    Such a great reminder of how important the research is. I remember hearing someone talk about sites like dribble and behance as design porn. You don't get anything out of it but it feels good to look at. But all those new connections you gained from researching the career of Harper brought so much inspiration to tell a story rather than just make something look cool.

      That's a good comparison I'm ABSOLUTELY going to steal for a future video (if only to have fun with the film clips). But yes this was my main takeaway from this exercise was the magic of research. Doubly so when you absorb it all and let your unconscious brain do the work for you. No time for that on this one though

    I saw this on LinkedIn and I thought this was the best out of all 13! I've been trying to animate some mid-modern graphics these days and this is really inspiring! ❤

    Researching Mid-Century Modern for an animated corporate video and came across this. I love your after effects process breakdown. Would love to see more of these. You got an instant like and subscribe for this video.

    Lovely stuff!
    I had never found an approachable and convincing method to replicate that Halftone / CMYK Newspaper Print texture. Not for still images. And especially not for video.
    This one looks pretty good. You mentioned another method that didn't work for you [how can we find it?]. I bet the textured dots were too big, ruining the visibility of the shape layers. Not to mention the small thin text/letters....

    • @TheVideoShopLondon
      @TheVideoShopLondon  11 місяців тому

      Both Ben and Jake have halftone tutorials, both similar if I remember correctly. Also this one (and this channel needs the subs so I'll link to him!) also he has a few other interesting tutorials on different looks which are worth looking at: ua-cam.com/video/uDiF7ep7hW8/v-deo.html
