Hey I have question. So I have a home workout app(no weights) and yoga app. And both of them have 30 day challenges. So I want to gain flexibility and muscle building. So I thought it would be a good idea to do the yoga 30 day challenge for a month and then do the 30 day home workout challenge after words. And then rotating both challenges again. One month focusing on yoga and another focused on home workout, and then on and so for. However I’m worried about loosing the results i gained from the yoga challenge while taking a month off focusing on the home workout challenge. Same in reverse. Anyways i wanted to ask for your thoughts on the matter😊
Dr Jared, I have been suffering neck and shoulder for three days now, and finally found your video. Thank you so much. Immediate relief arrived after doing the exercises in this video. Your explanations helped immensely as well.
I'm in agony due to a pinched nerve brought on by stress, iv been flicking thru youtube looking for videos to help relieve it... this is by far the best. Those stretches have helped so much. Hopefully can go back to sleep now and go to work tomorrow. Thankyou
I did your exercises twice a day for several weeks…..I got I immediate relief after only a couple days! I had been excruciating and waking me up at night. I can now get by with every other day, but I tend to keep them up.THANK YOU!!!!
I came across this video after a Google search, extremely happy I did. I damaged my C5 n C6 on my spinal cord during an accident, they jumped each other an had to be fused together. I experience neck pain daily. These exercises have changed my daily life. Thank you!
Two weeks ago I developed a pain in my neck and shoulder especially when I would lie down. Needless to say I wasn’t sleeping well at all. Then about ten days later I stumbled upon one of your videos and followed the exercises. Lo and behold, I got instant relief, and after many sleepless nights, I slept like a rock that night! I’m not back 100% yet, and I’m being treated by a chiropractor, but at least I’m now able to sleep! Many thanks 🙏 ❤
I've been in constant pain for nearly a year with a ton of tingling in my fingers. Neck and shoulder pain, headaches. This is excellent for alleviating the pain.
suffering from pinched nerve for weeks. excruciating pain. no meds helped at all. as i watched your video, i tried to follow and even doing a fraction of what you showed i already feel some relief. will watch you gone and tighten too. thank you
As I was watching this video, with you sir I did the stretches. WOW what a relief dear. God bless you. I am sure my shoulder pain will go away. Thank you so much ❤
ive been suffering neck pain and weakness traveling down my arm, affecting my daily life. i tried the exercises and stretches in this video and i feel a little better. i'm going to keep doing these and hopefully it helps.
Perfect, these stretches worked really well. I'm waiting for the results of my MRI scan currently, but I'm fairly certain the issue is a pinched nerve. Judging by the relief I feel right now after doing these exercises, I am certain of it. My new morning routine! Thank you!
Thanks heaps!!! lots of your videos have helped me in the past, I have three upper compression fractures of the spine and get these real heavy like dislocating clicks and these have also helped that and you are very right about our posture, Thank you very much!!!
I woke up with the worst nerve pain from poor sleep posture the day of a seven hour flight. I did as many of these as I could seated for 7 hours on an overnight flight and it WORKED. I am continuing to do them and I am amazed. Thank you. Because of you my trip wasn’t ruined.
Thank you, Doc!!! I'm a 69 year old bodybuilder who has had pinched nerve problems for many years now. These exercises...and others like it...really help!!! Thank God!!! For whatever it's worth....I started doing your "scalp pinch" intuitively. It really helps!!!
THANK YOU! I’ve had 30 years of neck pain from repeated neck injuries and thought that I knew which physio exercises to do after multiple rounds of physio, regular chiropractic and massage appointments. Your threading the needle was the missing link! Thank you so much!
Thank you! I had this neck nerve issue a couple years ago and got help from a chiropractor- this video let me do all my own care myself at home - and it helped immensely
Thank you, these exercises are helping me a lot with a pinched nerve, 2 questions for you, (1) how many times a day should one do it (I have done it once yesterday and twice today, and the pain is much lower today)? (2) Does the tingling one feels on the arm a sign of de-pinching of the nerve or the inverse?
