- Bill Burr on how motherhood isn’t the hardest job. I waited until the end for most of the commentary. I go on a bit of a tangent on this one.

As a single father, can confirm that child rearing is challenging, especially ages 13-17. Definitely not the hardest job ever. You love em.....so you do what you have to do. My kid is at 14, and I can’t wait until she returns to liking me again.
.........
She will be graduating and moving away sooner than you think. Cherish every moment
Teenager years are the wild years when you really don't have much control as a parent.
Teenage/early adulthood is the time when the child is actually trying to figure out what their place is in the universe, and that will have a lot of misses along some hits. Best parent can realistically really do is try to help them avoid the worst of the "misses" that could potentially ruin their lives. At that point you can't micromanage their behavior anymore.
Raising a teenager is like trying to nail jello to a tree.
She will, just rough it out a few more years. Soon as she moves out or goes to college all that nonsense goes away and you guys will be buddies again.
"Mixed with what, another Pitbull?" I don't know why I love that joke so much ...😂
Comedians are our outriders. They are the voices calling us to pause for a moment and check our trajectory. We need them. They pull back the edges and show us the gunk under the skin. We need them so much in fact that when they stop making pointed and serrated comments, when they are tamed, it is time to leave the country, because bad things are on the rise. Thanks for your reaction. Refreshing as always.
Best smile on the internet, great video!
My favorite You Tuber with my favorite comedian. Today is a great day!
Lay off the simp sauce bruv.
My family has a pit bull now, and he is one of the nicest dogs we’ve ever had, same with the Doberman that we had for a long time.
Pit Bulls have never scared me because almost all of them that I have known have been total sweethearts. But Rotties have always scared the shit out of me for some reason.
Best intro and smile in the game! Keep it up 🤙🏼
If you ever have a chance to see him live you must. One of the things I like about his comedy, it's very personal. Much of his stand-up is about his own life, and one subject he covers is his dog. While watching his act throughout the years you hear the arc of his relationship with his dog, and it it is just heart breaking how it ends. And yet he still makes it funny. He is one of the greats.
@@R1SEYY They had to give the dog away. The way Burr explains it, the dog was very volatile. It would try to attack people when he walked it and it bit a friend of his. When they were going to have their first baby they decided they were going to have to let the dog go. He talk about the process he and his wife went through emotionally dealing with giving the dog away, and it was really sad.
Carlin "A place for my stuff" "Baseball vs. Football" or "Seven Words You Can't Say On Television" are my favorites. Not in any order, all are great but "Seven Words..." is legendary. He was arrested for performing it.
Bill Burr, always one of my favorites! Thank you for your reactions.
I love your "no intro" thing. So very refreshing, thank you!
Not a parent myself, so can't comment on hardships of parenting, in general though, many people in the world having bigger problems than you wouldn't really make your problems any less meaningful to you, or make you any less likely to complain about them. Whether try to paint them as "biggest in the world" or not is a matter of personal vanity more than any objective observation, imo.
By any chance, if you look to broaden comedic horizons of your channel, try Storm by Tim Minchin. I somehow think you especially would enjoy it.
1.) Louis CK
2.) Bill Burr
3.) Dave Chappelle

Not that anyone asked! 🙋♂️
Love your take on respecting differing opinions and their importance to society
I once helped a friend walk his two dogs. He had the English mastiff. I had the gorgeous, tall wolf dog. I felt like a king.
On a similar vein I'm a full time 1-1 metal health support worker. My clients are adults with spectrum disorders and learning difficulties with behavioural challenges and very high care needs. My point being that my job is often considered by observers as a very difficult job and something many people feel is beyond their level of coping ability, however I always look at even factory workers as having a much tougher job than me. The most heavy lifting I have to do is as Bill Bur says, bending at the knee and putting DVDs into DVD players lol ... but I guess it's all relative to what you find difficult eh.
Love your reactions to Bill Burr. Sorry to hear about your dog ...
🇧🇷 Here! You're great!! And i just found out that you're learning Portuguese, that's awesome, i did learn english by myself and it was a steep learning curve. Continue assim, esse canal vai ser um sucesso ;D
You have the most wonderful smile!! Love your reactions
She has the absolute cutest smile. 🥰
Always love some Bill Burr! Maybe check out some other comedians in the future like the finnish phenomenon Ismo Leikola or my all time favourite Ricky Gervais:)
Key phrase. "When you bring them (dogs) up correctly."
