Now that I am living in my van, we created a review video testing out the capabilities of my Power Kit! ua-cam.com/video/NvxhzqQuz0I/v-deo.html&lc=UgyMRIr9mQsIUMDRfpN4AaABAg
I need to buy stock in EcoFlow... These guys are changing the industry.
Sarah, this was an excellent video--very helpful for understanding the power component of the electrical system!
Rich content. That’s a nice system. 10 kW-hr capacity is an amazing capability to have in your van. Thanks for sharing.
That is amazing how easy it all is with Ecoflow! Those guys were awesome & so knowledgeable! Hardest part was lifting the batteries! Can’t wait to see your next video! Thank you! ♥️
I love this system! The best video! Showing my daughter and her hubby this video who are converting a bus to a home!
And also thanks Drifter Vans for taking the time to help make this special video on the Ecoflow system.
Enjoyed the video. Interesting how it all comes together.
Im surprised they don’t label all the wires going into the power panel….Ask them to do so when you need to trouble shoot you will know what wire is what…..Love the EcoFlow…How long are they out from start to finish on a build
Thank you! My build started in January and should be finished mid April. 😊
WOW! Didn't know Ecoflow had this product. Very well executed.
Great video- very informative. 😊
things have come a long way since my 1962 ford econoline that i lived in for one summer in 1972! i had a mattress , curtains and a stereo system. this ford transit is like disneyland. shaping up great. good luck with it sarah. ill be watching very interesting
Excellent video. Would love one of these in my van
So much great information in one video. I didn't know Ford had a power take off in the driver's seat for accessories. This EcoFlow unit is pretty nice. I bought all the parts for my current system individually and this looks like a nice option for the next one.
Sarah sounds like these guys got things well under Control. It should give you great peace of mind that these guys know what they're doing. Thank you for taking the time To Film this install it is very Is informative. Looks like things are progressing very well for you. I hope this finds you well, Be safe, Looking forward to your next video, Until next time!
Dual alternator is an option on the Transit. The 2nd one uses CCP2.
Awesome video
“It’s not going anywhere” (glances smugly at camera). 😂😂😂 love it. This is so awesome!
👉🚐👍I have watched a lot of Electoral installs and this one is at the top! 👊 Later
Very good info. Thanks!
it’s the greatest battery Hook up I’ve ever seen and it no hard to install thank you for your help and hope to see other install real soon from French Polynesia
Beautiful job - it’s gunna be GREAT 🍻
❤ I like to hear his accent. 😊 Get ready for van life. Excited for you.
Thanks for sharing. Super interesting.
The Volta System is pretty amazing.
Thanks! Very informative
Proper professional installation.
Do it all kit.
That is the best configuration for unprofessional users.
That's a sweet system!
Thanks for the insights.
Gamechanger! Hopefully the more simplified install will be reflected by lower install costs for the consumer, this will be a differentiator for van build companies.
Good morning Sarah I loved this I'm getting this exact set up in the fall for my Rv and my truck camper You and Drifter van's have Explained it so well where I can do this in both of the things I have said thank you both
Can't wait intil you take off on your next endeavor. Really missed you and Rue in your Airstream! Yeah towing is a pain but there's always pros and cons to different setups. Grt8 your living the life of Riley!
We can't wait either!! But I've learned patience is a virtue and our new home will be SO worth the wait!
Plug-in play always nice 😎
Interesting video! Yep I have no clue.. but I showed it to my husband and he’s all.. Wow, nice system. Lol, we all have our skill sets! 😂😂
If this system works well, it will change the DIY experience in a big way. I’m looking forward to your review.
Very nice
Go BLUE!!!!
Nice, great video. I would like to hear about the water heater you are installing.
Nice
This clip was one reason I went for the Ecoflow Power kit - now I have mine.... the Power hub 'top bracket' we can see being fitted (9:00), is actually the 'bottom bracket' - the threaded holes are on the bottom of the power hub, its clear in the template and you can see in this clip that the 'ECOFLOW' stamping on the bracket is upside down in your installation. These guys must have drilled and tapped some holes in the top... hmmmm... just saying...
Awesome setup! So you can recharge the 2 EF batteries by solar and shore power. Will be interesting to see how long you can go without shore power as you set out on your new adventures!