Your videos are very much helpful not to me only. My friends and family members are following your instructions and all of them always gives positive response with instant relief in their pain. Thank you so much bro.
I feel optimistic about these as the answer to my pinched nerve. I like your delivery and the practicality of doing these without equipment. How many times a day would you recommend going through the complete set of stretches and exercises? Thank you!
Dr jared, thank you for your work. I have diagnosed spondylitis 5 years, the doctor said to me it was mild ad no problem. Nowadays my left shoulder is higher thany right shoulder. Which exercise is good for correctiony posture? Thank you Dr
I thank you for your videos. I have been going to physiotherapy and no exercises been shown to me that I see in yours other than titling my neck forward and stretching both my hands forward. Since I discovered your video for pinched nerves and have started following for the last 2 weeks, it has helped me. I have tendonitis on my shoulder blades, especially on my right side and narrowing of my cervical c5-6 and c7 from the Xray and ultrasound. Extremely painful but I am a bit better now since following your exercises. I tried to tolerate as much as I could especially with the angel wall exercises and I can feel the relieve! Thank you so much. Do you have a clinic for in person patients? If so, where about are you?
Thank you so much! After being in pain for 6 months I am finally getting some relief. My doctor finally scheduled an MRI to see if it'll show the root cause. In the mean time this as helped a lot.
Hi, I just been to my neurosurgeon today after 6 weeks of physio. Pain keeps coming back except my arm. I just tried all your stretches and I'm shocked. Now without pain in the areas which were tight. Thank you and I'll make this blog my daily routine. Oh c4 c5 bulge, c6 - 7 herniated.
Dude! These moves are ON POINT! The first real relief i’ve experienced so far. I’m sixty two and started working on an old wooden boat 2 months ago and I destroyed my neck with an orbital sander for hours on end under the boat. THANK YOU!!!
These exercises are really helping me. I feel almost complete pain relief afterwards, although it does come back after a while. Hopefully, the strengthening exercises will help me to fix the problem in the long term (and will be trying your posture exercises too). Thank you for making these videos - they're very much appreciated.
Hi Doc, Thanks for the info. Just got dxed with cervical spinal issues after severe generalized numbing and tingling. No stiffness nor pain. Why do my arms feel more numbed when I raised my arms to perform these exercises?
I been dealing with severe neck pain and a strong tingle in my arm for almost a month. Been causing awful issues sleeping. It has gotten better then worse a few times. After doing these stretches my strong tingle is just a slight numbness. Then my neck popped it released so much pressure. I feel marvelous. Thank you for the video.
Had a severe neck-shouler pain yesterday, I am on work visit in Korea, no doctors on weekend..but your soft exercises made me feel much better. Thanks and God bless you sir
Wow. Yesterday I was in so much pain I was waking up in the middle of the night and felt like a metal rod was in my back/ neck… and today I’m so much better, thank you! All I did really was the chin tucks!
Your the goat for this video last position was the best got all those muscles lose!!!& man i have a job interview in 2 days u saved me im trying to be in tip top shape😂😂😂
I have the pain in upper arm and tingling in my left fingers now, for the last couple of weeks. I think it's partly from cell phone overuse one day. It feels like sciatica, but in the arms. I'll try these exercises. I just did the chin tuck, and the tingling comes back when my head position returns to normal. Extending my arms feels better.
Just came across this video because i have a pinched nerve in my neck and now my hands and arms are falling asleep to the ooint of bad pain when im sleeping. Im going to try these exercises and pray it helps. I need to sleep!
These are wonderful!! Any recommendations for how to sleep at night with this dilemma? I’ve read that I should be on my side so I’ve implemented that- but still, every slight movement (including just to lift my head in general) is quite excruciating. I am making sure to have my affected trapezius + arm on the right side up, with my more-at-ease side down on the mattress. Is this correct? Any further suggestion?
