoks are cooking the stormtroopers after the battle and the rebels are going "hey, what are we eating?" 😂 .........because you know, they totally would 😂
yo you never heard of me or seen me but i just wanna thank you for being my hero when i was younger i alwase watched you and your old intro was the best man you need to get it back but thank you man
1. Revenge of the Sith.❤ 2. Attack of the Clones.❤ 3. The Phantom Menace.❤ 4. The Empire Strikes Back. 5. A New Hope. 6. Return of the Jedi. 7. Rogue One. 8. The Force Awakens. 9. The Rise of Skywalker. 10. The Last Jedi. 11. Solo.
Honestly, Force Awakens and Rogue One are both genuinely good movies. The only thing that I personally think makes a lot of people hate the Force Awakens is where it led, and that makes perfect sense. I do think it’s a totally solid movie, though.
It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t any better than the first 6 movies. Not having Luke in the first 99.9% of that movie was a huge missed opportunity and made absolutely no sense. Give the people what they want Abrahams set the sequel trilogy up for failure from the get go… Star Wars isnt suited a mystery box style story
For me, I've gotta say 9, 8, 7, solo, 2, 1, 6, rouge, 4, 5 , 3 but sometimes I switch between 3 and 5. I should also mention how I still can find enjoyment in 2 but I really don't like anything about solo so there's a huge gap of approval between those two on my list.
1. Revenge of the Sith 2. A New Hope 3. Rogue One 4. The Phantom Menace 5. The Empire Strikes Back 6. Attack of the Clones 7. Solo 8. The Last Jedi 9. The Force Awakens 10. Return of the Jedi 11. The Rise of Skywalker I love how iconic some films are, but I always prefer a movie that has its wheels turning for story. I love Empire and Return, but so much of those movies are just vibes and action, not that much going on in terms of plot, characters, or politics. Yeah, Luke was learning the Force and Han and Leia were falling in love and Vader had good in him, but the depth behind most of those things came from other newer movies. A New Hope was genuinely setting up a universe while crafting all these captivating dynamics between characters. It has so many interesting little character interactions that make it feel real in ways the other two don't come close to, so it's still the most interesting of the originals to me, even if Empire is prettier to look at and Return is more emotional. Return is genuinely boring to me outside of the emotion of the throne room, which only doesn't feel like an asspull because Revenge of the Sith exists now and yeah I guess the guy who blew up a planet and tortured Han without even asking any questions did have a bit of good left in him. Awakens has a bit more to like, with Han being a surprisingly great mentor character as opposed to Luke who you'd expect. Finn and Rey were cute to watch, and Finn vs Kylo was kind of heat - cowardly grunt vs prideful leader. Gotta love that Falcon chase scene, and the snowy forest had me spamming IMAX. It's otherwise a little dumb, a little JJ-core, a little blank behind the eyes. Another Death Star doesn't bother me half as much as the brain dead self-report comparison they do in the movie as a joke. The humor was often just immersion shattering. Last Jedi is one of the most interesting Star Wars films ever made. It felt like it was actively mocking my investment in its genuinely interesting themes, and then it just cops out of everything, having Leia and Yoda show up to explain how characters are wrong when they could have just learned the lesson like they would in a movie with good writing. Smart ideas, dumb writing, great directing, awful direction. Truly an enigma of a film. I love it but I hate it at the same time. Again, truly awful immersion breaking humor. Empire is a great film that focuses on a lot of great elements to expand mindfully on what we saw in the first film. That makes it superb as a sequel, but it doesn't have the same standalone appeal other movies do. Aside from a major reveal and a few iconic philosophical moments, it's sort of a nothingburger film that relies on superficial tension that isn't there when you've seen it a hundred times. Still great film making, funny, atmospheric, and visually arresting... just not that interesting under the hood. I have to be in the right mood to fully enjoy it. Phantom and Rogue just have a lot more going on with the characters and shifting galactic paradigms that make them so much more engaging to watch on repeat. I hope I've sufficiently answered for my crimes.
My ranking (I also may have controversial opinions) 1.Revenge of the Sith 10/10 2.Empire Strikes Back 10/10 3.The Force Awakens 9/10 (Because it was my first Star Wars movie in theaters and it’s not as bad if you ignore 8 and 9/I don’t let other movies ruin my enjoyment of another) 4.Rogue One 9/10 5.Return of the Jedi 9/10 6.A New Hope 8/10 7.The Phantom Menace 5/10 8.Attack of the Clones 5/10 9.Solo 5/10 10.The rise of Skywalker 3/10 (The only reason it’s not the worst is that half of its problems are because of the last movie) 11.The Last Jedi 2/10 (Honestly one of the WORST movies I’ve ever seen. Just as bad as Bayformers or Minions. Snoke is nothing, Rey doesn’t learn anything, Luke wasn’t Luke, you heard it all before). It’s like TFA and the other movies didn’t even happen. Bonus Round -Clone Wars movie 2/10 -Clone Wars show 9/10 -Rebels 6/10 -Mandalorian 8/10 -Boba Fett 5/10 -Ahsoka 5/10 -Obiwan 2/10 (Not even the effects were good, probably the Worst show I’ve ever seen)
Great video mate! I love how you mentioned the scene where Anakin and Padme look out the window in ROTS because that's personally my favourite Star Wars movie scene. Also love the Tusken Raider scenes in AOFC, just the look on Anakin's face when Smee dies gets me every single time.
Return of the Jedi has always taken the top spot for me. It is everything a finale should be. It actually caps off the characters and the story and the emotional final duel adds so much depth.
I find it hilarious that I more or less agree with you. However, I can't rank Solo as I've never seen it and I'd honestly rank The Force Awakens higher than The Last Jedi just based off the nostalgia value because it felt like I was a kid in the early 2000s again, watching A New Hope and experiencing Star Wars for the first time. And, to this day, I can still remember the layout and the reddish-orange wall of the carpeted conference room I was in at the time. I would probably rank A New Hope above Revenge of the Sith, though, but I haven't watched the movies in years so I honestly don't know.