👍💯
Love to see you laugh as it brings out more Beauty and your smile that's already amazing. No creepiness intended
Very good 😊 Enjoyed the Burr and your commentary. Time for more Carlin,Everyday Expressions,Flying,Driving.
I have been following his podcast for years, his fights against injustice on all fronts, trying his best keeping it real in a world that is getting more and more confused.
He taught me so much more about your magnificent country, stuff one won't find in books, but on the streets. The travels to high school cafeterias to perform at the lunch hour🤣🤣 to the sold out stadions now.
Been quite the trip, learned a lot And laughed my *ss off, where to find that?
And the blossoming of his relationship with the lovely Nia, giving him two children when he was 50, and al that comes with true Love..
He truly deserves all the good that's coming to him, works ridiculously hard, and still authentic.
Straight up good guy.
Hale the times of overload we live in, of talent and technique combined soo we can follow guys like him, and woman like Yourself, in Good Old Continental Europe.
Love Your contributions!!
🌻🙏🌻
He's my favourite living American comic
Simply GOAT.
World heritage specimen.
Kindness is the key to every good upbringing, repeat business, solid relationships and maturity of humanity. Life is challenging enough without the unpleasant individuals who just wants to cause drama.
With that being said, I am grateful that I came across your channel! You are a true example of the kindness we all should strive for!
May God bless you immensely! 😇
Hi ... If there's a blueprint for how to do a reaction channel, then this is it ! ... watched a few of your videos recently and they are excellent ... great work, from Manchester, England
I tried to comment on the excellent video, and four times the comment seems go into thin air.
Now we see how I give a recommendation without mentioning the thing by name. Watch this space.
Anyway, great video and great analysis. I wish I was that mature when I was your age.
Death of a Salesman has spades of thoughtfulness and p4thos.
I’ve found something new every time I’ve read the book! Now I’m curious what your recommendation was going to be
A non-haiku about a book one can read, as a recommendation to No Protocol. Not related to her current reading, or the video content, but it popped into my head as something intellectually nourishing.
What could the book be called?
If only you were on First Letter Terms.
Dismally, but not
Organically.
Continually, and sometimes
Tumultuously with some big
Oratory in the
Rectory. colour was
Indigo, but
Nebulous and always
Grappling.
Doofus! but,
Attaboy, though
Timid and
Anachronistic
The only animal that ever scared me was a Rottweiler. He was relatively young (although just about full grown) and hi owner really wasn't bothering to raise him well. I've been around dogs and cats, cows and horses, all sorts of domestic creatures and never had a problem with them until I told Archie to stopped whizzing inside the building and tapped him on his butt. He spun faster than I could see and was snarling at my private parts, less than two inches away. None of this is to say that Rottweilers are a bad breed. The only bad breed is one who is not given the respect it deserves to be taught to be conscientious by conscientious humans. My sister has had two Pibbles now (one died of old age) and I adore them. Thanks for your reaction to this classic bit by Bill Burr. I'm not usually at my keyboard when I see your videos so it's the first chance I've had to say how much I enjoy your work. Please, keep 'em coming.
So nice to see you laughing 😀
The best UA-cam channel hands down. Straight to the point content
Thank you for your videos. It is an absolute pleasure to watch someone subtle, who doesn’t feel the need to overpower the subject and who provides their perspective respectfully. Really enjoy your work and I will check out your recommendation.
The commercial about that mum looking for Kevin my first thought was "oh the mother from Home Alone's done it again" XD
Absolutely right about the dogs being a product of how they are raised and cared for...
I love the this. I think where you were going with the guy on skid row is more of a risk factor. Where having a job where you are either physically or mentally taxed on a regular basis and are routinely exhausted at the end of the day. For example a police officer is at high risk on a daily basis but generally speaking patrolling is not physically demanding. They are regularly more mentally taxed. I'm not a parent but I'll bet a lot of people would agree that parenting tasks on a regular basis is not even close to being the "hardest job on the planet" by anyone's definition.
just got introduced to your channel and enjoyed your reactions to a myriad of topics. I decided to subscribe.
I completely agree when it comes to big scary dog breeds. In my experience, they are the biggest babies when they are treated properly.
As for parenting being the hardest job, it's all relative. My career path has been difficult, both physically and mentally, as well as demanding and dangerous at times. But, it doesn't come close to the level of responsibility and worry that goes with raising kids. Fortunately, there are infinite rewards that make it all worth it.
