    I installed Ecoflow Powerkit and added 3,150 watts of solar on my 34ft Avion Travel Trailer last June. I have 15kw of batteries and run my air conditioner on the system. Live full time in our rig. In the over 9 months I have not plugged into shore power or a generator. Totally off grid. Full time. Love my Ecoflow Power Kit!

      Right!! Isn’t this thing great. Pretty amazing and I think this will really make other companies change direction.
      I’ll be adding another battery to 15k as well and dropping my house batteries down to relieve some weight. I can charge right from the 24v out to a drop down to 12 for the house batt.
      I’ll add more solar on that input from the house batt to the PK..👍🏼

    I have the independence kit, with 3 x 5Kw LFP batteries... total 15Kw capacity, more than enough for my off grid needs. It can charge with 4800w total with PV panels! I have 12 x 410w Canadian Solar PV panels, 4 panels for each of the 3 inputs wired in series. A sunny day with minimal cloud cover can charge my batteries From 30%to 100% in about 4-6 hours. Great system... Very pricey as well. It works and I'm happy💖

      Nice, I wanna tap into my hole solar system but using micro inverters makes it tough to convert back over. So the trailer is my other power generating unit.
      But I’m net zero so can’t complain. 👍🏼
      Now it’s my power when the power goes out but I would like a 3rd battery 👍🏼

      @johnnysweekends  Місяць тому +1

      @TheCornucopiaProject-bd5jk I have over 5kwhs in my house batteries so I use the Alt charger port and a victron 12/24 converter. So I then dump power into PK if needed. The up converter can do 20 amps continuous but I normally run it at 15-17 if I have two.
      I don’t think I’ll need to
      Much because I’m generating a lot more. But my whole setup changed with adding the other panel and changing my array. I no longer have solar charging the battery. So I’m fixing that.

      Thank you !! Yes it should be a great kit for anyone looking to be more in dry camping or offgrid setups. Especially the rv or van build life as again, the uninstall would be less than a hour. Especially if I just left the data cable. I see a lot of people who I build these big expensive off grid setups in the rv and it would be complicated and a mess to remove. So they leave it and sell the trailer 3 years later and the kit goes with . This can be retained for future projects..👍🏼

    I am glad they are doing this. Even with solar generators prices are getting even. I bought my pecron for 855 out the door which has 1200 w solar input 2000 w inverter, 1980 lifepo4 expandable to 8kw. That being said I do not have the knowledge to build that safely not yet at least. This stuff can be pretty dangerous to a newbie. I don't want my neighbors building 10 kw systems if they know nothing about electric it's a skilled science. Nice job Eco Flow.

      Well Ecoflow has now been around a while. And I know as a reviewer of several of there products and a couple friends as well we constantly tell them customer service needs to be big. Bluetti went down fast after a while and are now rebuilding that. I know ecoflow is also expanding it as well to better serve more customers as they continue to grow. A lot of people got hit during COVID and are still rebuilding from that

    What a CLEAN setup! Nice work, Johnny! This kits are super awesome for an RV install. Question.... I was just helping my friend with a power station rv install and the built in transfer switch didn't work until we bonded the neutral and ground with a bonding plug. Did you have to do that on this setup?

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  8 місяців тому

      This one I did not which I was surprised. It has been working with out a bonding plug.
      But a bonding plug is only needed if a on board pms or EMS system is installed or using say a watchdog surge/low voltage protector. Much like a gas generator it’s the same. Not needed if none of those are installed. But there are exceptions depending how new or old

    Thank you for this. I’m considering this kit, but wondering if it would be wise to wait a bit and see what other products come to market. My biggest hesitation is that the 12v amperage output cannot handle a rooftop AC. I would have to run it on 120v, which would lose some efficiency.
    You mentioned the Renogy Rego, and also a Victron plug-and-play product. I’m not aware of the Victron, do you have any other info on it? Thanks!

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes renogy redo. But not as install friendly but still pretty easy, and victron is just slowly changing with multi plus and newer style Rs inverter charger and solar controllers.
      Which I bet we see some new things soon like during Vegas CES in January. At least we hope so. Again more people will be headed this way. And victron is just slowly making more pieces into less pieces lol.