Nothing controversial here. As a life long Gen X Star Wars fan I have to say that this list is bang on. Episodes I -VI should always be in the top 6 (regardless of order preference) followed closely by Rogue One and Solo a distant 8th. The Sequels are dead last, and don't exist in my "head canon" and deserve to be "Willowed".
9. Rise of Skywalker 8. Force awakens 7. Phantom menace 6. Attack of the clones 5. The last Jedi 4. Return of the Jedi 3. Star Wars 2. Revenge of the sith 1. Empire strikes back
I have a similar list, however, I add the extra live action films: 1. ROTS 2. ROTJ 3. TESB 4. AOTC 5. TPM 6. ANH 7. Rogue One 8. Solo 9. Ewoks: The Battle For Endor 10. Caravan of Courage 11. Holiday Special 12. TFA 13. TROS 14. TLJ
Here's my list from favorite to least favorite: 1. Revenge of the Sith 2. Empire Strikes Back 3. A New Hope 4. Rogue One 5. Return of the Jedi 6. The Phantom Menace 7. Attack of the Clones 8. The Force Awakens 9. Rise of Skywalker 10. The Last Jedi 11. Solo I won't go into what I like and dislike about each individual film one by one, but I'll put a few factors that explain why certain movies are in the positions they are. - I was introduced to Star Wars by the Lego games, so I pretty much already knew all the major plotlines before seeing any of the movies - Revenge of the Sith was the first Star Wars movie I saw, and it was because it was the only Star Wars movie my family had on DVD. Why? Idk honestly. - As many problems as I have with the Sequel trilogy, they at least have enjoyable action and scraps of interesting characters. I felt bored with much of Solo and it's the only Star Wars movie that I felt wasn't needed due to the type of story it's following. - I personally never had that much of a problem with Jar Jar as a character. I had a period of time where I basically let other people's opinions of him dictate mine, but I've grown beyond that. - The prequel movies in general had cooler battles and cooler planets IMO - Revenge of the Sith has the best score, don't at me!
1: The Empire Strikes Back 2: A New Hope 3: Rogue One 4: Return of the Jedi 5: The Phantom Menace 6: Revenge of the Sith 7: Solo 8: Attack of the Clones 9: The Force Awakens 10: The Rise of Skywalker 11: The Last Jedi
@@sneakyraven9665 I don’t like the beginning of Revenge of the Sith, it’s too silly imo. If I was just judging it by the third act RotS would be 2nd. Also I don’t particularly like Anakin, he’s a good character and Hayden is great as him but I don’t like his personality. The Phantom Menace is high because I love Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn.
@@Lilac-and-GooseberriesPersonally, ROTS is my favorite Star Wars movie, but I do understand if someone might not like it as much. But saying a movie that is 90% politics and shitty CGI is better than it is outrageous… It’s unfair!
This is a solid ranking! I’d personally rank the movies as follows: 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. Return of the Jedi 3. Revenge of the Sith 4. A New Hope 5. Rogue One 6. Attack of the Clones 7. The Phantom Menace 8. Solo 9. The Last Jedi 10. The Force Awakens 11. The Rise of Skywalker
I'll share mine as well: ANH > ESB > ROTJ > TPM > Rogue One > ROTS > Solo > AOTC > TFA > TLJ > TROS That's my ranking. Probably not the most popular one, but that's just how I feel.
1. Attack of The Clones 2. Phantom Menace 3. Rouge One 4. Empire Strikes Back 5. Return of The Jedi 6. Revenge of The Sith 7. Solo 8. A New Hope 9. I've haven't seen the Disney Movies.
My ranking w/ explanation 11. Attack of the clones, poor visuals, poor CGI (all prequels), bad dialogue, slow boring story, doesn’t feel like Star Wars. Also barely any clones in it despite the name, which is a missed opportunity look at the animated show 10. Solo- really solid story, good action and fun watch, good acting. Poor camera work. That’s the only real con. It can’t be like the others just because the others have huge impact on the universe 9. Rise of skywalker- wacky set ups, unexplained (for now, shows and more movies will help just like prequels). Good visuals and fun little Indiana jones like adventure. Refreshing for a Star Wars film 8. Phantom menace- fun adventure, similar issues to other prequels but better. Unique for a SW film and tons of memorable moments and parts. Poorly made, Lucas is not an amazing film maker. 4 different plots at once is so jumbled 7. Revenge of the sith- same issues as other prequels. Saved by last 25-30 minutes with that groundbreaking shit which shocks on every watch. First hour and a half tho, what even happens? Straight up wacky shit. Good end to the trilogy 6. Last Jedi- takes risks. Awesome What they did with Luke. Realistic and ends his ark well. Continues all character arks well in interesting ways. Kylo is a great character, good visuals. Really everything except kanto Byte casino planet is really, really, really, good. I can’t put it any higher because half the movie is shit. Wasted time 5. Rogue one, best battle scene in any Star Wars movie and one of the best in film history. Both space and ground battle are masterful. Cool crew but characters are kind of forgetful. Idk the names of anyone but the main dudes: I call them “blind force dude” and “badass machine gunner” and “cool droid” this is a great film but first 2 acts drag on a little bit. Still not as bad as revenge of the sith. Also scarif is a great location for a battle, beautiful 4. Return of the Jedi. Great movie abviously, sums up trilogy very well. Just not as strong as top 3. Death Star 2 is a little corny, but really makes sure you fall in love with the characters. Excellent 3. Force awakens. Beatiful, underrated and great camera work. Some of the best music in the whole universe. Begins strong and ends strong, mostly,… space battle was weak on starkiller base. Acting is great, set ups of character arcs; masterful. Everything with characters is great. Delivery when they fire starkiller is an amazing amazing amazing sequence which hits hard. Amazing watch and really great film. Will be respected in 10-15 years 2. A new hope, one of the best introductions to a universe ever. Masterful for its time, introduces force and Jedi and its world so great: such good acting and perfectly cast. Great music. 1. Empire; what can I say? lol
i dont like or agree with all of the takes in here (rogue one is my fav SW movie by a long shot) but im LOVING this video. Andrew is such a refreshing change of pace from much of the SW fan base. genuine honest well thought out and well articulated opinions, but also respectful and level headed.