As soon as the dog part came up I said you look like the type to get a Rotweiller 🤣 Sorry about your loved pet... it's heartbreaking 💔
At the pound it was the Rottweiler or a selection of small & medium sized dogs. I prefer big dogs so I chose my dog by default lol
@@NoProtocol Yep that is how I got my Fila Brasileiro. She was a sweetheart.
Yo, mad respect! I love your commentary and honesty. It is great that you do not allow yourself to guess things statistically or generally, continuing you modesty admit it and that you will look into it. Funny enough, I think we think in similar ways so I like that too, uncanny. Anyway, I have been enjoying your content, please bring us some more. And I like book reviews, I suggest you do some more.
Sup! Love your channel and your reactions. I have to agree with you on pit bulls I have two dogs that are not full pit bulls but they definitely are a big part pit bull point is they are the sweetest (and dumbest) dogs I have ever had. I think it is the same with most animals if you treat them properly and raise them right then they won’t be this scary thing everyone is convinced they are. And to wrap this up I sent you some video recommendations on instagram some a few good videos I have seen I actually just sent one lol. But anyhoo I hope you are enjoying UA-cam and have a lovely day
Treating & training them properly makes all the difference. I know some pretty adorable pit bulls. You’ve just reminded me to check my IG! It has been a while, thank you Angelina (:
@@NoProtocol yep! Another problem for really anything is people just don’t open their minds to other options that their opinions are not always right and that their are two sides to the story
"If you treat them properly and raise them right then they won’t be this scary thing everyone is convinced they are. "
The reason they're feared is because you can't trust people to raise them correctly, and blindly assuming everyone has will get you into trouble
It's like someone carrying a gun, of course they're allowed to by law and a responsible gun owner isn't scary, but you can't know what people are thinking or their level of care and training so you would be foolish to not at least be mindful - and can't really fault those who are uncomfortable with it, the same applies to pitbulls because many owners of all dog breeds have no idea what they're doing
Sometimes Nia accompanies him in the podcast, she's even more hilarious. The two of them, with those wonderful kids growin up now, just golden..
Why this man isn't in the conversation of who the top all time comedians are, I'll never know.
He is imo
ive never heard of him not mentioned as great. he is still relevant. all time great great will come later.
Because I don’t think he’s reached the level of greats yet long way to go very funny though
That Duracell commercial is real, btw, and all of the comments mention Bill Burr: ua-cam.com/video/hGCv7RzEwR8/v-deo.html
soft white underbelly is amazing! he brings such beauty to such a forgotten group of people...
Going down the rabbit hole of things you are watching... and enjoying it! As for Death of a Salesman, it was required reading material in English classes in highscool, along with, Flowers for Algernon, To Kill a Mocking Bird, random Shakespeare ( and I believe the Shakespeare stuff was, just because. To get minds flowing on trying to translate, and hearing interpretations of thoughts from other students).
Bill has a very distinct laugh when he says something that's way out of left field or a complete exaggeration. If you can pick up on that, you can tell that he's being hyperbolic for effect at times. Makes his timing even better.
Love that. No long intro well just start the video . My kinda person
Thanks for opening your mind to other mindsets and life experiences.
In regards of George Carlin, you should check out his skit on flying. It's a personal favorite of mine.
I am an animal portrait artist and i can concur with the opinion that rotweillers are lovely gentle kind hearted softies when brought up correctly.
Since you mentioned Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conon Doyle, may I suggest another "genre" writer, John le Carré, a brilliant espionage writer. actually his first few books are actually mysteries, but when he gets into espionage, a subject he knows extremely well, considering that he was once a spy, he was able to write some of the all time classic books of the genre, and unlike Ian Fleming, his plotlines are completely authentic, while being just as entertaining.
Former Staffordshire/Labrador MKix Owner here...haha..walked her down the Street and went by a lil "Farmhouse" with a Dog running without leash and or Fences...i then yelled to the Owner if she could please get her Dog back so he wont mess with mine...she declined...i than said to her that she better have a second look what kind of Dog i have on my Leash before i release her.....she then took her Dog in rather quickly....cause it was unfair that a free running Dog attacked mine who was on a Leash...