    I've been following this system since it was released but can't find anyone reviewing the sound ouput volume. I have the Ecoflow Delta Pro but the fans run so loud I am looking at other options for my TT setup. Do you have any plans to test the hardware as you have other generators? Sound db under load where it begins to ramp? Total db @ 1 m while under full load? Also, I see that you are installing the inverter/charger unit in a closed space. Any idea what kind of heat would be generated over time? For those wanting to install in a similar space, how would load contribute to ambient temperature increase? Been following your content for a while and appreciate the time you take to review and address the practical side of equipment.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  8 місяців тому +1

      I will be doing more testing for sure, I’ll do sound levels and more but with cool air already coming it definitely won’t have to work as hard. One thing it’s quieter than delta pro, but DP also has an update to adjust fan speeds of when full kicks on.
      I also have an exhaust fan in that compartment that you can see in the video but I may switch it out for something else. Will see. It’s a little noisy but it was cheap and an experiment really when I was running DP.
      I need to do some stress tests soon and see how it does. Again cool weather will make life easier. Obviously I don’t want to abuse it but I do have a few benefits so hence abuse it and see what it does..👍🏼

      I don’t have a dc ac unit. It can run as a 12v or 24v system. Which would double your dc amps.
      But it has enough as power to run both my Rv ac units no problem.

    So you can hook this up to shore power and not have to deal with the smart panel? I don’t want to take out my stock switch panel simply because if I resell, I’d want to not have to rewire it twice.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  4 місяці тому +1

      Yesss! I built my whole Rv in a fashion to make it very easy to stripe and it will be almost exactly stock for resale. The power kit if you noticed in the video is still using the stock Electric distribution panel so no modifications to the DC or AC circuits. It’s almost plus and play if you have a generator prep. The only I would leave behind is the data cable so I dont have to fish it out.
      I could strip the whole power kit in less than 30 mins. Hence the reason I like it so much and it’s been working very well. I just went on a 7 day boondocking trip and leaving again this Friday for 8 days again mostly dry camping. I run an electric heater at night that clicks on and off in my bedroom. I can run my front AC full time when the sun is out but the main unit draws more than I bring in so it will eventually deplete depending on the conditions.
      And yes it has AC input so you can charge or go into bypass mode.
      And the prices of this have come down with other products being released. Let me know if you have more questions and I do have discounts for the power kit as well.

    It’s almost like… with the way the country is going with “silent depression”, “silent quitting”, inflations, Van lifers, RV’ers, trying to keep things on a budget but be off grid away from government BS… You almost have to try and learn how to do this as well as a lot on your own.
    EcoFlow vs a DIY system is kind of like iPhone vs Android. One hand is very user friendly and partially paying for convenience of having it basically done and usable while the other can get as expensive or as cheap as you want it to be DIY customizable.
    Regardless of what anyone chooses I love that the community in this realm we are helping each other, spreading the word, and teaching. Keep innovating peeps!

      This is a $12k system 51.2v batteries. 48v system with 12v or 24v out with 3600 watt ac inverter. Most all this is mentioned in the video

      @johnnysweekends WILL NEVER SELL, unless your a rich person. People live off grid to save money. And I m building my own system for 48v(54.4v) system
      For $3000ish. Running led lights, water pump, etc...

      @mad151maxx4 they have already sold a ton of them 🤷🏼‍♂️
      And many do not know how to do there own not do they want to.
      A good set up would be a server rack system. If people don’t want to mess with anything get a large enphase set up or silting off that sort.

    Those tiny brackets and screws for 80 lb batteries are concerning.

      They are actually pretty strong but it comes with a couple mount option which has this strong strap mount as well with brackets on the bottom

    Can the power kit be used in a marine application?

    • @johnnysweekends

      I don’t think this is set up for marine use. I would ask direct but I didn’t see anything saying it was certified for marine use

      EcoFlow is considering a new version of the Power Kits for the marine market, it will require a number of changes to be certified to marine standards.

      @GregKBoulder this will be awesome when they do. And yes takes much more to be marine rated.

      I will be first in line when they roll out the marine version

    Can build a MUCH better system, bigger capacity, higher quality components - for a fraction of the cost.

      Most people are not going to want to install sungold power or EG4 items in these. Size or inverter and weight of server rack or wall battlers are heavy and spacing is a problem, how ever I may still do it for fun.

      /i could ford is junk if I didn’t buy it from a dealer. Sometimes owners need to do some of the diagnostics. Try and deplete battery completely using dc output. Then charge to 100 percent. Discharge again completely. You can also try holding power button for 30 seconds and see if this changes anything. How long ago did you get it..? And where from?