I have a pinched nerve in my neck. I've been using tennis and racquet balls for years. I stuff two balls inside a sock. Holds them in place perfectly. Great video!
I have serious shoulder pain now. Can’t more up of my hand and point to the sky. and I think neck is part of the course. But may you able to make sketch video for it? I very need that.
I've had a pinched nerve for 2 and a half years now, these help alleviate the discomfort, for me its usually temporary but never truly goes away. I have a Physio appointment in 2 weeks to get rid of this for good. Thank you for the video
@@aidahoteit My physio appointment was moved to the 19 so will see then. I really hope it can be fixed. Did you try any professional help? Thats a long time!
@@Sinkatze i did physio… as soon as i stop the exercizes then its back.. stress makes it come back too but i want to know what causes this.. its so annoying. Why it cant b fixed forever?
@@aidahoteit I was told by a doctor, after doing x-ray (which wasnt the problem), that I need to do physio for 2-3 months and if that doesnt work I need to go back to get an MRI in case its something more serious than a simple pinched nerve. Ive also done on my own, physio exercises and massages that give me relief, but its all temporary, so will see soon by a professional. I can keep you posted
Starting these exercises. Been in pain for 2 weeks. Any ideas how quick to can get back to jujitsu after doing these daily? Also taking ibuprofen. Thanks for the info!
I knew there would be some sort of exercise that would help dealing with tight shoulder nerve. I've had to deal with this certain left nerve inside shoulder muscle that I simply couldn't reach externally from massage. It has caused me migraines that would numb my entire left side of my body once a year or so. It was speculated because of my jaw pressing certain nerve on my neck that would cause it, because my jaws aren't perfectly aligned to sit on their position comfortably. Sadly after a bicycle accident my jaws ended up being misaligned after years of trying to pull jaws to where they 'should' be. Now, I tried these exercises you've showed, and in a sense it has helped my shoulder not to feel numb. I will try your exercises out carefully after doing small exercise like throwing hands in air to help warm up shoulders for necessary stretching. I just hope this helps to calm down my aural migraine.
So helpful i was suffering from neck pain so badly that i couldn't even sleep properly after doing these exercises i got a instant relief and just went for a good sleep
Great advice and very helpful. Just note that at 9:00, during your Nerve Glide demonstration, you changed your position and are no longer looking at the back of your hand but rather your palm. You may wish to add a text correction to your video.
All your exercises are so helpful even if it hurts so badly whenever I try it but there's this weird sense of relief after relaxation and every next video seems to be the one that I need. 😂
On Aug 7th I suffered a C4, C5, C6 injury after flipping into a shallow pool. After a ER overnight stay at two hospitals and two ambulance rides, and, CT scan, and MRI, I have sharp needle, burning, numbing sensation all up and down both arms. This video has helped alleviate some pain immediately. Looking forward to getting better.
Thank you for the video. I noticed the nerve glides you 1st rotated your head towards palm down, then you rotated towards palm up. Is that correct? TIA
I have radial tunnel syndrome in one arm and median nerve in the other. I have only done this video once. So I don't know yet if it is my solution. But I am sitting here tearing up because I finally found something that makes sense for the pain I have been in for years.
I have the pinched neve with tingling down the arm all the way down to pain the back behind the shoulder. I had a fusion 7 years ago and now the arthritis is in the disk above. I love golf but it's too painful in my left arm to hit the ball so that's the end of my golf career I think. I recently bought one of the machines that you pump up and stretch the neck. My PT used it with me yesterday and it didn't hurt all all for the first go-round. What is your opinion of this option considering I have had a neck fusion? I don't want another operation and the doctor scared me saying it would affect swelling and for who knows how long. I think I'll live with the pain before taking that chance .
I watched your other video on posture. The one where you keep your head against the wall and do a double chin down causes pain and numbness increase. I just started with Gabapentin. I'm a mess I guess.