I've had a couple Bull Terriers , beautiful dogs , loyal , loving , peaceful (usually) very protective . I did notice however, their propensity for aggression given the right stimulus. For example , with one of them , whenever I'd put on my leather motorcycle gloves , he'd take that to mean we're having combat training because ONE TIME when he was a pup I let him bite my hands with them on. He never forgot that one time and then forever after I'd have to wait until I was outside to put my gloves on , or else I'd be battling to get out the door with a massive dog hanging off my gloves.
Iv got a Pitbull and hes a big softie, often people are so terrified of a dog just cause its big so they act all paranoid and flinch around it, and then the dog gets domineering cause the person is acting afraid and thats how they get bitten, if you just act calmly the dog is fine, you Just cant let a dog like that dominate you especially if you are the owner, you need to be firm and show it love, and that dog will be your best friend and protect you.
Wonderful... blame the person for getting bitten
@@scmay29 if that person either messes with my dog or starts doing anything to excite the dog I'm getting them away from it before they get hurt you don't play with guns you dont fool around inside a vehicle and you dont excite animals especially big ones you wouldn't walk up to a big muscle dude and start messing with him for no reason nor would you see him and immediately freak out Cause he's big and can fold you like a newspaper even though he has no reason to so show some common sense and youl be fine
Certain dog breeds get a bad wrap and these are two of them but I have had both in my house as pets and they have been amazing animals. The one in the house now is a pit - Rottweiler mix and a amazing dog love him deeply. Sorry for your loss. Darren
Nice job on the vids ... Keep up the good work
Bill Burr made me realize that as a child my father my sisters and I turned our terrier into the cutest, most pleasant murdering psychopath my small town ha ever seen. I remember people saying things like " have you noticed that there aren't too many squirrels or groundhogs around". LMAO 🤣🤣🤣 god i loved that dog. Can't think of a book besides cujo unfortunately.
He’s probably my favorite comedian at the moment
Like you said, being a parent is more of a lifestyle. That's pretty insightful for someone who's not a parent. It doesn't necessarily feel like a job. You just have a lot more responsibility. The rewards are many, and it is totally worth it though.
"Something you can take your day out on.” Got you laughing up a storm
Rottweilers used to terrify me. My neighbor had the friendliest one ever. So it would charge towards you when you visited. Just being playful but as a kid I'd just tense up in fear.
Concise video as usual. The Soft White Underbelly link appears to be broken FYI.
It's a cliche but it's generally NOT the dog that is at fault, but the owner/trainer.
I am sufficiently old that when I was growing up my mother was mainly at home as a motherhousewife, with sole income from my father. She did go to some part-time work a bit later to earn some 'pin money' as it was callled (extra money for her to spend beyond the housekeeping money my father gave her).
Random data: Soft White Underbelly was the original name of the band Blue Oyster Cult (of Don't Fear the Reaper and Godzilla fame)
My book recommendations from this would be Rudyard Kipling "the jungle book". The theme behind parenting and child abuse is very proactive. Funny how adult reading changes what you take away from childhood stories.
I would recommend you take a look at George Carlin's interview with Jon Stewart. It's from a tribute put on for him celebrating 40 years of comedy. It give a lot of insight on George's life/comedy philosophy.
A book recommendation I'll offer is Different Seasons by Steven King which has four novellas. It has "The Body" which became the movie Stand By Me as well as the another one which became The Shawshank Redemption.
S.W.U. - made me really appreciate the hard work my parents put in raising us.
As a small child I had a Rottweiler and remember him being very lazy but very loving and even though I was small and weird pulling his ears and poke him and give him hugs he would never bite would never get mad he would just sit there and be the best dog ever, his name was Zooma ( only dog I've had that walked without a leash in public )
Rotties are wonderful dogs, My uncle had one when I was little. He was an old fighting dog that he rescued, had scars all over him and he looked very scary, but he was a big softy, just wanted to be loved
Oh I'm sorry about your dog. I just came across another comment. This is the first video I've watched in awhile and you may have mentioned it in earlier ones but I missed that if you did. 🙏🙏
i think people confuse most important with most difficult. its extremely important how kids are raised. but not difficult to do it.
Having taken care of both for extended periods of time, I can confirm that dogs behave largely how they are raised.
Love this bit
Henry Miller...quite different from Arthur Miller! Lol Both are great!! Great reaction!!
My ex wife (bless her heart) would occasionally stun with her accuracy. She said that there was nothing like parenthood for showing you yourself.
