Oh man! Who is this beautiful 'forest-elf', she cannot be from this earth. It is simply not human to be so multi-talented and be able to enchant with such a superhumanly beautiful voice. I am at a lack of words. She has a unique style, writes such alluring 'scaled-down'/rather simply songs and performs them in a way that is...just. No, give up. I yield. She has simply put a spell on me - I am firmly in her grip! I discovered her recently and all of her songs are just fully immersed with such feelings. (Sure, I admit I like some songs more than others - I'm foremost a 'minor-guy'...but haven't seen or heard any of her performances that has had a lack, of anything). I've read a lot of comments on people having different opinions on whether the songs where she sings in English or Faroese are preferred. I can't say I really have an opinion on that matter though...probably since I partly don't tend to listen so much, or put too much emphasis on the lyrics - and partly since I tend to have a tough time hearing what people sing anyway. Regardless if it's in English, or 'even' Swedish which is my native tongue. A tendency where I seem to be the 'odd-one-out' on. (Perhaps it's because of my ADD - at least that's what 'they' say..? Who knows. Of course I can and do appreciate poetic lyrics when I'm able to read them - just like anyone else: and she has equally beautifully composed texts!). There's simply nothing I can come think of that I could possibly have a 'complaint' about - except for that it took me such a long time to discover her. Ah, I'm just rambling now... The Faroese must be proud of having produced such wonder! Cheers from Sweden everyone.

That is one of the many purposes of music: for the soul to find healing. And as I've discovered, we come back around to certain types of music just when we think we're "over" one genre or another. Wonderfully beautiful music! I thank this singer for showing the beautiful language of her country! Even though it is difficult to speak, the words sound as beautiful and peaceful as the language of angels.
So magic even when you don't understand what it says... you just feel magic, how music speaks with all the languages in the world, how beautifull it is !
Grazie Eivor, continua a cantare queste meravigliose canzoni nella tua lingua. Sei un Angelo venuto giù dal cielo. Ti amo. (Thanks Eivor , you keep singing these wonderful songs in your language . You are an angel came down from heaven . I love you.)
Eivor! Thank you for this wonderful song ❤ - as a Finn living in the USA and also knowing the German language plus Irish culture, I can say that this song speaks to me on many levels. I have added the Faroe Islands to my list of special places to visit! I have seen it when flying over it on transatlantic flights, beautiful islands to behold ❣
This is one of my favourites. I sometimes sit and look at Faroe islands at google Maps, playing this song and other in the background) The special landscape there, with Eivor singing, it's magic)
I have watched all 4 weeks and on all 4 sessions I have teared up. What an amazing week, loved the ending! Thank you for lifting my week again. The voice of a Valkyrie?! Xx
I'm absolutely trøllabundin by your music. It's so enchanting. I even understand some of the words, Swedish as I am. I love that U sing in your mother tounge. We've got enough of artists singing in english, even though they are from non-english countries.
Speaking as a language nerd and musician whose mother tongue is English, I completely agree! 😁😁 I don't speak a word of the Scandinavian languages, but I don't care. I love the sound of the Faroese language. It has a musical magic all its own, much like other languages I've heard and attempted to learn. Learning other languages as a US native has a schizoid stigma: you either are looked at in awe and envy because others want to learn even basic Spanish, just for example, and they can't quite grasp it. Or you get shaming looks by xenophobes because you don't want to just speak English, and they think that by learning other languages, we're not forcing immigrants to "assimilate," as if we're the Borg collective from "Star Trek." 🙄 There seems to be zero middle ground. And then there's comments like yours, which make me feel...vindicated, for lack of a better word. 😅
@@a.katherinesuetterlin3028 Thanks. Yeah, I think all of us misses out on many things when we don't embrace other cultures, even though we might not understand the language. With music we understand the feel it creates in us.