I'm getting intense "Burning Muscle Pain" and tingling in my neck, shoulders, back and down into my arms- the 'burn' feels like lactic acid burn when you push yourself too hard exercising- only this comes on with very little provocation, and my arms get weak, and i have to sit on a couch or chair with high back and rest the tension in my neck to get the burning pain to subside- but as soon as i start doing anything again- the burning pain comes back- I "Think" it might be Chronic fatigue (As debilitating exhaustion is a symptom too, brain fog, post exertional malaise etc), but also worsened by years of poor posture and a protrusion on C-4 i think it is- Will these stretches help? Or woudl i need something else? Oh- one other thing- I 'brace' constantly- where my muscles just tense up and won't release until i consciously am aware of it and relax them
Loss of cervical lordosis, height and alignment of cervical vertebral column is maintained. Disc desiccation and osteophytes seen at multiple levels. Disc osteophyte complex at C5/C6 level indenting the thecal sac, underlying cord is normal. Left neural foraminal narrowing with compression of C6 nerve root. Spinal canal and neural foramina at other levels in the cervical spine are adequate
Hi Dr I’m here in the UK just found your video…👀my pain from my trapped neck nerve is very bad has been for a good few weeks now, nothing seems to help. Couple of weeks back went to a local chiropractor who did some re adjustments and I’m convinced it made it worse 😢 never again… So I am seeing a local physio therapist free on the nhs who has given me couple of exercises to do but wondered if there could be others to help hence me finding your video of interest… when doing these type of physio exercises is it normal to feel a little pain as you do them? Thanking you .. 🙏
I think have a pinched nerve in the middle left side of my neck. I think this because when I press on the spot it causes pain down my neck and left arm. It also creates a tingle in my left forearm and thumb. At random moments sitting down when I let me left arm hang, my bicep and left arm will get a tingle sensation. This all began six weeks ago from what I think was working out ? I'm nervous of permanent damage. I'm in the military and still conduct business as normal and try to manage the pain. Can this be reversed and cured without surgery ? Any advice would be a blessing. I've tried stretches, massages, muscle relaxers, everything. Thank you in advanced for your advice and time ! 🙏🏻
I slept on my shoulder wrong and noticed this really bad radiating pain from the top of my shoulder to my hand. (Not just that but, my hand is numb in certain parts.) If this is a pinched nerve then it is extremely painful! One minute it's just a little sore, then the next it's really painful! Idk if I'm going to be able to tolerate these exercises but, I'm gonna try. I've never experienced this before.

I am glad you found this helpful and thanks for sharing!
@@toneandtighten does it ever go away?? i do feel reliefe but as soon as i stop it comes back. why?
The towel pulls hurt my arm. I have to skip those for now the other helped a lot. Thanks 😊
You're so welcome!
You're great doc 🙌🏿
I appreciate that!
Are these exercises good for treating burning sensation in skull as well?
Kindly do reply.
Any recommendations for a sleeping position? On my back? Arms to the side and straight? Slightly elevated? My pain is in my left arm/shoulder. Thanks
Great advice and very helpful. Just note that at 9:00, during your Nerve Glide demonstration, you changed your position and are no longer looking at the back of your hand but rather your palm. You may wish to add a text correction to your video.
Thanks for the info!
does the "no pain, no gain" theory apply to these exercises. Should I work through the pain or stop exercising?
These exercises are wonderful! You’re the best! Wish you practiced in Cleveland, OH!
Oh, I appreciate that so much!
Thanks Jared. Love your work ❤
I appreciate that!
All your exercises are so helpful even if it hurts so badly whenever I try it but there's this weird sense of relief after relaxation and every next video seems to be the one that I need. 😂
Love to hear it!

@@toneandtighten if when i do wall angels it causes twinges of pain on the one side should i make the stretch smaller and build up?