I couldn’t see if you reacted to Bill Burrs “no reason to hit a women” bit. I’d love for you to react to that. Also surprised people haven’t requested ant of bo burnhams inside songs. I fell you’d have some strong options to them. One of my favourites being “how the world works”.
It's not just being a precent parent it's having both parents. The stats on fatherless children speak for themselves. Being a good parent is easy if you are capable of love.
I loved my rott she died of old age also when i was in college she was great all the neighborhood kids loved her also.
If you like Miller you should read the biography he did on D.H Lawrence, one of the most profound things I've ever read, also you might the movie from 1990 about his life in Paris with French diarist Anaïs Nin.
My literary recommendation would be My Lobotomy by Howard Dully. It is a cautionary tale of family dynamics and their consequences. It's a great and inspiring read.
The Call of the Wild by Jack London comes to mind. Survival in the wilderness from a dog's perspective is compelling and interesting.
The Mark Laita interview on JRE was pretty good
Hey you could react to George Carlin "A On Homelessness" that would be cool
Having a household where one parent works and the other raises the children comes down to sacrifices. Is it true that you won't be able to buy the kind of things that you may desire if you don't have two parents working? Yes. As for my wife and I, we decided that I would work and that she would raise the children, even though it means financial sacrifice. There are plenty of things that we cannot afford, but we are the ones fully raising our children. As for us, especially in today's society, it's absolutely worth the sacrifice.
Well said!
Had a pit bull for 17 years and the only incident I had was when he was attacked by a jack russell, lovely dog i'lll never be the same without him.
Please react to Shane Gillis "special Olympics" or "live in Austin" the second one is kinda long but it's really good (maybe you can do it in parts or something)
Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle are not telling jokes that are hard for society to accept, imo. It seems that most people agree with these jokes. If you do not get them, say like, "the dog that is like a gun that you can pet," that is the problem for the one that is still caught up in the past. Life and humor keep moving along. Love your channel.
The Duracell battery commercial is on UA-cam if you want to search for it and see what he's talking about.
A little over a year ago I adopted a pittie mix from the SPCA near me. He was just about 10 years old and he’s the most sweet natured, affectionate dog you could want. I think that some people might make the assumption of viscousness but he’s just not that way.
They're lethal killing machines, i had to take one out when it attacked my wife and my little dogs, nasty bastards.
the creator for soft white underbelly was recently a guest on joe rogan's podcast. i recommend that episode
I would say generally in life nothing is difficult. You can do it or not. Saying it's difficult is saying you don't want to put in the work to learn it. Nothing wrong with being talented in one field and sticking with that. If something comes to you naturally you can go farther in that field.
Also I'm very sorry for your loss.
Omg you had a Rottie? That's my fav dog! You are so great. The more I learn about you, the more I like you. And I love your face and expressions. K bye =)
How many times have people commented on that absolutely LEGENDARY picture on the wall behind you?
Asking for a friend.
please do eddie griffin- what happened after 9/11, he’s a brilliant comic who plays in to stereotypes in a intelligent and mind-opening way. he has a lot more knowledge of the world then he’s given credit for. he enjoys comics like richard pryor and george carlin.
Pitties are one of my favorite dogs. They're big, dopey, and look like they're constantly smiling. I also like that they're hyper, so they play a lot... but they're strong. Damn strong. If you're not, I suggest you avoid the breed. A nice pleasant walk where the dog sees a single squirrel could make you a human kite.
As for parenthood... *Normally* it's not exactly Navy Seal territory. However, some kids are very different from others, and yes, some parents work as well. Imagine coming home from work to a kid intentionally pushing your buttons, then having to sleep light because someone wets the bed... It might not be physically stressful, but it could be mental torture right up there with brainwashing. The sleep depravation alone can do a number on someone.
being a mom may not be so tough, but childbirth; becoming a mom makes you a real man...the fear and pain; i can only imagine
I love his real take on life
I have two recommendations by George Carlin, for a serious one is "The American Dream" i know you will have some interesting things to say, and for a more silly one try "The Trillion Daves"
Bill is hilarious. I can look at her all day long though :D
Bad dog are only bad because people don’t train them. They leave them outside and alone and they bark all the time. I have had a pitbull before and he was the best dog. Well trained and loved people.
You're right, "dangerous dogs" are made dangerous by the way they are brought up, if they have good owners they are good breeds of dogs; which is why I wouldn't have such a breed as a rescue dog, unfortunately.
George Carlin's bit called 'The Ten Commandments' is great.
