I literally had a video last week get 372k, but I’ve posted everyday and the most views I got in the last week is 3k the rest didn’t get over 100. I was averaging 8k a couple weeks ago.
My youtube shorts not getting views now. But it was getting views before. I followed all the ratio and 15 sec shorts and hastags also but it's still happening. What to do??

Shorts videos are really erratic man, one moment am getting 1k plus views then next moment am getting 50 views, yes the shorts videos have made my channel grow faster but this inconsistency in views is quite annoying and draining to say the least, and I post pretty much every single day. I make tips for ps5 & xbox series
This is the second time this had happened to me. The first time lasted just a couple of days, but this time(which is about a month later) it's been going on for almost a week. On November 11th, I was averaging 15K views a day, since November 11th, I have struggled to get 15 views a day. I KNOW it's not the actual content. The last time it fixed itself, I went back and deleted one of the underperforming shorts, then reuploaded it with the same title, tags, and description. It got a regular amount of views. During the downtime, it got 5 views, when it fixed itself, it got 2500. When it's working correctly, 90% of my views on shorts come from the shorts feed, when it's not working correctly, I get one of two views from the shorts feed and that's it. Also when it's working correctly, a huge percentage of the shorts views are from non-subscribers when it's not working, more than 95% of my views come from subscribers. Very frustrating!
It’s a work in progress with a lot of variables. Didn’t watch your videos so I don’t know what you’re making, but what I have been seeing is shorts that are of low quality or not original seem to be getting less traction currently. Make sure you’re putting up original content that looks good and has a good title. Other than that, keep going. They will eventually get it all worked out.

The algorithm is either broken or programmed to try and bully new channels away... it literally shows some shorts to only two people... TWO! and both these people watched the entire thing... Good short, good title, good hook. Doesn't matter if no-one even sees it...
I'm in the same boat... Use to get a couple thousand views per video and now 0 or single digits for the past 7 days. Did you happen to find a fix to the issue?
@MrWolfClips nope. It went well for some time again. But now I again have a bunch of shorts with ridiculous high click rate (70-80%) and watch time (90-110%), but youtube just doesn't show it to people.... it gets hardly any views and it's destroying my channel. And there's nothing you can do.
@B*Break I guess all we can do at this point is keep making content and just hope UA-cam allows us to get views. Unfortunately the power is in their hands.

This happened to me in whole month of December all my views is decreasing so badly.2-3 of my Friends we are all the same .no more views ! It really change a lot since we started Shorts video. We've never change our upload time,same content.. There's no FOREVER!!!
I didn’t get into shorts but as a motorcycle and car enthusiast, I’ve started and lo and behold , it’s crazy . I’m currently dining with the Algorithm with a couple of tricks and hacks under my sleeves . 500k+ views with about 500+ subs in 3 hours in the last 72hrs. Shorts could project your channel and or slow it down . Depends .
In the last few days my shorts have completely stopped getting views. Over the last year almost every short I’d post would take off and get at least 1-2k views. Somethings definitely changed

