Buddy is an icon who is one of the best guitar players, singers on the planet.!!!He has so much charisma, class and grace. Have seen you many times, my mentor, thanks for all the beautiful music.
If you don't know Buddy Guy is a national treasure, do your research and realize it on your own. This man has changed the lives of millions of musicians. The MVP of the Blues!
Buddy wanted to play, but nobody knew him. There was a contest at a popular nightclub, similar to an open mic night, and Muddy wanted Buddy to play, as he knew that Buddy could play - but Buddy was weak from hunger and was talking about going back to Louisiana. So Muddy made Buddy eat a salami sandwich - out in his car - before sending him in, to play. So, Buddy played and impressed everybody, and this not only helped Buddy get started, but established Muddy as a kind of godfather of the blues in Chicago. It's true, and plus, it's a great story. Buddy's playing inspired many of the crop of young white guitar players, especially English ones. Some American guys got lucky and learned from the Blues guys, but it was tough, and could be very dangerous. It's nice that you can learn it - and SEE much of it - on video. Enjoy the show.
Otis Rush was a massive influence on everybody. Buddy,Eric clapton,Peter Green they all wanted to sing like Otis. You can hear him in they re vain attempts
I've been looking for the part when Buddy mention Muddy save his career for years, because I remember him saying that in a documentary and nobody believe me that happened
@@SuperMikado282 Yeah true, even Clapton will agree to what you stated. Actually he has said in several interviews that only Bb king(interview was done when he was alive) and Buddy Guy are left carrying the true spirit of the blues alive.
Everybody talks about Buddy the guitar player. Can we just take a moment and acknowledge how great a blues singer this man is?
Made me want to fold up my tent, go home, and never sing again, he was so good.

As he mentions here, the great Otis Rush helped him before the great Muddy Waters did.