As a 17 year old, this is my list 1). Star Wars (1977) 2). Empire (1980) 3). Jedi (1983) 4). Rogue One (2016) 5). RoTS (2005) 6). Clone Wars (2008) 7). TPM (1999) 8). AoTC (2002) 9). Solo (2018) 10). TLJ (2017) 11). TRoS (2019) 12). TFA (2015) -P.S. I know that Empire is objectively the best Star Wars film, I just happen to enjoy Star Wars (1977) more. Also, I have TLJ ranked as the highest sequel because if Disney is just gonna bastardize the franchise, at least they decided to do something a little bit different with TLJ (it still sucks though).
They likely borrowed from the Dark Horse comics. In those comics, he wasn't on some kind of life support system, but instead had cloned bodies that he would jump into after his current body deteriorated too much from both age and negative use of the force.
I feel like The Force Awakens was my 8th favourite because Snoke was REALLY intimidating, seeing Kylo for the first time, Finn turning from the dark side, General Hux's speech, Poe being a really good pilot and the return of all the old crew (Liea, Han, Chewie and Luke right at the end)
He definitely did his best despite awful writing. Those movies are the quintessential example of wasted potential. I try my best not to think about them, when I do it makes me very sad.
In 10-15 years people will enjoy the sequels as people enjoy the prequels now. Let’s not forget how much people hated the prequels when they first came out. I’m looking forward to the day sequels get love they deserve because there is some great stuff there lots of people can’t see.
@@ErikCB912 yeah? They also looked like shit, were poorly paced, and barely feel like Star Wars. Attack of the clones is star romance not Star Wars…. And sorry to break it to you but unfortunately kids don’t really play with toys anymore. After age 6 or 7 it’s on to an iPad.
I grew up with the clone wars TV show. For me Episode 1 and 2 were the prequels, while everything after were the sequels for me. Episode 1 is my favourite for nostalgia reasons.
In my opinion it's extremely valid at where it's at, seeing the rest of the list. But I guess that's just my taste. I enjoyed Rogue One but it could never touch 1-6 for me..
There's only a lot of talk about Ep4 being "saved in the edit" and savior Marcia Lucas... Because it's all fake and a lie that has persisted for decades, even though Marcia has debunked this claim. Please stop letting this lie live! It's just a way to discredit George.
im just gonna give my opinion on the starwars films rq force awakens was pretty good kylo's character development didnt go down hill hux was evil as can be han came back the film did harason ford justice and we were introduced to so many memes and THE second biggest laughing stock of starwars besides jar jar finn last jedi would have to be second worse why? i would've prefered if they kept snoke for the ris of skywalker and kylo just started taking his helmet off and started wining like a child hux went down hill snoke died we got introduced to the cringest starwars moment rose kissing finn and sadly luke died and for rise of skywalker goes last when i first saw it it was pretty good however i start hearing what others say and eventually i get to notice to hux said IM THE SPY which sucked tbh evol ray didnt serve much purpose ray seems a bit overpowered at that point and kylo just develops a lust of greed and so he is instruced to hunt down ray i mean the hights of ren i think is the saving grace of the film that and that fight against them the (rey skywalker) BOOOOO that was bad writing also who said you could keep BB-8 and also there is no way you can defeat the grandson of vader the first time you hold a lightsaber ray has been over powered from the start EDIT:i really like krennic as a character but then i heard you say the person who played him is australian this changes my opinion of he he is now in the top 20 best star wars characters original top 50 and now im gonna have to put krennic in my best imperial officer ranking he was originally like 7 now im gonna have to put him at like 2 cuz lets be real you can't bear thrawn
I think I have the same ranking as you! even the bit about watching the battle scenes of ep. 2 and skipping the romance, I never got hooked on ep. 5 though many people say it's the best (as a standalone film it might be) ep. 6 is close to my heart though as it really feels like a proper ending like nothing ever did, and the redemption between luke and vader, it has a dream like quality to me. I didn't even try to watch ep. 9 so i guess it fits as being last for me too

