Lauren, you are an amazing person. Fantastic teacher as you just have a way of explaining things that bottom line....make sense.
Oh and you have a great sense of humor.
I want to thank you so much for what you do.
I am 64 yrs old and picked a guitar last January and once I found your UA-cam channel I knew I was going to learn how to play my guitar.
Again thank you for teaching me.
Aww Ric, you are so welcome. Appreciate your kind words and so happy to help in any way I can. :)

You’re welcome!
Very nice * in detail Lauren
Thank you!
Thank you Lauren - I love how you teach! You break things down so beginners can understand. They camera work and communication is excellent. Please keep posting.
Jay, glad you are enjoying the second camera.
Oh Lauren - I hear you play and automatically start singing: WELL I'VE SEEN YOU BEFORE ON THAT DISCOTHEQUE FLOOR,
YOU WERE DRIVIN' ME OUT OF MY MIND
OH, BUT I COULD - A SWORN THAT I SAW SOMETHIN' MORE IN YOUR EYES... A song by the dream woman of my youth - Suzi Quatro. Greetings Rudi :)
Not sure I know the song. 🤔
Thank you very very much 🙏🏽🙏🏻🙏🙏🏽🙏🏻

You are welcome!
Thank you so very much
You are welcome!
Yet another brilliant video. Thank you, Lauren!
You are welcome!
You're teaching very good, thankyou, love you so much
You're very welcome!
Thank you Lauren. I’ve been trying to get this for a while because like you said it sounds awesome when you play Proud Mary. The tip about doing it over the sound hole nailed it for me. I normally strum near the bridge because I like the twang so as soon as I moved up there it was. Thanks again
You got this!
Good morning Lauren somehow when you started playing CCR just came to my mind really sounded good thank you for making my morning
John, happy to make your morning. Yeah this a great strumming pattern used on lots of songs.
This is so cool! To use the guitar to double as a drum is really creative. I was able to do the subtle version, but I have to work some more to be able to do the aggressive beat. Thank you Lauren for opening up the world of guitar especially to us newbies!
You are welcome!
Lauren this was a good idea for a lesson. I've never been good at this technique and your tuition really improved my sound.
Glad to help Sean.
Great lesson as usual
You're welcome!
Nice lesson!
Thank you!
It is a wow🙌🔥
Thank you!

Ready to rock & roll this is a little challenge but I always like the challenge thanks for sharing have a great day and God bless 🙏🏽
Harold, you can do it! Rock and roll my friend!
Karate Chop just fits to me!! The upstroke is so important to keep the rhythm! Great lesson. Have a nice day!
Dean 100%. You have a great day too!
@@LaurenBateman Thank you! 😀🎸🥋
Thank you lauren.... from philippines....
Jo Jo, you're welcome!
Hi Lauren, always good to learn from you.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so very much Lauren! This is a technique I have struggled to learn in the past 30 months that i have been playing, and enjoyed the sound. You identified exactly why i was having difficultly was because I did not notice until this video I was doing the same as Richard, the pick was up instead of at the bottom. You are awesome!!
Dennis, well I'm glad Richard was able to help me make this lesson so that you could learn too! I never thought about the pick honestly until I saw him in person!
Me too! Is it a little painful? Is that ok at the start or a mistake in the technique?
I’m a novice and have been trying to figure out what a pentatonic scale even was and always got so discussed because I couldn’t keep up. You have me excited and it makes some sense. I’m thinking you might be the answer. Thank You 🙏🏻
Great to hear! You can do it!
You'r The Best Lauren! 😉
Thank you!!!
Drumming and Strumming. Good times on the beach.
Always a fun time. Just like a snare drum.
I AM GOING TO LEARN THIS I AM KNOW I CAN DO THIS I LOVE THE SUBTLE ONE BEST AWESOME LESSON
The subtle one has a nice effect. Works well with lots of songs you want to sing over
You are my ambassador of Quan man.
Ha ha. Thanks.
This is my weak point!🤥
You are perfect with a pick.
I liked this beat...thanks
You're so welcome!
Great lesson Lauren! Besides Proud Mary, what other song would you recommend for this type of strumming? Also, I see the red Camaro model in your video. I have a 1968 red Camaro convertible!
Hi David, I have a red 68 coupe. 230 straight six with power glide transmission. 😎
Steelers Wheel is another good one. Maggie May. You could use it for a lot of songs as a solo guitarist.
Hi Lauren. Love your vid’s.
A couple of questions about your expressive rhythm course. I own several lap style guitars. One is a Beard dobro with a tri-cone resonator and the second is an electric Recording king with a Humbucker pickup. Neither guitar has a sound hole. Can a person use your percussive strumming techniques in your course using these two square neck solid body lap steel-style guitars?
Cheers, 🍷 Ray
Hi Ray, I don't play lap steel myself, so I don't know if it would apply honestly.
Good lesson, I have such trouble with this. You should of worn your Mutant Ninja Turtle TeeShirt for the Karate Chop lesson! You have a neat collection of tees.
Thank you so much!
Super
Thanks!
I am from India. Basic Guitarist. Need your support Lauren.
Hello!!!
Hi from the UK. I’m subscribed with notifications on but never get your live events ones. Do you do them on a regular day/ time? Hope you’re well and thanks for your time.
Hi Alix, for my Fellowship Members, yes I have a live call schedule. On UA-cam it's when I have time to pop on. I try to post 2-3 days in advance.
@@LaurenBateman Hiya. Thanks for getting back to me. I will check it all out!
Keep smiling, keep playing and keep well.
Hi Lauren I'm checking out the chop lol it's been 4 months playing my
🎸🎶Still no rhyth....hmmmm
🤔
Keep it simple first. Whole note strumming and quarter note strumming. Get timing first
Do the strings touch the upper deck during the percussion? There is quite a big space between
Not sure what you mean by upper deck. Do the strings touch the wood of the guitar itself? No they do not.
@@LaurenBateman Thank you. Yes, I meant the top of the guitar where the sound hole is placed
Can you teach me how to play Johnny Cash I Walk the Line