On Aug 7th I suffered a C4, C5, C6 injury after flipping into a shallow pool. After a ER overnight stay at two hospitals and two ambulance rides, and, CT scan, and MRI, I have sharp needle, burning, numbing sensation all up and down both arms. This video has helped alleviate some pain immediately. Looking forward to getting better.
I am glad you are feeling better!
Updates !??
Wow fast work is right. It only took a few seconds to make the pain ten times worse. How long till I will be able to move at all?
Thank you for the video. I noticed the nerve glides you 1st rotated your head towards palm down, then you rotated towards palm up. Is that correct? TIA
I have radial tunnel syndrome in one arm and median nerve in the other. I have only done this video once. So I don't know yet if it is my solution. But I am sitting here tearing up because I finally found something that makes sense for the pain I have been in for years.
@toneandtighten I’m just beginning these exercises as I just found your video, should I get an MRI to confirm the pinched nerve in my neck?
CAT SCAN W/O DYE WILL CONFIRM
Do you reccomend cervical pillows ? I got one but it seemed to aggravate in a few min went back to folded washcloth under my neck ?
Didn't realize how tight and off I was until I did these exercises. As a professional tattoo artist, hats off to you for this video. 👏
Happy to help!
Thanks for this video
I'm getting intense "Burning Muscle Pain" and tingling in my neck, shoulders, back and down into my arms- the 'burn' feels like lactic acid burn when you push yourself too hard exercising- only this comes on with very little provocation, and my arms get weak, and i have to sit on a couch or chair with high back and rest the tension in my neck to get the burning pain to subside- but as soon as i start doing anything again- the burning pain comes back-
I "Think" it might be Chronic fatigue (As debilitating exhaustion is a symptom too, brain fog, post exertional malaise etc), but also worsened by years of poor posture and a protrusion on C-4 i think it is- Will these stretches help? Or woudl i need something else? Oh- one other thing- I 'brace' constantly- where my muscles just tense up and won't release until i consciously am aware of it and relax them
What is the Implication & whst do u do if u feel a sharp shock down Yr leg while adjusting Yr neck?
That was magical🎉🎉🎉🎉
Can this pain be felt under the arm and under the collar bone?
I'm feeling it in my right side of neck, right shoulder blade, and right triceps

Thank you so much 🤗
Ive been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck almost a month. All of these excercises hurt!

Left neural foraminal narrowing with compression of C6 nerve root.
Spinal canal and neural foramina at other levels in the cervical spine are adequate
Please help its my mri report
Hi Dr I’m here in the UK just found your video…👀my pain from my trapped neck nerve is very bad has been for a good few weeks now, nothing seems to help. Couple of weeks back went to a local chiropractor who did some re adjustments and I’m convinced it made it worse 😢 never again… So I am seeing a local physio therapist free on the nhs who has given me couple of exercises to do but wondered if there could be others to help hence me finding your video of interest… when doing these type of physio exercises is it normal to feel a little pain as you do them? Thanking you .. 🙏
I am going to try these streches, one shoulder has bone spurs, and both have bursitis.(not sure if spelling is correct) fingers crossed
If you go into neck extension, aren’t you compressing the discs? Does that cause more pinching of the nerve? I’m confused.
Doc, does doing these exercises constantly on a regular schedule permanently fix the pinched nerves or should i seek professional help??
I slept on my shoulder wrong and noticed this really bad radiating pain from the top of my shoulder to my hand. (Not just that but, my hand is numb in certain parts.) If this is a pinched nerve then it is extremely painful!
One minute it's just a little sore, then the next it's really painful! Idk if I'm going to be able to tolerate these exercises but, I'm gonna try. I've never experienced this before.
The chin tucks hurt really bad in the rhomboid and and neck right side. Is it best to stop?
Thanks for this video 🎉
My pleasure 😊 I hope it helps!
Thank you for this!!
You're so welcome! I hope it helps.
Hey, I have a question. How often a day can I do a chin tuck and use my fingers and my hand while doing this exercise? Thank you in advance.
Do you do both sides or the one that mainly causing pain