The Sequels...I wathced the opening week....have watched TFA twice....and the other 2 only once...and I have NO desire to watch them ever again. Disney Starwars...hope for the best...prepare for the worst.
I really enjoyed this video. It was just a pleasure to watch. Since you asked, I'll give you my ranking: 11. The Last Jedi (for me the worst because it actively hates on the Jedi traditions) 10. The Force Awakens (unimaginative, meaningless nostalgia-baiting) 9. The Rise of Skywalker (at least it's a goofy kind of fun) 8. Solo (too grimy-looking as you said, but still a fun story) 7. Rogue One (great ending, but takes a bit to get going) 6. A New Hope (just feels a bit too stiff and dated for me today, but the story itself is timeless) 5. The Empire Strikes Back (a bit overrated, but still a classic) 4. Attack of the Clones (I love how epic and unique it is, even if it does drag a bit in the middle) 3. Return of the Jedi (the re-use of the Death Star was a bit weak, but everything else about it is amazing, especially Vader's redemption) 2. The Phantom Menace (Incredibly imaginative, original, unique storyline and solidly entertaining - I saw it again in the theatre for the re-release, it's still amazing) 1. Revenge of the Sith (the most emotional of them all, feels very grand and operatic, and is brilliantly made) Yes, I too am a prequel boy, even though at 42 I'm probablt from the generation that is generally not so prequel-minded. As for the TV shows, I enjoyed Rebels, Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett (I don't get the hate for this) and Asohka (although it took a few episodes before it clicked with me). I didn't care much for Obi-Wan Kenobi and I've only seen a few episodes of The Bad Batch, which I thought was okay. I haven't watched Andor or The Acolyte, neither of which appeal to me.

