It's kinda weird..Swedish being my mother language..it's really easy to learn to sing along to this..and it feels like i understand it, although i only understand for real only a few half a sentences here and there..but i can sing along to it faultlessly. It's a beautiful way to learn another language. That's the way i started learning Spanish once upon a time when living there..just singing along to their beautiful music. Music always gives you a first connection, a DESIRE to understand.
@ I´m swedish and have no problem reading both norweigan and danish. Some words are unique to our languages but usually pretty easy to figure out what they mean. A bit more tricky is that a few words are spelled the same but have a completely different meaning in our languages. Rolig means fun i swedish but calm in danish for instance. When it comes to spoken language Norweigan is very easy for me to understand. The intonation is a bit different but it almost feels like a dialect of the same language. Spoken danish is harder for me. The intonation feels more different and they also have a tendency to not pronounce the whole words. In the area around Copenhagen they speak a pretty "clean" version that I usually understand, and vice versa. But in other parts of Denmark I sometimes have to resort to english. I recently went to Iceland and it was fascinating on so many levels. The language feels very familiar - like you really should understand what they are saying but don´t. Shorter things like road signs and menus I could usually figure out, but understanding a longer text like a newspaper-article was hard.
@@bustin9549 So many people lack attention from others or have some hidden psychological issues that they have to resort to turning music loud in their cars to make some stranger turn their head to them. See a specialist.
I came across this on a playlist because I absolutely love Nordic music when I meditate. I don't get lost in the words because I can't understand them. It's the beat, the Rhythm, the melody and how it changes that helps transform my meditation into a celestial experience as I connect with my guides, angels and Spirit animals. This was amazing.... I can't get it loud enough!! I can't wait to be stuck in slow traffic or at a stoplight and play the song loud with my Moonroof open 😁

@@jakesanchez6621 I think I know what you mean. There are far too many people who broadcast their inner spiritual lives like they announce their recent Starbucks coffee purchase. OTOH, the mainstream religious and scientific outlooks on life have made it challenging for those of us who have spiritual paths that don't fully align with what's considered orthodox or acceptable. So some people overcompensate by trying to make non-mainstream spiritual paths trendy by talking about their own path all the time. And yeah, it does tend to be a pattern amongst the Caucasian/white demographic to a point where I have to roll my eyes. It's kind of embarrassing, because such talk seems to cheapen the walk. I feel the same way about mainstream religion. If you have particular leanings, that's fine. Just quit yammering about it and let what you do speak for itself. But then, that's my view.
@@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 people like this only talk loudly about their spirituality because they're desperately hoping for someone to validate their experiences, usually due to a non-spiritual upbringing.
@@jakesanchez6621 Yeah, that's very true. I know I went through a phase like that in the beginning, where I wanted others to talk to, to make sure I wasn't the only one. And that was me transitioning from Xian to what I am now. But I also know that not everyone is into the same stuff I'm into, and sometimes, ya gotta walk parts of your path alone, to really understand yourself better. And how can you do that if you're constantly seeking external validation? Sometimes "hermit mode" is the best way to learn.
There must be something about this music. I've listened to old school thrash since the 80s and I love this. I put it on for my 22 year old son who is a big fan of black metal and he was all, "Yeah, this is on my playlist."
My brother went to her show yesterday, he said she was amazing. Heilung right after too. What a luck to live in a country where these artists perform! It must have been so nice!
Yeah, saw Lili Rrefrain, Eivor and Heilung last weekend in Glasgow, Scotland. It was one of the best music experiences of my life. An almost magical evening.
I've been to her concert in 2022 for the first time. She and her band is really giving it all, I got the feeling they now their stuff very well. Before the concert I had listen to her for a couple of years at YT. I got such a big dose of Eivor after that concert, it went several months before I did listen in at YT again:)
Ah, delightfully similar to Norwegian dialects. To think that Faroese and Islandic is almost the same as the roots of the Norwegian dialect, it almost feels magical to listen to these languages, and read them.

Ich laufe im Nebel Warst du jemals so wandern wie ich In der grauenvollen Totenstille? Hast du die Straßenlichter gesehen Die die Stadt beleuchten? Hast du gesehen was sie dort taten?

It's kinda weird..Swedish being my mother language..it's really easy to learn to sing along to this..and it feels like i understand it, although i only understand for real only a few half a sentences here and there..but i can sing along to it faultlessly. It's a beautiful way to learn another language. That's the way i started learning Spanish once upon a time when living there..just singing along to their beautiful music. Music always gives you a first connection, a DESIRE to understand.
LoveAge Agreed. I am trying to understand French by songs. :)))

I blast this in my car as often as possible so my fellow Americans know what *real* music is.
I like driving through a neighborhood when the bass is dropping.
I'm so proud of you and this makes me so happy. I too live in America, and if I drove, I would do the same.
All music is real music though
@@bustin9549 So many people lack attention from others or have some hidden psychological issues that they have to resort to turning music loud in their cars to make some stranger turn their head to them. See a specialist.
Well done
I came across this on a playlist because I absolutely love Nordic music when I meditate. I don't get lost in the words because I can't understand them. It's the beat, the Rhythm, the melody and how it changes that helps transform my meditation into a celestial experience as I connect with my guides, angels and Spirit animals. This was amazing.... I can't get it loud enough!! I can't wait to be stuck in slow traffic or at a stoplight and play the song loud with my Moonroof open 😁
I'm sorry I mean no offense but this is the whitest comment I've ever read.
@@jakesanchez6621 anytime someone starts a sentence off with I don't mean any offense, everyone knows they absolutely do. You posted to be a douche and make yourself feel better and draw attention to yourself. 👏 Am I offended? No.... I'm laughing because your comment is so ignorant it's funny. Thanks Jake!
My goodness, what is this devilment? The sheer beauty of the imagery, yet it still can't outweigh the beauty of the music itself. Absolutely perfect
I know right I see it even more as psychic🖤