@@ColeIsKing Me too. This is crazy. The same has been happening to me. Most of my subs were coming from shorts which have now suddenly stopped. Don't know WHAT to do.
Guys if you're still getting 0 views on your shorts just delete them and upload them again. try to do this for at least 3 times a day at different hours, and if that doesn't work so just wait for tomorrow and try again. do this until it works, youtube algorithm has some serious problems right now so we have to work around it.
This works. I made a short about this strategy a while back. It has something to do with the audience they are testing at the moment. Different time is sometimes a different audience. They are still dialing shorts in.
Definitely strengthening my view that we should get in on Shorts now before it gets too saturated in our niche. I want to learn more about the clip feature for use from our own videos!
UA-cam is a marathon, not a sprint. Stay consistent and your channel will have success! Dont give up gang! Best wishes in 2023 smashing your UA-cam goals!
The algorithm is literally broken I get 50k on my video in 1 hour then I upload the next one and it gets literally 0 views youtube really need to fix this
Thanks man for posting this. You gave me relief . I just started new Shorts channel and it gained decent views in 1st month But suddenly all views decreased from like 20k to 2-3 views. Finally I got the answer that it's due to error in algorithm 😅
Bruh Idk I thought I got shadowbanned, I uploaded 2 videos both had nearly 1k views in the first 5 mins lots of likes compared to normal, I uploaded 1 more video, then boom none of them got a single view or like in the next day, this was all in a span of 2 hours uploading 3 videos, my views just stopped.
I've only had one short do really well but I have never gained a subscriber from a single UA-cam short, yet with long form I've grown from zero to 450 subs in a month and a half, which for my niche is relatively solid growth. It seems like my shorts are just pushed out to entirely unrelated audiences that don't know about the sort of niche gaming content I post and it ends up being pointless. Meanwhile the same exact content on TikTok gets 1/4 the amount of views but I actually get followers from it. As far as I'm concerned, shorts don't work for everyone and they need to fix the algorithm more, I'll keep trying but long form seems to be what gets the subs for me.
@@BudgetLove well I had one short too pretty well...1500 views in 2 hours and I gained one subscriber hahah but I also had a long form video get 1600 views and gain me 30+ subs so 🤔
I posted a short recently that absolutely blew up with about 1.1k views and then completely stopped getting any views. For reference, I had 1 subscriber and the most views I had on any of my 4ish videos were around 200. I'm beginning to think the shorts get pulled in and out of rotation based on likes and dislikes because the only change I noticed before the views stopped pouring in was a few dislikes in a row. The likes we're slowly climbing their way up to 15, as soon as a few dislikes came in, it was like they stopped showing it to people.
I explain all of that in about video. It’s not based on likes and dislikes, it’s all based on video performance and relevance. Traffic sources can also change for videos. If you were doing well and it died, they may have simply run out of people to show it to based on who they believe your audience is. If you lots of different types of videos on your channel, this is what can happen as a result, as you have a segmented audience, which isn’t helpful to UA-cam.
There's definitely something weird going on with the shorts. I make some shorts that I believe are well made and they get a good initial reaction and then dive to not views all of a sudden. It's not even gradual.
Possibly going to some subscribers first then dying off if they don’t respond well enough. What percentage of them are completing the video? Also, look at impressions. That’s how many people it was shown to.
@@DeeNimmin My average percentage viewed on the worst case scenario is 80% but usually they are between 90-110%. I by no means have a large channel but on my best performing shorts I've seen them go up by the second then just drop. Maybe it's just the nature of how shorts work.
@@Vanfernal I'm experiencing the same thing. My shorts often don't even got to my subscribers, just to literally everyone except my target audience so even if they get 90% view duration they die out cos they're not getting to the right people even when I hashtag it correctly
@@CitiesByDiana I'm sorry to hear that. It's very discouraging since I have been gaining a couple of subscribers here and there from my shorts but then the momentum stops cold. You see my analytics graphs and it's a complete and sudden drop in views after sometimes getting thousands of views in a very short time.

Shorts are BROKEN! I was getting consistent views around 1k then all of a sudden 2 views or 'no views' for the past few days. Ive tried to find other people having this issue and it seems unusually plentiful. Not changing content, not changing upload times, just a random total drop off of shorts views.......The most peculiar thing is I saw one of my shorts show up on the regular feed of my personal channel (the one I use to watch youtube). I double checked to make sure that it is properly a short (right format, not too long) and it is! It has the shorts logo and it is still listed in my shorts section. Its as if UA-cam is accidentally pushing shorts into regular feeds which is why they aren't getting any views (or not showing them at all). Would love more discussion and to hear from others who are having this same issue....because there definitely seems to be a major issue....

Then you literally say "IDK Maybe".....Everything after that about the algorithm change is just speculation. Your 2nd point about notification changes doesn't fully apply to my situation as the majority of my views were coming from non-subscribers (I only have 500). And your 3rd point about competition isn't something new. That might drop your view count but not literally off a cliff....My last shorts numbers were the something like [7000; 900; 3000; 4000; 2000; 2; 2; 2; 0; 1; 0; 1] An influx in competition wouldn't have that kind of impact
@@Futureftbl I just kept uploading, fortunately Ive been able to get views again but didnt change anything. I did delete some of the ones with no views and re-uploaded when I started getting views again, and this time they got views

Seems like a lot of us are on the same boat with no fix in sight. Makes me feel like UA-cam is just blacklisting/targeting certain channels just because at this point! Why would videos suddenly stop being shown on the Shorts Feed for no apparent reason. I literally got almost 100% of my views from Shorts Feed and it ranged from 1000-4000 views per video. Now for the past week I've been getting single digit views or none at all almost as if UA-cam decided to stop pushing my videos. Right when things were starting to pick up for me viewer and subscriber wise I'm shelved!
The same happened to me! Just started with UA-cam shorts a month ago with decent amount of 1-2k views and now the past 3 days barely get 20 views even though my tags and topics are on point... It s so frustrating... I guess I'll just keep posting and see where it goes
@ ⟭⟬JeonLuna™ Seems to me like they give us 1 solid month of promoting our videos and then when the month is over they just stop promoting and leave us with just the subscribers we've gained in that month for views. I honestly think that's what's happening.
@@MrWolfClips i just hope they wont leave us like that for good as i am still trying to get monetized and shorts have really boosted subscribers.... But since we are not the only ones going through this it might just be the constant changes in the algorithm