As someone who also went to a packed theatre for the rise of skywalker the audible groans and boos from the audience was so funny to me 😂
This reminds me of my theatre experience... I didn't hear anyone else reacting but I went with a group of friends and we were laughing at parts because of how ridiculous it was; I vividly remember when Sidious unleashed his Force lightning attack on the Resistance fleet and the bass-boosted audio ripped through us, it was hilarious.
Weird. My theatre loved it, they were cheering throughout

Rogue one is amazing. The battle of scarif is one of the best space battles ever, the writing and acting is stellar. Darth vader is terrifying and used perfectly. It's beautifully shot and mature. How can Star Wars be meant to be anything else than Lucas’ trilogies?
Anyway, it is indeed a good movie, and the best Star Wars film Disney’s given us, but still, it is beneath the Original and Prequel trilogy in my opinion.
Rogue One adds so much to A New Hope.

Or Plagueis surviving Palpatine assassination. Plot twist: he orchestrated the clone wars not Palps and Palps stole the plans.
Also found it stupid that they couldn't bring him Snoke back for EP 9 considering he was "only" cut in half like Maul and he survived
Snoke should have been Sith Jar Jar

This is honestly one of the best Star Wars rankings I have ever seen. Thank you, Andrew. Thank you so very much for giving George Lucas the utmost respect he deserves, for expressing the love the Prequels absolutely need. I also appreciate the respect you showed to Rian Johnson for actually doing something different, which the Sequels desperately needed! Most of all, I loved the detail in which you gave your takes and the thorough passion you presented. I mean it when I say I am grateful for this video. God bless you Andrew. You are the best :)

You’re making me want to rewatch all the Star Wars movies

Great video. I don’t agree with most of the placements but I can respect it. A New Hope is still my favorite.

I love how iconic some films are, but I always prefer a movie that has its wheels turning for story.

Return of the Jedi has always taken the top spot for me. It is everything a finale should be. It actually caps off the characters and the story and the emotional final duel adds so much depth.
That is an unpopular opinion it’s probably #6 for me
Episode 1,3,4,5 & rogue one are above it for me
I find it hilarious that I more or less agree with you. I won't go into what I like and dislike about each individual film one by one, but I'll put a few factors that explain why certain movies are in the positions they are.
- I was introduced to Star Wars by the Lego games, so I pretty much already knew all the major plotlines before seeing any of the movies
- Revenge of the Sith was the first Star Wars movie I saw, and it was because it was the only Star Wars movie my family had on DVD.
- The prequel movies in general had cooler battles and cooler planets IMO
- Revenge of the Sith has the best score, don't at me!

