The sounds in this game hit like no other. I miss this so much
One thing I hate about the new vids it’s just it has no personality, no voices screaming, none of that digital text noises, no personality for the ui. That’s what made the games special
CoD 4 might have started the whole CoD fiasco, but MW2 was the PINNACLE game of the series, this was the height of its popularity. Don't really play any CoDs anymore but so many memories were had from 2007 though to 2012, thank you Call of Duty.

The fact that you hear those two other guys is magical. One explaining to the other who had absolutely no idea what just happened, you don't get that these days.
Yess I couldn't put my finger on why I enjoyed that little exchange so much but this is worded perfectly.
The console gaming industry took off during that era with easy internet access at most households. Most kids didn't own a computer, they had gameboys or a console at most. So yeah, no smartphones or computers with smart algorithms to provide you with some quality gaming content to learn from.
Yes but the game also came out in November 2009 and I think this video was uploaded the same time that year. A few months later the game would turn into extremely toxic player interactions haha , not that I don’t miss it

Love the sincere disbelief and intrigue of the teammates at the end. "the heck was that??" "maaan that was a nuke". No slurs, no shit talking, no one getting mad that the game ended prematurely with a nuke. Just genuine amazement of discovering that this is an actual feature of the game.

It was so simple back then. No drop shot, sliding, fast paced gameplay, no sweats. I miss this game a lot.

People may have different opinions, but, as my first ever CoD game, this was my favourite. I spent half my final year at uni trying to get that stupid Nuke Emblem. 100% worth it.
Andrew Brown I've been playing MW2 since 2012 and racked up over 10 days. Not once have I gotten the nuke in those 10 days until TODAY. I have gotten 2 so far and I am shitting my pants

@@Danjoker. I was just about to say this. Xbox Live - hell, online gaming in general - was a cesspit back then. Multiplayer games nowadays are mostly quiet because everyone's in Discord or party chat. I met some cool people through in-game chat but I don't miss the 10-year-olds throwing around racist/homophobic insults they barely understand themselves.

I know this comment is old now, but this is one of the things I enjoyed most about this clip. Everyone’s low level, there’s no meta builds, the post match chat that didn’t even know what happened, and especially the challenges he got in the chopper gunner that show this was all new - it’s all part of a long passed time

Getting a nuke back then was so easy but still it rarely ever happened. People just didn't know about the harrier>gunner>nuke strat and how you essentially only needed 7 kills (6 with hardline) to get a nuke. Back then people played with completely random perks and streaks and with bizarre weapon setups. Nobody knew what they were doing but everyone was having fun. Later on as people started figuring the game out we saw more and more nukes, so they had to nerf it in later cod games.
That was my strategy, I recorded my Nuke count cause my friends would compete to see who could get the most. I got 75, with my quickest under 2 minutes

I'm still playing the original seems fine. Hasn't been anything from COD like it since, COD4 isn't stand alone and MW2's formula feels significant enough to be separately playable. The original has a lot of non dlc players and I bought the DLC still get games but you have to buy both not just one of the DLCs to find games each version has a separate match making pool on PC.

This does take me back, being on a nuke streak was the most nerve racking thing ever, being desperate not to die haha, the game has some flaws but it was fun as hell for the most part.

I’ve just come across this in 2022 and my god does this take me back! You can tell by how people are playing the game it was newish out and the guys at the end of the match explaining what happened proved it. This game was like a culture back in the day! I didn’t wanna play anything else! I was a very very social person, but if I saw someone had an Xbox 360 OR PS3 and this game, I’d have to have a few games even if there was a party going on 😂 this is the game that got me into gaming again, FPS, Multiplayer/Online the lot! Then followed by OG Black Ops, amazing times with the pair of those games! Hours and hours. And that challenge complete sound, just the sound affects and everything.. many fond memories

People forget why this shit was so good. Everyone sucked so bad at COD back then, even go watch pro players play in 2009/10, its hilarious.
