Loathe those screw-in buttons, I can not recall the number of those buttons I have lost over the years.

i noticed the triangle thingy from wherr the strap attaches to have a black scratch guard what do you call that

I'm trying to think of what you mean. The strap itself doesn't have a scratch guard, that's just part of the attachment mechanism.