I have the same problem 😂 I think is the same video quality. I am wondering if UA-cam gives people an initial push for a few months and then let’s you find views more organically 😢 my shorts used to get a couple of thousand views in the first hour and some shorts have gotten 80 thousand views over time. Now, I barely get 600 views on new shorts. My long videos are barely being promoted now 😢 I am thinking in deleting all the shorts 😢
Dope info... I have noticed my shorts and views be all over the place. But for anyone paying attention and is on the fence with shorts especially if your doing service industry.. Do the shorts they will help you dominate even more search wise in your local area. (another form of evergreen content)
Hello, What you think about this? I have 5-6 videos like over 2 million views getting 10k per minute and suddenly all drops to like 400-1000 views. My channel avg 100k/hour now dropped to 30k. I’m the last 1-2 days my channel has completely fallen apart, because most of my fanbase is from shorts, and my shorts went from getting around 2k views each to 8 views each, and i lost around 10 subs, and went from getting 10k views per day to 400 per day, and I went from getting hundreds of thousands of views an hour to around 5 views an hour. And I’m extremely upset and confused about it thinking YT was legit refusing to put my shorts on the shorts feed, so thank you alot and HOPEFULLY 🙏 YT will work properly.

Mine usually seem to be about the same views. I got way way more when shorts first started though. I'm not some shorts guru and high achiever though. Never have been.
$hit the algorithm change helped my shorts 10 fold. i had only 1 short get over 66k as soon as they did the change all them.old shorts i had loaded up a month ago went boom. over the last 28 days i have had a million views, most coming from shorts.

I learned a lot from yall, and I appreciate it. But its kind of funny how everything constantly changes and there is nothing stable in the UA-cam creator universe. I actually had to stop watching videos like this, and just make content. Focusing on these creator tips drove me crazy, was a constant slog and never lead to any real growth. My videos were averaging over 1k once i hit 1k subs in a month from shorts than they died immediately i went from 38k view’s to 4 but my content never changed
I upload consistently but my views are unpredictable, some days I get lots and some days I get very few, do you think it has to deal with my targeted audience being more/less active on certain days?
Shorts can be unpredictable for many channels. Some people have had success with reuploading shorts that didn’t do well the first time, deleting the old one. That said, the shorts still need to be something people want to watch. Keep an eye on your audience retention, it should be high. Focus hard on that first couple of seconds to stop them from scrolling. Also make sure your titles have enough information in them to tell UA-cam what’s going on.

I started uploading in december with very good results for a new channel (100 subs, near 1000 views a day). From the 1th of january all my shorts get 0 views and 2 or 3 impressions. That's frustrating
I have a question, does UA-cam shadowban if you post too many shorts in a short period of time? I saw that one or two shorts that i repurposed from tiktok got like 1k-2k each and so i went on a rampage of repurposing content to UA-cam. But recently I have been getting zero views even though its all very similar content.