11. Attack of the clones, poor visuals, poor CGI (all prequels), bad dialogue, slow boring story, doesn’t feel like Star Wars. Also barely any clones in it despite the name, which is a missed opportunity look at the animated show
10. Solo- really solid story, good action and fun watch, good acting. Poor camera work. That’s the only real con. It can’t be like the others just because the others have huge impact on the universe
9. Rise of skywalker- wacky set ups, unexplained (for now, shows and more movies will help just like prequels). Good visuals and fun little Indiana jones like adventure. Refreshing for a Star Wars film
8. Phantom menace- fun adventure, similar issues to other prequels but better. Unique for a SW film and tons of memorable moments and parts. Poorly made, Lucas is not an amazing film maker. 4 different plots at once is so jumbled
7. Revenge of the sith- same issues as other prequels. Saved by last 25-30 minutes with that groundbreaking shit which shocks on every watch. First hour and a half tho, what even happens? Straight up wacky shit. Good end to the trilogy
6. Last Jedi- takes risks. Awesome
What they did with Luke. Realistic and ends his ark well. Continues all character arks well in interesting ways. Kylo is a great character, good visuals. Really everything except kanto Byte casino planet is really, really, really, good. I can’t put it any higher because half the movie is shit. Wasted time
5. Also scarif is a great location for a battle, beautiful
4. Return of the Jedi. Great movie abviously, sums up trilogy very well. Just not as strong as top 3. Death Star 2 is a little corny, but really makes sure you fall in love with the characters. Excellent
3. Will be respected in 10-15 years
2. A new hope, one of the best introductions to a universe ever. Masterful for its time, introduces force and Jedi and its world so great: such good acting and perfectly cast. Great music.

Episode nine was the worst. To bring back Palpatine w “ somehow”
I must agree Adam driver carried the sequels
He definitely did his best despite awful writing. Those movies are the quintessential example of wasted potential. I try my best not to think about them, when I do it makes me very sad.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR LEGO STAR WARS gfx FROM AHA IM WANTING TO START A PLATINUM TROPHY SERIES BUT CANT FIND ANY GFX PACKS
smh my bad for the caps lmao
In 10-15 years people will enjoy the sequels as people enjoy the prequels now. Let’s not forget how much people hated the prequels when they first came out. I’m looking forward to the day sequels get love they deserve because there is some great stuff there lots of people can’t see.
No they won’t. The prequels had a consistent story, world building, and had toys/merchandise that sold well. The sequels don’t.
Nobody will ever respect those shitty movies, won’t ever look good
@@realityblood keep crying bro bro. We get you are sad SW is moving into the future and you are being left behind🤣
@@geoschilling I’m literally 16 and you are the first “human” I’ve seen like those movies
As a 90s kid this is the perfect ranking
Why is Rogue one so low though?
Also Force Awakens is NOT a reboot. It's a sequel.
Been here before 2000 subs 🎉
The Acolyte came before everything else so it’s the best!!!
😂😂😂😂no doubt
"YYYYAAAAASSSSS YYYYAAAAASSSSS"

