Excellent review. I'm sold on this based on this review. Thanks !! Now I will order one set for my bike

It would be great if bike manufacturers would standardize on three or four hex sizes which would reduce the number of bits we need to carry with us on the trail.

I agree. And now some of my bikes have a nice of hex and torx. Maybe we need to start carrying toolboxes on our backs when we ride...😉

7:09 but if it's just the outer plates that broke then you can replace them with quick links, but yes if it's the mid links you have to shorten the chain.

What is your intern size of bar, please? Because mine is 17, 6mm and I can't insert the tool inside

I actually don't know. These are PNW bars. Maybe go there and look up the specs.

Most bars are 22.2mm external diameter, which is "standard mtb", but I doubt the internal diameter is standardized. FWIW I use these on my dropbar mtb/gravel bike with Salsa Cowchippers. They work great. In two years I've dropped the same (right side) sleeve/tool twice. Once was after I'd ridden in a skate/bike park with some "hits" and also doing some bunnyhop practice - I didn't even notice they were gone until I passed them on the ground the next lap. Picked them up, put them back in, and they were fine. The second time was on some of the most unrideable gravel chatter bumps I've ever tried to ride. After that initial loss, I now have a habit of casually checking to see that they are still there ever few miles or so, and I noticed the same (right) tool was missing. I was less than a mile away from it, but the chatter was so bad both ways I just rode home and waited until the county graded that road again! As for usefulness, the bacon strips have saved my rides twice on my tubeless tires, and I've been able to help others on group rides secure their saddles and tighten their headsets with the multi-tool. It's light, convenient, self-stored, and can work in multiple bikes if you want it to (just gotta remember to swap them in/out). A real winner!

I have a Pivot mountain bike and these tools do not fit in the handlebars. No amount of trimming makes them fit. They do, however, fit my Salsa cow chipper gravel bike handlebars. It seems that internal diameter of handlebars is not standardized. Good luck to anyone who buys these. You have a 50/50 chance of them working out…