Yes algorithm is broken. I started shorts content creation 2 weeks ago, and even though some died off after 400+ views (my fault as content isnt good), i have a few that have gathered 5k views with good retention but for some reasons have plateau’ed. Dont know whats going on.
@DeeNimmin a week ago we were getting decent viewership and slowly increasing our average views per video but suddenly anything we posted stopped getting any views. No video was being shown to any of our subscribers. I know cause I subbed to this channel from another account to check. My videos always reached subscribers but no longer. I know for a fact our videos are going to be watched if UA-cam simply showed them. Is this some kind of ban on our channel or something? I am worried because we haven't stopped posting content despite no viewership. All recent views are basically ours. Do you know anything about this?
Your uploads will not be shown to all subscribers. Only the ones UA-cam thanks will watch will see it along with subs with ALL notifications turned on. Also, low quality shorts are not going to cut it these days. You’re not adding much to yours to make them original or interesting. You need to make them interesting and add to them if you’re building on other people’s content. Last, delete poorly performing shorts and upload again. Then again if necessary.
Having the same issue...and seeing a lot of other people with the same issue....seems most common among channels below 1000 subs, something has to be wrong.
@Adesanmi Adekuoroye didn't think about people using clips from others people videos. So I agree with you. It kinda sucks when you're making original content though but I get it 👊
I've figured out a little trick. Sometimes I'll post and the Algorithm won't cycle my shorts through the shorts page. (You'll be able to tell if it's only 1 to 100 views) I'll just delete the video, completely re-upload it, and the second time usually gets me over 1k views. This saves me from having to make new content and having my channel look bad with videos that only have 100 views
Is this still working? I was doing that and then all of a sudden after about seven videos in it no longer works. I would post a video like 10 different times to before it took about three times and then all of a sudden within 20 minutes. You would know if you’re going to hit thousands of use
@SHANNONIGAINS It's not like the trick expires or is fixed. It's all about the algorithm. I look up the best times to post and then post at that time. Sometimes it even still gives me 0 to a 100 views. But I just recycle the video until it gets to the amount of views that I want. Better to delete and repost a video until it gets a good amount of views instead of having to remake content only to get 3 views.
You mentioned short about 40 times. Damn... I couldn't keep count of the shorts mentioned but it was a lot, at least we know what the video is about now #shorts 😰😅
So I appreciate the clear and simple video but you are mostly giving speculations of what you believe what's going on. I don't feel that you are 100% informed of the recent changes that are happening with the algorithm. Not trying to be nasty just giving my point of view cause I watched the video seeking for actual answers and don't feel like I got that out of this video. Hopefully newer content down the road. Thanks for your comment. Did you see the tweet I put on the screen? That’s Todd, he works at UA-cam and his team literally makes the algorithm. He explained the algorithm change at VidCon in detail. You can find a video of it online or in his tweet history, it’s worth a watch if you want more detailed information about the change. My version is condensed but the info is the same, and could be one of the reasons you may no longer be getting views. Any change to the algorithm can send things in either direction for various channels. This was a huge algorithm update. It’s also important to note that this video is for people who were getting a lot of views and now get almost nothing. Getting low views to begin with stems from other issues, that’s not what this video is about.
One of my shorts has had almost 200,000 views in the 3 weeks since uploading. Averaging 7/8,000 per day. It did 40,000 in the 48 hours up to yesterday then - yep - you guessed it - it fell off a cliff. Guess how many today? Big fat zero! Totally inexplicable!!!
Live by Shorts, die by Shorts. 😂 There seems to be a shelf life for many of them. Some get picked up again later, most don’t. Most Shorts are generally low effort content so I don’t expect them to live forever unless they go viral.
@@DeeNimmin There were 4/5 other shorts moving steadily up in the last few days too - they died (were killed) too! Looks more like they 'throttled' the whole channel - which happened a few weeks ago too - and lasted for 3/4 days! When they came back the behaviour was just like before the 'throttling'. Feels like they have something in the algo which attempts to maintain appropriate view counts / subs etc according to the channel size...I'll get back to you in a few days once/if they turn the switch back on🙂PS: I was a data/computer scientist in a former life ;-)

I'm having big-time trouble getting my short video views! especially I feel challenged after UA-cam shorts started monetization, guess what barely any views in my shorts!!
I'm not really a creator but I've an uploaded video on my channel who get 100k views. and these views stop around July 2021 when UA-cam short was released So... yeah if anyone are new creator they absolutely have to create short to make them know. Others creator don't have to be worried cause they have solid fidelity of person who follow them.
They don’t have to make up for it. Algorithm changes can swing in our favor or against it. It’s the viewer they are most concerned about, and how to make them watch longer.
@@DeeNimmin “make up for it” doesn’t mean reparations. But being a microscopic channel right now, it really hammered my views. I had a short do really well, but it killed mymy long form views. So, I deleted all shorts. If I do a short video now that’s 60 seconds or less, I’ll release it normally or on TikTok. Making up for it would be apologizing for being careless. Yes, careless. How did they “not know” That’s what would happen? BS.

Hello Dee Nmmin I watched all of your videos that talk about the right strategies to increase views on short clips, but I didn't find a solution to my problem. About a week ago I started posting short videos about (The Last of Us) but I didn't notice any explosion in views, although I was very careful to change the duration of each video and download it at 1080 60fps can you give me a perfect tip to work out
1) Let’s Play shorts are generally not going to do well. Some people have success, most don’t. It’s not entertaining enough for a short these days. Unless it’s an epic moment or you’re really good, you’re probably going to get mixed results. 2) Get the game name into your titles and descriptions. Your titles are not telling UA-cam anything. You want to give UA-cam all the info you can to help get your videos in front of the right audience.

Likes and comments don’t matter much. Unless people are watching almost all of your short and it’s a relevant topic that is of interest, it’s not going to grow. You’re also not owed a viral video. You earn them by learning your craft.
@@DeeNimmin I did an experiment today. I uploaded similar Asmr origami videos where they premieres every hour. I noticed that my earlier uploads today got more views than the later ones. I wonder why this is.
Shorts just seem to do good at random for me at this point. Sometimes I upload them and they get from 1k-10k views and then the next couple literally get 0 views. Like it just doesn’t show mine to ANYONE sometimes. At one point about 5 months ago I was getting a consistent 1.5k-3k views and then one do it just completely dropped off. Really sucks.
So strange thing, on my main acc my shorts always would get between 100 and 500 views, and my short videos,(not shorts just short videos under 60 secs) got between 20 and 30 views, but lately it's totally 180d and the are doing the opposite
When I release shorts they (usually) rack up a couple thousand views in an hour but then views stop so fast and abruptly it’s like someone hit a light switch… why do I keep hitting this ceiling? Why and how do the views just stop on a dime?
Could be a few reasons, but without digging into your channel my first thoughts would be 1) They showed it to everyone they thought would like it. At that point they saw how they reacted and decided people were not reacting positively enough. Check your watch time on it. 2) It only went out to your subscribers. No idea how many subs you have. 3) UA-cam is putting them in front of the wrong audience because you have a mix of content on your channel and UA-cam is confused. 4) There’s only so much interest in the topics you’re choosing. Probably one or more of those.
@@DeeNimmin I only have 364 subs, if Im being honest with myself I’ve probably confused the hell out of UA-cam. I cover current events so it’s a pretty wide variety of topics. The watch time and like ratio are both usually over 90% which I guess is pretty good.