The beautiful night is glowing ashes
In a mass of stars the world awakes
Naked I stand
Alone on this spot
A man so fine but so timid
Warily approaches, watches
His hair as dark as seaweed,
his skin as fair as chrystalline stone
Be mine, be mine
Be mine, my world
You back away
Frightened, longing for bliss
Seduced I follow you
Stay with me
Sea and sky intertwine at the brims
Aroused your hands shiver
I enter your space
Feel who I am
Be mine, be mine
Be mine, my world
Locked the chest, hid the key
Sanctified it against sorcery
The man is now my sea
The night is no more
Spellbound he embraces me
I become his talisman
Everyone has left
And I am alone
My world, my world
My world, be mine
My skin, my capsule
I do not miss it
My skin, my capsule
I will never forget it

Musik kennt keine Grenzen. Danke!
🌼🌺❤️🌺🌼
Music like this goes through the ears and can be felt through the whole body.
Wonderful.
There is something familiarly ancient, almost spiritual in these songs. They make me relax like anything else.
Love this song so much. Greetings from Latvia❄
She is one of my favorite artists. I hope to see her on concert in Boulder Colorado Jan. 2022
Perfekcja w każdym calu :) Majstersztyk ......
Odkryłem dziś. Jestem również pod wrażeniem
Dear Eivør your dreamy voice keeps me replaying your songs over and over again. Is it strange to say that you are the nordic enya? Thank you for doing what you do and keep doing it. You do a great job Odinsdottir.
I am Bengali. I got zero idea what the song meant. But it really touches the soul. Such a soothing melody. I just cant stop listening.
Be mine
The beautiful night is glowing ashes
In a mass of stars the world awakes
Naked I stand
Alone on this spot
A man so fine but so timid
Warily approaches, watches
His hair as dark as seaweed,
His skin as fair as chrystalline stone
Be mine, be mine
Be mine, my world
You back away
Frightened, longing for bliss
Seduced I follow you
Stay with me
Sea and sky intertwine at the brims
Aroused your hands shiver
I enter your space
Feel who I am
Be mine, be mine
Be mine, my world
Locked the chest, hide the key
Sanctified it against sorcery
The man is now my sea
The night is no more
Spellbound embraces me
I become his talisman
Everyone has left
And I am alone
My world, my world
My world, be mine
My skin, my case
I do not miss it
My skin, my case
I will never forget it...
does your Name mean "daugther of Odin"?
Thank YOU 🙂✌️
Thanks!!
Merci

I didn't understand a word and had tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for this musical feast for the ears, simply fantastic.
Fantastic, innit? :)
Something calming, comforting about her voice, her music. Now I can add Eivor/Faroese to the list of what i listen too😢
Wonderfully beautiful music! I thank this singer for showing the beautiful language of her country! Even though it is difficult to speak, the words sound as beautiful and peaceful as the language of angels.
Don't even need to understand the words. Soo beautiful! And you can pretty much understand what it's all about ✨️
I love her music so much!
I don't understand what she is singing about, but it really helps me when I get anxiety, it's so calming :)
She is a beautiful beacon of light spreading her love.....thank you

Just had a wonderful cultural experience and a new favourite artist... This is one of the best songs I have heard in the 2010s.
Her voice and language are so enchanting.. i listen this on my work, really nice to dream away to the Faeröer islands ;)
Beautifull song , respect from Poland :) I love Faroe Islands and Iceland. I hope to visit Your country in my life :))
Alex Greenwolf a quanto pare siamo almeno in tre :)
Marcy Tiburon È splendida musica :)
Such a beatifull music. Such a beatiful words. What a deep meaning. I'm flying away when i listen. Just continue on repeat. Greating from Azerbaijan!
Thank you for sharing your amassing voice with us all
Whenever I feel sad and empty and full of anger,I just listen to this and it really melts my heart
This composition is heavenly. Love its ethereal quality. Much love from Seattle😍😍😍

Нужно только послушать эту же песню на альбоме "At The Heart Of A Selkie", который у Eivør следующий после Slør.
I became your fan! Unparalleled voice, soul-soothing music!
