It’s a bit odd, in similar situations we’ve seen Spartans always use entrenchments or flanks in battles like these. they don’t blindly charge unless they have to. The only instance U can think of it happening is with Beta Company, but only because they were being strafed from the air and they were running into cover when Covenant troops counter charged. But it’s a definite outlier. My only real critique though.

I feel like this is true for all of the 5 Bungie games. from 1 to 3 with Reach being the most "miltaristic" sci-fi game and lets not forget ODST. 343 really screwed up with that premise.
Yeah. When Humanity went from being near extinction to being the most powerful force in the galaxy (Halo 4), the game went from mostly science fiction to mostly science fantasy and really lost a lot of its charm. There was something so raw but exciting about being outnumbered, outgunned, and technologically inferior and still coming out on top.
In the original fall of reach book it had mentioned that each squad had a light for each squad member and I believe what they were doing. Haven't read it in over a decade so take that with a grain of salt but that might play into it from a lore perspective.
@@Void_Wars Kinda funny you say this. Since the books say that Chief was able to run faster than 60kpmh, reaching speeds of 100kmph, but that doing so broke his ankle tendons. Spartans are literally unable to sprint full tilt without injuring themselves. Furthermore, their normal max speed is 60kmph, and they can do so while shooting their enemies with pinpoint accuracy. Spartan Time means that even outside of combat, they experience time 3 times faster. So 60kmph would like look like 20kmph instead from their point of view. Within combat, where adrenaline pushes them below millisecond reaction time, well I can't see a Spartan II or even a III ever tripping. Or at least being noticed tripping. So having Sprint in the game, not only clashes with lore and makes little sense, but doesn't actually improve gameplay at all. If anything, they should have just increased movement speed, like they did in Halo Infinite.
Single handedly doing what triple A companies can't do. Keep up the good work SODAZ these are masterpieces, each to their own. It'll be a very sad day when this ends. Hopefully you can do shorts still of this afterwards
@@konradvest I think the in-universe reason is that all of the multiplayer matches are simulations played out to train Spartan IVs in different scenarios. For live weapons and field training I could see that working, but explain to me how shooting at my fellow spartan is going to prepare me for headshots on the various alien enemies I'll be encountering?

Love the attention to detail in these videos. At 00:38 you can see the rounds counter go down as the marine fires. Sodaz really is one of the best animators I have seen so far, he really seems to be dedicated to his craft

Man, this was such a great animation. Even when content for the games is slowed to a crawl we still have people like Sodaz to give us this great content. And nothing like seeing Spartans in their natural habitat, kicking Covenant asses again and again with no slowing of their stride.

You capture so perfectly the movement and lethality of Spartans. They move swiftly and effortlessly in their heavy armor, as if it was weightless. But at the same time, they hit as hard as a runaway train. It reminds me of that scene in Halo Wars where Sgt Forge and Red Team took on the Arbiter and his elites. These are the greatest soldiers humanity has to offer and your work here conveys that beautifully. Thank you.
Agreed, it feels like we are actually watching superhuman soldiers running at over 35 miles per hour while dismantling their enemies. It's as good as that scene from Halo Legends with Blue Team.

i love how i get this underlying feeling that theres a sense of anger theyre letting out from their loss of the odst spartan. its like not only are they fighting and doing what spartans are supposed to do, holding and protecting the line, but also living and fighting for their fallen comrade cant wait for the next clip with the odst's! i bet itll be just as badass

These are by far the best halo animations I've ever seen. This is going to sound childish but I'm tearing up seeing such quality animations like these especially since halo is in such a dire state. Been in love with the franchise since 01 and having binge-watched all your halo animations to date, it truly makes me warm and fuzzy inside knowing there is still god-tier content like this being made.
This is a love letter to the franchise. It can't get any better than this. There's a handful of artists who resists the death of the Halo franchise. I can't believe that the community is CARRYING a franchise when is the developers, publishers and investors the one interested on doing such job. Many things changed but the will to fight and the will to persist remains. Halo DESERVES a future. We must write, INSIST, BUILD, CREATE, PRODUCE so MICROSOFT gets the point.
Been following this project for a while now and its legitimately inspired me to learn and get into animation. Cannot wait to see the this in full when its done its gonna be awesome!!!
It's no easy feat animating drastically different yet fitting body language and animation to every species. Big lumbering brutes, agile bobbing Skirmishers, and each Spartan quite literally carrying themselves differently.
The immense amount of care and detail you put into these takes me for the full ride, every time. The sound design, the camera movements, the sheer weight and flow of every motion punches so hard. I anticipate the coming of every next wip video more than I do christmas now. Great stuff man.
I won’t say I’m not upset to see that warhammer has driven you away but this is the next best thing and I’m glad that you are still improving and working towards putting out fan animations. You are the GOAT!

As a massive enjoyer of aliens in science-fantasy media, the attention to detail on the very avian, but still humanoid movement and behavior of the Jackals is awesome, and I love how, though the Spartans and ODST are the focus of this, they aren't given stupid amounts of plot armor, and it is very clear they are fighting against a numerically and technologically superior foe, yet are still barely holding on. Your films are absolutely amazing and always manage to perfectly capture the feel of whatever setting they are set in, and this is no different.
It’s awesome how fans and upcoming generations show a whole development studio that you don’t need millions to deliver a well done cinematic or product. It’s incredible how the fans are saving Halo.
I just found all of these and they are incredible! You are the only one other than Bungie, who managed to capture what halo is and should be in a show format. Phenomenal work! Keep it up!

It's really amazing how well coordinated the spartans are. With very minimal communication, they all seem to just work perfectly together.

I can't believe that the community is CARRYING a franchise when is the developers, publishers and investors the one interested on doing such job. Many things changed but the will to fight and the will to persist remains.

It's no easy feat animating drastically different yet fitting body language and animation to every species. Big lumbering brutes, agile bobbing Skirmishers, and each Spartan quite literally carrying themselves differently.

The immense amount of care and detail you put into these takes me for the full ride, every time. The sound design, the camera movements, the sheer weight and flow of every motion punches so hard. I anticipate the coming of every next wip video more than I do christmas now. Great stuff man.

Every time a new one releases, I watch it. Does anyone else start slowly mumbling "Nononono" as the screan starts to fade to black signaling the end of a chapter?
As a massive enjoyer of aliens in science-fantasy media, the attention to detail on the very avian, but still humanoid movement and behavior of the Jackals is awesome, and I love how, though the Spartans and ODST are the focus of this, they aren't given stupid amounts of plot armor, and it is very clear they are fighting against a numerically and technologically superior foe, yet are still barely holding on. Your films are absolutely amazing and always manage to perfectly capture the feel of whatever setting they are set in, and this is no different.
Time literally cannot pass fast enough between these, feels like this is my Halo life support drip like others are saying.
It’s awesome how fans and upcoming generations show a whole development studio that you don’t need millions to deliver a well done cinematic or product. It’s incredible how the fans are saving Halo.