Hello guys. I'm a UK creator and I've been posting shorts for a while related to street photography in London. So far most of the viewers of my channel were from UK and usually a short got 5k views. Two weeks ago I came to Italy for holiday and suddenly my shorts are not getting any views from UK, but mostly from Italy. This is affecting the number of views obvously. I've set the country manually in YT app, tried to upload with a VPN, but it didn't work. Does anyone know more about this ?

Shorts videos are really erratic man, one moment am getting 1k plus views then next moment am getting 50 views, yes the shorts videos have made my channel grow faster but this inconsistency in views is quite annoying and draining to say the least, and I post pretty much every single day. I make tips for ps5 & xbox series

I have started to notice this too.
This is the second time this had happened to me. The first time lasted just a couple of days, but this time(which is about a month later) it's been going on for almost a week. On November 11th, I was averaging 15K views a day, since November 11th, I have struggled to get 15 views a day. I KNOW it's not the actual content. The last time it fixed itself, I went back and deleted one of the underperforming shorts, then reuploaded it with the same title, tags, and description. It got a regular amount of views. During the downtime, it got 5 views, when it fixed itself, it got 2500.
When it's working correctly, 90% of my views on shorts come from the shorts feed, when it's not working correctly, I get one of two views from the shorts feed and that's it.
Also when it's working correctly, a huge percentage of the shorts views are from non-subscribers when it's not working, more than 95% of my views come from subscribers.
Very frustrating!
It’s a work in progress with a lot of variables. Didn’t watch your videos so I don’t know what you’re making, but what I have been seeing is shorts that are of low quality or not original seem to be getting less traction currently. Make sure you’re putting up original content that looks good and has a good title.
Other than that, keep going. They will eventually get it all worked out.

The algorithm is either broken or programmed to try and bully new channels away... it literally shows some shorts to only two people... TWO! and both these people watched the entire thing... Good short, good title, good hook. Doesn't matter if no-one even sees it...

@MrWolfClips nope. It went well for some time again. But now I again have a bunch of shorts with ridiculous high click rate (70-80%) and watch time (90-110%), but youtube just doesn't show it to people.... it gets hardly any views and it's destroying my channel. And there's nothing you can do.

Guys if you're still getting 0 views on your shorts just delete them and upload them again.
try to do this for at least 3 times a day at different hours, and if that doesn't work so just wait for tomorrow and try again.
do this until it works, youtube algorithm has some serious problems right now so we have to work around it.
This works. I made a short about this strategy a while back.
It has something to do with the audience they are testing at the moment. Different time is sometimes a different audience. They are still dialing shorts in.

UA-cam needs some help with their algorithm. It really shouldn’t be this hard.
It’s a work in progress. The best thing to keep in mind, is that the algo is for the viewer, not us as creators.

Bruh Idk I thought I got shadowbanned, I uploaded 2 videos both had nearly 1k views in the first 5 mins lots of likes compared to normal, I uploaded 1 more video, then boom none of them got a single view or like in the next day, this was all in a span of 2 hours uploading 3 videos, my views just stopped.

I've only had one short do really well but I have never gained a subscriber from a single UA-cam short, yet with long form I've grown from zero to 450 subs in a month and a half, which for my niche is relatively solid growth. It seems like my shorts are just pushed out to entirely unrelated audiences that don't know about the sort of niche gaming content I post and it ends up being pointless. Meanwhile the same exact content on TikTok gets 1/4 the amount of views but I actually get followers from it. As far as I'm concerned, shorts don't work for everyone and they need to fix the algorithm more, I'll keep trying but long form seems to be what gets the subs for me.

