Nostalgic food... btw you ate the kare kare wrong.... that shrimp paste on the side of the plate was suppose to be used to compensate for the lack of salt of the dish...
The kare-kare is the most popular Filipino dish in the Philippines. That dish has veggies oxtail meat tripe wig peanut butter sauce with bagoong known as shrimp paste The halo halo has all different types of flavors and the purple thing is called ube with shaved ice
I'm a filipino and the kare kare and adobo is our traditional food theres a two types of adobo theres an chicken adobo and pork adobo i think the soup that you said that theres more vegestables on it i think thats sinigang
That is my favorite food and How you pronounce kare kare is how each letter are pronounced all of them is how you pronounce but I live in Philippines and that is all of my favorite food love you guys
Kare-Kare is usually good when you have lots of the "bagoong" or salty shrimp paste. If the two of you ever come by Max Restaurant here in the Philippines you should try the Sizzling Tofu, it's good and occasionally spicy. Is there no Max Restaurant in the US? Lastly the gravy you tasted when you eat the Lechon Kawali is "Mang Tomas" sauce and it can be bought from any stores here in the Philippines, I think you can also buy it there in the US where they sell Filipino products.
Jolliebee’s are all over here in California... yes it’s hot dog pieces in the spaghetti and yes the sauce is more of a catsups taste to it... and a lot of people eat their spaghetti with catsup.
Hey guys LOL!! Halo halo means “mix mix “ in English... that’s why you gotta mix everything :) also this video was so fun to watch!! Hope to see you in sf !!
Hey, try playing toms world claw machine, timezone and Worlds of fun. Also the pro claw station in malate, manila! Enjoy your stay here in the philippines!
Awesome Video! Those foods looked good! The Halo Halo looked the best! The chicken atbtye beginning and the pork both looked good, too! Hope you have a great day!! 🐈
I have had all 3, Ox Tail, Beef Tongue and Tripe. My mom use to boil the Tripe, then batter it and deep fry it! It was delicious! Menudo is something that had tripe in it and that is spicy and delicious! I also like Beef Tongue! Boil it, peel it, slice it up and put it back in the broth with vegetables and noodles! Yummy!
Sinigang is sour since the soup is made with tamarind, it’s delicious though. I’m biased since I’m Filipino haha. The adobo was a little sour too since it’s made with soy sauce and vinegar. The brown thing in the kare-kare was fermented shrimp paste
The spaghetti does have cut up hot dogs in it. Apparently it's a very popular Filipino dish (Fun fact: there's a Jollibee in California). By the way, it's Halo-halo (Hall-oh Hall-oh). I'm not Filipino but I've heard people who are pronounce the word. Also, it's Sinigang (Sin-knee-gong), if I remember right, from what I've heard, and Ube (U like Uber and Be like Bay). Ube is purple yam.
I loved this video guys!!! My wife over the years has made me the same dishes you guys tried!! It was fun to watch your reactions, because it brought me back to the early years when I first got engaged to my wife and I went to the Philippines to meet my future extended family.. Thanks for the video guys!!! BTW I like the pork soup (That is what I call it, LOL) my wife makes it for me at least once a month, but Chris might like the way my wife makes it... She sometimes makes it sweet and sour and other times plain with a touch of hot spices, which I think Angel you would like it's not too spicy, it's just right. Take care guys!!!
GO TO TAGAYTAY AND BAGUIO IF YOU HAVE TIME. IT IS SO COOL THERE BECAUSE IT'S COLD AT BAGUIO AND GO TO TAGAYTAY SKY RANCH, THERE ARE MANY CARNIVAL GAMES AND RIDES THERE
Philippino people eat sweet ketchup and that's sweet spaghetti sauce.the name you said first on that drink dessert is the right way to say it. They have different ways to make adobo. They use soy sauce and vinegar and some time they put some sugar in it . Some 9f the adobo has like soy sauce and vinegar sauce. And your dessert in the bowl is what you first say .that purple stuff I'd ube.. no about the tripe in the peanutbutter sauce. I haven't seen it made with tripe. Not that people don't make it like that. But all the times I have eaten it , it never had tripe in it. My husband and kids eat tripe boiled then they put vinegar and pepper and salt . And eat it that way.
I think almost all of your subscribers are filipinos and i am filipino too...i love your videos 😀❤❤have a good day at the Philippines...we hope we can meet you guys😃😁💗❤
In halo-halo, you need to mix it up to taste the taste of that desert it's called halo-halo because in english it is mix-mix I hope you enjoy your days in the Philippines BTW I'm a Filipino and I really love the both of you
It's pronounced Sini- Gong (the sour soup) and we usually eat it with rice , the rice helps with the sour flavor but it's supposed to be sour lol. Also you were correct with saying Ha-Low Ha-Low, but the purple thing is a yam pronounced Oo-Beh. It's awesome to see you guys in Manila. I love how you guys are trying all of the local dishes (especially seeing Angel venturing out and sampling it).
Awesome vid guys! "Halo-halo" literally translates to "mix-mix," so i recommend, if you guys get it again, that you (*singing*) mix it all up, mix it all up! :DD
And it's adobo not adobow It's not sinigawng it's sinigang It's not Karie Karie It's Kare kare It's not lechown it's lechon And the white thing is raddish
Hi guys, really loved this video! Anywho, I'm not a fan of Jolliebee! I would have ordered the Half Fried Chicken from Max's instead. Okay Kare Kare; you could've told them to remove the Tripe. Because i hate tripe as well, & Kare Kare at restaurants always has Tripe & I always request for No Tripe to be added to the dish. Home made Kare Kare is always the BEST, i always cook Kare Kare with Ox Tail & Chicken Thighs (dark meat), along with Okra, Bok Chuy & Chinese Green Beans! Pork Adobo; there's also Chicken Adobo or you can mix the 2 together. Again Home cooked Adobo is always the best! Sinigang; good for a cold day & if you have the sniffles Lechon Kawali; still not telling you what the sweet brown sauce was!!! But if you didn't like the brown sauce, Angel you could have asked for "Jafran" (like ketchup but its Banana Sauce!) Halo Halo; means Mix Mix. If you guys actually mixed all the ingredients together. It would've tasted a little better! UBE is pronounced like OO-BAE, its purple yam just like the Merlion Ice Cream you had in Singapore but 100 times richer in taste! Okay, the next time you attempt Filipino Food Message me or text me. Ill FB message you my cell if you want to! But YES! You can tell the server to remove the Tripe for the next time you wanna give Kare Kare a second chance. & Max's Fried Chicken is a Filipino Chain Restaurant like Marie Calender's here in the States. For dishes like you guys ordered, it would have been better at; Bario Fiesta, Tito Rey's or The Aristocrat!
I'm also a filipino but I don't like kare-kare too. The combination of the peanut sauce and the pork was bad for me. But if I combined it with rice and bagoong (shrimp paste) it tastes better than when I eat it just itself. Love you guysss!??
this is how many ppl love jollibee or filipino food itself

You should of mixed all the ingredients together in the Halo Halo. Halo in Filipino means to mix.

Watching this video before having breakfast 🤤
The round white veggie in the sinigang is actually slices of radish.

My favorite is Jolliebee and I appreciate you liked it
Try the mang inasal it's yummy and it has some good palabok and chicken
I'm also a filipino but I don't like kare-kare too. The combination of the peanut sauce and the pork was bad for me. But if I combined it with rice and bagoong (shrimp paste) it tastes better than when I eat it just itself. Love you guysss!??