Can you use the EF batteries to recharge or jump your van battery if there if ever a need to do that?
If your plugged in to shore power, and using the microwave or AC, is the shore power the primary power source or the EF batteries? Curious how the hub works with all the power sources to distribute power vs recharge the batteries.
yes, great information. Can't wait! With the new EcoFlow Power system, what are the installed dimensions (width/ length, height) of Sarah's 2 battery system?
Thank you so much this was so helpful. I visited your site as I am installing my solar panels and can’t find a solar gland that will let my cables go through. Do you know where he got yours or did he make his own. Thank you?
Great video. My Power Kit app shows battery not charging with triangle warning icon "Battery short circuit..." Any advice? Also, the alternator is generating but no solar charging input. Thx in advance.
My powerkit was working fine but after being parked for a week, the battery was drained and it will not recharge (via alternator or solar panel). Is there a fuse or breaker that maybe causing it?
Curious how you laid out cable from driver side to the passenger side? Did you go under the floor?
does the van alternator input have it own spilt charge relay switch ? all that would be required is the fuse ?
Thanks for this video. I've been looking at buying this system and install it in a travel trailer (intech terra). Wonder if I could order through DrifterVans and they help with the install?
Yes, they can absolutely do that! Give Kim a call at 248-220-0513 or email him at kim@driftervans.com
What eco flow would I need as a 1 rime purchase. I want a eco flow for my sprinter van but also I want to eventually take it out and use it to power my 4 bed house that is off grid which eco flow would I need to achieve this?
Hi Sarah! Thx for your Video and have fun on your future travels!
i also have a Power Kit Independence Kit but only with one 5kWh battery installed in my van.
Unfortunately, I have noticed that the battery discharges by around 15% within 24 hours without a load being connected.
I started on Sunday around 5pm with 50% capacity.
Yesterday (Wednesday) only 6% charge remaining. No consumer used electricity during this time. Only DC was activated.
Losing 44% of a 5 kWh battery in standby within 72 hours is not really energy efficient, is it? @elee325 reported the same issue here.
what is your experience?
Thanks for great video.... How is this system working for you now that you've had it in a a while? Im hearing of some people having real troubles.
I second that.
As you have had this installed for two months now what do you think
Do you have any idea whether the top or bottom port for the power hub solar connector is positive? I have to cut my solar mc4 connector off to feed through my roof gland and now wondering which wire is positive :)
I asked Kim and he sent me a photo explanation! Send me an email and I will forward it to you: contact@nomadicsarah.com
Whenever they need to pass a cable from one side of the van to another, the guy just stick the cable into the floor and magically it appears on the other side. how does that work? did you prepare like tunnels under the floor for the cables?
For the less experienced, would you recommend to pass those wires before laying out the flooring?
Yes we make a channel in the floor for wirings, but the EcoFlow system can be something you run through the wall framing or put in before the floor is installed
@@DrifterVans
Was the decision to use this EcoFlow kit made after the flooring and other components were installed?
Very nice. I know price is a delicate matter, and changes between locations etc, but still, can you please,
a: give us a rough estimate on the price of this system?
b: what's the spec of the system?
c: tell us how much would it cost to buy separate batteries, inverter, cables, solar charger, distribution board, etc?
time is money, I agree, but since this is a significant part of the van's cost, lets understand our alternatives. thanks!
Hey Ron! There are links in the video description to the power kits on EcoFlows website that will break down pricing and specs. 😊
How many Amp hrs do you have with each of those big batteries. And are they lithium
Each of the EcoFlow Lithium Batteries has 500 Amp hours, and you can add up to 3 Batteries with this system
Is the power kit only for RVs or is it possible to go off grid with house as well?
You can use these kits in homes as well!
👍👍👍💋
Put these in the Winnebago Solis.....
can ecoflow power kit power a 12v AC?
My Indel B 12V AC is 5000 BTU and can be run with my power kit. We will include this in a future video where we test all appliances in my van with the power kit!
Open van door to access breaker panel? Huh?
That Dan is a nice guy. Don't like his shirt all that much. My blood runs GREEN :- )
If you have to use a hammer to crimp a terminal it doesn't sound too professional
You've never seen a terminal crimper ?.. dumb comment