I posted a short recently that absolutely blew up with about 1.1k views and then completely stopped getting any views. For reference, I had 1 subscriber and the most views I had on any of my 4ish videos were around 200. I'm beginning to think the shorts get pulled in and out of rotation based on likes and dislikes because the only change I noticed before the views stopped pouring in was a few dislikes in a row. The likes we're slowly climbing their way up to 15, as soon as a few dislikes came in, it was like they stopped showing it to people.
I started I had 4 shorts that just kept blowing up but this recent has only had 13-14 views in like 14-15 hours
I explain all of that in about video. It’s not based on likes and dislikes, it’s all based on video performance and relevance. Traffic sources can also change for videos.
If you were doing well and it died, they may have simply run out of people to show it to based on who they believe your audience is. If you lots of different types of videos on your channel, this is what can happen as a result, as you have a segmented audience, which isn’t helpful to UA-cam.

There's definitely something weird going on with the shorts. I make some shorts that I believe are well made and they get a good initial reaction and then dive to not views all of a sudden. It's not even gradual.
Possibly going to some subscribers first then dying off if they don’t respond well enough. What percentage of them are completing the video?
Also, look at impressions. That’s how many people it was shown to.
@@DeeNimmin My average percentage viewed on the worst case scenario is 80% but usually they are between 90-110%. I by no means have a large channel but on my best performing shorts I've seen them go up by the second then just drop. Maybe it's just the nature of how shorts work.
@@Vanfernal I'm experiencing the same thing. My shorts often don't even got to my subscribers, just to literally everyone except my target audience so even if they get 90% view duration they die out cos they're not getting to the right people even when I hashtag it correctly

You see my analytics graphs and it's a complete and sudden drop in views after sometimes getting thousands of views in a very short time.

Shorts are BROKEN! I was getting consistent views around 1k then all of a sudden 2 views or 'no views' for the past few days. Ive tried to find other people having this issue and it seems unusually plentiful. Not changing content, not changing upload times, just a random total drop off of shorts views.......The most peculiar thing is I saw one of my shorts show up on the regular feed of my personal channel (the one I use to watch youtube). I double checked to make sure that it is properly a short (right format, not too long) and it is! It has the shorts logo and it is still listed in my shorts section. Its as if UA-cam is accidentally pushing shorts into regular feeds which is why they aren't getting any views (or not showing them at all). Would love more discussion and to hear from others who are having this same issue....because there definitely seems to be a major issue....

Then you literally say "IDK Maybe".....Everything after that about the algorithm change is just speculation. Your 2nd point about notification changes doesn't fully apply to my situation as the majority of my views were coming from non-subscribers (I only have 500). And your 3rd point about competition isn't something new. That might drop your view count but not literally off a cliff....My last shorts numbers were the something like [7000; 900; 3000; 4000; 2000; 2; 2; 2; 0; 1; 0; 1] An influx in competition wouldn't have that kind of impact

Seems like a lot of us are on the same boat with no fix in sight. Makes me feel like UA-cam is just blacklisting/targeting certain channels just because at this point! Why would videos suddenly stop being shown on the Shorts Feed for no apparent reason. I literally got almost 100% of my views from Shorts Feed and it ranged from 1000-4000 views per video. Now for the past week I've been getting single digit views or none at all almost as if UA-cam decided to stop pushing my videos. Right when things were starting to pick up for me viewer and subscriber wise I'm shelved!

I’m the last 1-2 days my channel has completely fallen apart, because most of my fanbase is from shorts, and my shorts went from getting around 2k views each to 8 views each, and i lost around 10 subs, and went from getting 10k views per day to 400 per day, and I went from getting hundreds of thousands of views an hour to around 5 views an hour. And I’m extremely upset and confused about it thinking YT was legit refusing to put my shorts on the shorts feed, so thank you alot and HOPEFULLY 🙏 YT will work properly.

$hit the algorithm change helped my shorts 10 fold. i had only 1 short get over 66k as soon as they did the change all them.old shorts i had loaded up a month ago went boom. over the last 28 days i have had a million views, most coming from shorts.

I'm a small youtuber and I just started producing shorts which were gaining from 2k to 200k views average, which for me is my biggest success ever. But just a few days ago, I noticed my shorts getting below 1k views, struggling to climb above that mark which really unnerved me... My videos were averaging over 1k once i hit 1k subs in a month from shorts than they died immediately i went from 38k view’s to 4 but my content never changed
I upload consistently but my views are unpredictable, some days I get lots and some days I get very few, do you think it has to deal with my targeted audience being more/less active on certain days?
Shorts can be unpredictable for many channels. Some people have had success with reuploading shorts that didn’t do well the first time, deleting the old one.
That said, the shorts still need to be something people want to watch. Keep an eye on your audience retention, it should be high. Focus hard on that first couple of seconds to stop them from scrolling. Also make sure your titles have enough information in them to tell UA-cam what’s going on.