I grew up with the clone wars TV show. For me Episode 1 and 2 were the prequels, while everything after were the sequels for me. Episode 1 is my favourite for nostalgia reasons.
The list is ok but rouge one that low is a crime
I honestly didn't really like it too much
In my opinion it's extremely valid at where it's at, seeing the rest of the list. But I guess that's just my taste. I enjoyed Rogue One but it could never touch 1-6 for me..
@@liamblyck8962exactly, its good but the first 6 movies are too good for it
It isn’t, get over yourself.
@@ModernWelfare_ well it is so shut it
Developing blue screen technologies for the battle on Hoth was groundbreaking all over again!
There's only a lot of talk about Ep4 being "saved in the edit" and savior Marcia Lucas... Because it's all fake and a lie that has persisted for decades, even though Marcia has debunked this claim.
Please stop letting this lie live!
It's just a way to discredit George.
I would love to see your ranking of the TV shows.
im just gonna give my opinion on the starwars films rq force awakens was pretty good kylo's character development didnt go down hill hux was evil as can be han came back the film did harason ford justice and we were introduced to so many memes and THE second biggest laughing stock of starwars besides jar jar finn last jedi would have to be second worse why? i would've prefered if they kept snoke for the ris of skywalker and kylo just started taking his helmet off and started wining like a child hux went down hill snoke died we got introduced to the cringest starwars moment rose kissing finn and sadly luke died and for rise of skywalker goes last when i first saw it it was pretty good however i start hearing what others say and eventually i get to notice to hux said IM THE SPY which sucked tbh evol ray didnt serve much purpose ray seems a bit overpowered at that point and kylo just develops a lust of greed and so he is instruced to hunt down ray i mean the hights of ren i think is the saving grace of the film that and that fight against them the (rey skywalker) BOOOOO that was bad writing also who said you could keep BB-8 and also there is no way you can defeat the grandson of vader the first time you hold a lightsaber ray has been over powered from the start
EDIT:i really like krennic as a character but then i heard you say the person who played him is australian this changes my opinion of he he is now in the top 20 best star wars characters original top 50 and now im gonna have to put krennic in my best imperial officer ranking he was originally like 7 now im gonna have to put him at like 2 cuz lets be real you can't bear thrawn
9 so i guess it fits as being last for me too
1. R.O.TS

7: A New Hope
6: The Empire Strikes Back
5: Rogue One
4: Return of the Jedi

2: Attack of the Clones
1: Revenge of the Sith
Attack of the clones is pretty … In no way is that movie better than the originals…
@@dillonrostorfer202 I just personally love the prequels more then the originals. I know a lot of people usually have Attack of the Clones near the bottom of their list lol
YEEEEES rank the series
I watched the Original Trilogy and the prequel trilogy on their days of release...and usually once a week until they were taken out of the theaters...then watched them a couple times a year since. The Sequels...I wathced the opening week....have watched TFA twice....and the other 2 only once...and I have NO desire to watch them ever again. Disney Starwars...hope for the best...prepare for the worst.
Greta video and list! Having episode 8 above episode 7 is pretty wild to me but other than that, I agree with the list.
Under one hour gang👇
I agree with it an amazing ranking [edit] George did know Luke laiya were brothers sister before return of the jedi
I really enjoyed this video. It was just a pleasure to watch. Since you asked, I'll give you my ranking:
11. The Last Jedi (for me the worst because it actively hates on the Jedi traditions)
10. The Force Awakens (unimaginative, meaningless nostalgia-baiting)
9. The Rise of Skywalker (at least it's a goofy kind of fun)
8. Solo (too grimy-looking as you said, but still a fun story)
7. Rogue One (great ending, but takes a bit to get going)
6. A New Hope (just feels a bit too stiff and dated for me today, but the story itself is timeless)
5. The Empire Strikes Back (a bit overrated, but still a classic)
4. Attack of the Clones (I love how epic and unique it is, even if it does drag a bit in the middle)
3. Return of the Jedi (the re-use of the Death Star was a bit weak, but everything else about it is amazing, especially Vader's redemption)
2. The Phantom Menace (Incredibly imaginative, original, unique storyline and solidly entertaining - I saw it again in the theatre for the re-release, it's still amazing)
1. Revenge of the Sith (the most emotional of them all, feels very grand and operatic, and is brilliantly made)
Yes, I too am a prequel boy, even though at 42 I'm probablt from the generation that is generally not so prequel-minded.
Oh man, we are not on the same page, haha. I'm sure I'll get ripped, but here we go.
1) Empire
2) Star Wars
3) The Last Jedi
4) Solo
5) Return of the Jedi
6) Force Awakens
7) Rogue One
8) Revenge of the Sith
