Hi Charlie. Thank you very much. I can't wait to try it outdoors. We are having a lot of rain here at the moment. I should've got a waterproof esc and radio gear : ))
Great video and build. Result looks great. Yeah, do those Grasshopper-type axle stays, instead of the Hornet-style. Less trouble. It also looks like a Grasshopper gear box. The Hornet gearbox do not have that bracket you sawed off. Great pictures by the way. So clear and crisp. Thumbs up, Derek.
Hi Mikeal. I Bought this gearbox because it was cheaper and had more parts on the tree. I didn't notice the bit I sawed off when I ordered it. But it all went well in the end and I am happy with it now. Thank you for the compliment about the photo's. I am pleased that they showed what I was trying to do. : ))
What a brilliant job mate! Those Turnigy shocks certainly add a bit of bling, and as you say, the colour enhances the look of the whole car! And it's really annoying that Hobbyking go with non standard ball joints! I have had exactly the same issues! The finished car looks awesome, Derek - give yourself a pat on the back! All I can do is to give you a well earned thumbs up! :))
Hi Mark. Thank you very much my friend. I looked but couldn't find Trackstar ball joints on Hobbykings site. But at least I will be aware of this issue if I buy some shocks again. Thank you for the thumbs up mate. Always appreciated : ))
Lol, all part of the preplanned Sound-O-Vision voiceover my friend. I want people to feel that they are in the room with me and a part of the build ha ha ha ; ))
Holly Hill RC lmao😂😂😂👍 If only the weather would behave....then we can see her run!...shes sounding smooth!....I'm beginning to feel like a caged animal with all this rain!
What a gorgeous truck - the body´s lovely and the rear axle/gearbox/motor mount assembly reminds me strongly of a Lunchbox or Pumpkin. I admired the resourceful way in which you converted the posh new shocks with Tamiya lower ends. Let´s hope you get enough good weather to allow you to make a run vid sometime soon : )
Hi Del. Thank you very much my friend. The chassis is the same as the Lunchbox - Pumpkin. This is the kit it was converted from. www.tamiya.com/english/products/58499montero_wheelie/index.htm Thank you for the compliment about the shocks. I must admit that I was stumped at first,. But i took myself away from the problem, and when I came back a few hours later the idea to use the Tamiya part came to me straight away. Thanks for watching Del. Always appreciate your comments : ))
Yes sir .. That is a great looking rig and I really like the work you've done on t ... Great job.. lol .. when doing these type of work around, you got to be creative.. lol a little dremmel here and change a shock cap, there... nice work man.. and nice presentation.. :)
@@hollyhillrc thank you Derek luckily i found it yesterday on eBay,i will make the conversion from the Mitsubishi Montero to the classic Pajero,in the Montero it come two already so i ordered two more sets it was aftermarket made in steel for the Tamiya wild Willy thanks
Hi, The old shocks I removed were Absima and not the original shocks. I'm afraid I don't know the length of the original ones. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Thank you very much Harry. Have a good weekend my friend : ))
Looks awesome Derek! Nice job.
Hi Omar Thank you very much : ))
Great stuff Derek. I hate it when companies supply shocks without all the fittings required and they are nearly always bigger holes than stock Tamiya.
Yes I agree. At least I had the bits to make it work 👍🏻
I think it looked better after your repair..hope it runs good as well..good work my friend..