I started uploading in december with very good results for a new channel (100 subs, near 1000 views a day). From the 1th of january all my shorts get 0 views and 2 or 3 impressions. That's frustrating
Try changing the titles. Sometimes that works.
I have a question, does UA-cam shadowban if you post too many shorts in a short period of time? I saw that one or two shorts that i repurposed from tiktok got like 1k-2k each and so i went on a rampage of repurposing content to UA-cam. But recently I have been getting zero views even though its all very similar content.

Yes algorithm is broken. I started shorts content creation 2 weeks ago, and even though some died off after 400+ views (my fault as content isnt good), i have a few that have gathered 5k views with good retention but for some reasons have plateau’ed. Dont know whats going on.
@DeeNimmin a week ago we were getting decent viewership and slowly increasing our average views per video but suddenly anything we posted stopped getting any views. No video was being shown to any of our subscribers. I know cause I subbed to this channel from another account to check. My videos always reached subscribers but no longer.
I know for a fact our videos are going to be watched if UA-cam simply showed them. Is this some kind of ban on our channel or something? I am worried because we haven't stopped posting content despite no viewership. All recent views are basically ours. Do you know anything about this?
Also our most recent shorts upload isn't even showing up on the channel's short shelf or even the video shelf. It is basically not appearing at all!

Your uploads will not be shown to all subscribers. Only the ones UA-cam thanks will watch will see it along with subs with ALL notifications turned on.
Also, low quality shorts are not going to cut it these days. You’re not adding much to yours to make them original or interesting. You need to make them interesting and add to them if you’re building on other people’s content.
Last, delete poorly performing shorts and upload again. Then again if necessary.
I see plenty of recent shorts in your feed. You need to improve your titles.
UA-cam isn’t fair in that regards.

I've figured out a little trick. Sometimes I'll post and the Algorithm won't cycle my shorts through the shorts page. (You'll be able to tell if it's only 1 to 100 views)
I'll just delete the video, completely re-upload it, and the second time usually gets me over 1k views. This saves me from having to make new content and having my channel look bad with videos that only have 100 views

Is this still working? I was doing that and then all of a sudden after about seven videos in it no longer works. I would post a video like 10 different times to before it took about three times and then all of a sudden within 20 minutes. You would know if you’re going to hit thousands of use
@SHANNONIGAINS It's not like the trick expires or is fixed. It's all about the algorithm. I look up the best times to post and then post at that time. Sometimes it even still gives me 0 to a 100 views. But I just recycle the video until it gets to the amount of views that I want. Better to delete and repost a video until it gets a good amount of views instead of having to remake content only to get 3 views.
You mentioned short about 40 times. Damn... I couldn't keep count of the shorts mentioned but it was a lot, at least we know what the video is about now #shorts 😰😅

So I appreciate the clear and simple video but you are mostly giving speculations of what you believe what's going on. I don't feel that you are 100% informed of the recent changes that are happening with the algorithm. Not trying to be nasty just giving my point of view cause I watched the video seeking for actual answers and don't feel like I got that out of this video. Hopefully newer content down the road. Thanks for your comment. Did you see the tweet I put on the screen? That’s Todd, he works at UA-cam and his team literally makes the algorithm. He explained the algorithm change at VidCon in detail. You can find a video of it online or in his tweet history, it’s worth a watch if you want more detailed information about the change.
My version is condensed but the info is the same, and could be one of the reasons you may no longer be getting views. Any change to the algorithm can send things in either direction for various channels. This was a huge algorithm update.
It’s also important to note that this video is for people who were getting a lot of views and now get almost nothing. Getting low views to begin with stems from other issues, that’s not what this video is about.

Why is it that subscriber's for shorts are not watching long form content should I do away with shorts am confused 🤔
One of my shorts has had almost 200,000 views in the 3 weeks since uploading. Averaging 7/8,000 per day. It did 40,000 in the 48 hours up to yesterday then - yep - you guessed it - it fell off a cliff. Guess how many today? Big fat zero! Totally inexplicable!!!
Live by Shorts, die by Shorts. 😂 There seems to be a shelf life for many of them. Some get picked up again later, most don’t.
Most Shorts are generally low effort content so I don’t expect them to live forever unless they go viral.
@@DeeNimmin There were 4/5 other shorts moving steadily up in the last few days too - they died (were killed) too! Looks more like they 'throttled' the whole channel - which happened a few weeks ago too - and lasted for 3/4 days! When they came back the behaviour was just like before the 'throttling'. Feels like they have something in the algo which attempts to maintain appropriate view counts / subs etc according to the channel size...I'll get back to you in a few days once/if they turn the switch back on🙂PS: I was a data/computer scientist in a former life ;-)
I’m confused because I was getting 1-2k on average, while now I’m getting around 5 views on each short
Try deleting those low view ones and uploading again.
@@DeeNimmin thanks for the reply, but I’ve been dealing with this issue for around 2 weeks, and during those 2 weeks I keep deleting and reuploading them, but it never seems to work

a lot of us are hitting not interested on every short just to get them out of our timelines. i hate them thoroughly.

what about the auto play on smartphone? does that count as a view for the creator?
Well the problem is that when I'm uploading my UA-cam shorts in the morning, it gains a lot of views, but on evening and night, I only have 0 views

I'm not really a creator but I've an uploaded video on my channel who get 100k views. and these views stop around July 2021 when UA-cam short was released
So... yeah if anyone are new creator they absolutely have to create short to make them know. Others creator don't have to be worried cause they have solid fidelity of person who follow them.