One of the best songs I've ever heard! And I say that as someone who has been listening to Heavy Metal for 35 years. Nothing else than metal.
Yep, i'm a Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hendrix..etc.. type of person. This song is just amazing!
Yeah I don't listen to music at all but god damn this woman sings good
btw, there's a metal cover to this song by Ignea (actually this is what brought me here!)
There must be something about this music. I've listened to old school thrash since the 80s and I love this. I put it on for my 22 year old son who is a big fan of black metal and he was all, "Yeah, this is on my playlist."
I am too a heavy metal lover and feel the same. Probably because of the dark atmosphere and low beats, like a doom metal somehow resemblance 🤔
I saw her live yesterday. She really gave me goose bumps. But Heilung after that was just indescribable
My brother went to her show yesterday, he said she was amazing. Heilung right after too. What a luck to live in a country where these artists perform! It must have been so nice!
Man I bet that show was something to behold. Where did you see them? I wanna go so bad
I've seen was Iron Maiden in 2019. But sometimes when I'm home alone my neighbors also get to listen to Heilung, Wardruna, and Eivør.
She is so magical.
She is probably from another world...
I adore this.
I Eidor this.
Started crying while listening to it and I'm still very shaken; please never stop making music [and the video is breathtaking!]
Stop cutting onions during an earthquake! :(
I jest. I understand exactly how you feel - her music is indescribable.
My Germanic soul loves everything about this song.
Here's some words on faroese :
Vinur : Friend, Tokuni : Mist/Fog, Kvirruni : Death, Skuggar : Shadows, Burtur : Gonne, Eingin : No one, Sært : See, Gangi : Walking, Skilur : Understand, Endaleysu : Endless! Thank you!
Ah, delightfully similar to Norwegian dialects. To think that Faroese and Islandic is almost the same as the roots of the Norwegian dialect, it almost feels magical to listen to these languages, and read them.

A Shetland "guddick" (riddle) in Norn, which Jakob Jakobsen heard told on Unst, the northernmost island in Shetland, in the 1890s. The same riddle is also known from the Faroe Islands, Norway, Iceland, and a variation also occurs in England.
I thought "death" would be something like "død" or "døder".
It feels nice to listen to the song and don't understand the lyrics and just create your own meaning of them for yourself and make it sound even better
[ that's what most of us, non-native-english-speakers did when we were kids and teens when all western music was already available but had no clue what they were about then :D :) ]
I'd normally agree but being Faroese and able to relate to the subject matter of this song I'd say that would be tough in this specific case.

In the mist
Walking in the mist
Alone in the deep silence
Can´t see any cairns
Gone are all the houses
I call out but no one answers
In between the gaps
In the mist-clad night
I sense shadows
Seems as though something is moving there
I call out but no one answers me -
Friend, friend can you see me
Walking here in the mist
Have you wandered as i have
In the silence deep as death
Did you see the street lights
Shining in the village
Did you see what they did there
Do you remember what the state of things were
Was anyone looking for me
Friend, friend can you see me
Walking here in the mist
Have you wandered as i have
In the silence deep as death
Have you as I have
Walked in the mist
Strayed from the beaten path
Near the mountain edge
Do you know this loneliness
Friend, friend do you understand me
Do you know any secret path
Have you wandered as I have
in the endless uncertainty
Friend, friend do you understand me
Don´t you know any secret path
Have you wandered as I have
In the endless mist

A brilliant song and a great atmospheric video.
its a copy from MADONNA - frozen
Similar video but very different songs. Also the topographical places are different.
Which is a rip off from Garden of Allah in which starred Marlene Dietrich.
Gonzalo Arvietti not a copy a homage.
+Trey No, word homage works only for Madonut. She does tributes, reinventions, changes imaginery into art, she's inspired. Everyone else is just a rip off, reductive copy, plagiarism. of Mummydonna of course, not the originator. Every Madinosaur fan will tell you that. Maybe not this gonzalo, as this troll account is already inactive, but maybe will respond from another 100th account.
I think the majority of your fans prefer the Faroese version 😍 it feels more natural, intense, wild and free. It’s also great to learn a bit of Faroese through your songs ♥️

Hast du gesehen was sie dort taten?
Weißt du wie die Dinge waren?
Hat jemals jemand nach mir gesucht?
Freund, Freund kannst du mich sehen?
Ich laufe im Nebel
Warst du jemals so wandern wie ich
In der grauenvollen Totenstille?
Bist du wie ich
Im Nebel gelaufen
Abgeirrt vom gezeichneten Boden
In der Nähe der Bergeshänge
Kennst du diese Einsamkeit?
Freund, Freund verstehst du mich?
Kennst du einen geheimen Weg?
Warst du jemals so wandern wie ich
In der unendlichen Verunsicherung?
Freund, Freund verstehst du mich?
Kennst du einen geheimen Weg?