They don’t have to make up for it. Algorithm changes can swing in our favor or against it. It’s the viewer they are most concerned about, and how to make them watch longer.
@@DeeNimmin “make up for it” doesn’t mean reparations. But being a microscopic channel right now, it really hammered my views. I had a short do really well, but it killed mymy long form views. So, I deleted all shorts. If I do a short video now that’s 60 seconds or less, I’ll release it normally or on TikTok. Making up for it would be apologizing for being careless. Yes, careless. How did they “not know” That’s what would happen? BS.

I miss the option it worked 2 wks ago I made one. but now theirs no option to make a short grrr I made a clip new option but not able to upload on UA-cam now?

Hello Dee Nmmin I watched all of your videos that talk about the right strategies to increase views on short clips, but I didn't find a solution to my problem. About a week ago I started posting short videos about (The Last of Us) but I didn't notice any explosion in views, although I was very careful to change the duration of each video and download it at 1080 60fps can you give me a perfect tip to work out
1) Let’s Play shorts are generally not going to do well. Some people have success, most don’t. It’s not entertaining enough for a short these days. Unless it’s an epic moment or you’re really good, you’re probably going to get mixed results.
2) Get the game name into your titles and descriptions. Your titles are not telling UA-cam anything. You want to give UA-cam all the info you can to help get your videos in front of the right audience.

That sad I’ve tried any type of shorts even ones that got hundreds of likes and comments and never got viral and my watch time is great too … just UA-cam suck I wanna quit
Likes and comments don’t matter much. Unless people are watching almost all of your short and it’s a relevant topic that is of interest, it’s not going to grow. You’re also not owed a viral video. You earn them by learning your craft.

@@DeeNimmin I did an experiment today. I uploaded similar Asmr origami videos where they premieres every hour. I noticed that my earlier uploads today got more views than the later ones. I wonder why this is.
Shorts just seem to do good at random for me at this point. Sometimes I upload them and they get from 1k-10k views and then the next couple literally get 0 views. Like it just doesn’t show mine to ANYONE sometimes. At one point about 5 months ago I was getting a consistent 1.5k-3k views and then one do it just completely dropped off. Really sucks.
So strange thing, on my main acc my shorts always would get between 100 and 500 views, and my short videos,(not shorts just short videos under 60 secs) got between 20 and 30 views, but lately it's totally 180d and the are doing the opposite
When I release shorts they (usually) rack up a couple thousand views in an hour but then views stop so fast and abruptly it’s like someone hit a light switch… why do I keep hitting this ceiling? Why and how do the views just stop on a dime?
Could be a few reasons, but without digging into your channel my first thoughts would be
1) They showed it to everyone they thought would like it. At that point they saw how they reacted and decided people were not reacting positively enough. Check your watch time on it.
2) It only went out to your subscribers. No idea how many subs you have.
3) UA-cam is putting them in front of the wrong audience because you have a mix of content on your channel and UA-cam is confused.
4) There’s only so much interest in the topics you’re choosing.
Probably one or more of those.
@@DeeNimmin I only have 364 subs, if Im being honest with myself I’ve probably confused the hell out of UA-cam. I cover current events so it’s a pretty wide variety of topics. The watch time and like ratio are both usually over 90% which I guess is pretty good.
Usually my shorts are a mix of random people and my subs

I have uploaded a couple longer format videos but I do not see the clip icon, I also can't find out if it's because my channel is rather new or not.
I’m sad now I miss the very happy feeling of waking up getting over 3k views on a short and getting extremely hyper now I get no views I hope I can recover from this and get thousands of views in my shorts again 😔
Hello guys.
I'm a UK creator and I've been posting shorts for a while related to street photography in London.
So far most of the viewers of my channel were from UK and usually a short got 5k views.
Two weeks ago I came to Italy for holiday and suddenly my shorts are not getting any views from UK, but mostly from Italy.
This is affecting the number of views obvously.
I've set the country manually in YT app, tried to upload with a VPN, but it didn't work.
Does anyone know more about this ?
My shorts have disappeared completely and my recommended views returned to what they were recommending about 5 years ago.
Tiktok algorithm is so much better than shorts i got 1.4m views on a vid and only a few 100 on yt shorts same video
