We lose ourselves amidst the chaos that is life. It is overwhelming more than once in a while. Worn and tired we are in need of a respite. Safe Haven is a welcome place. Calming and centering. Sometimes appearing in an unexpected form at an unexpected time. It is a refuge where we can stay for a moment to rebuild strength. A place of recovery and reflection. It is a temporary home, a shelter - if only for a short while. It can be a liminal space inspiring a transition within us. We cannot stay here forever, though. It is not supposed to be this way. We know that intrinsically and we prepare. Prepare to go out again into the chaos. But not quite yet...”
With the transcience of things and status in mind Safe Haven can never be a final place. As human beings we are ourselves trapped somwhere between emotion and rationality. And we traverse through this experience of life bouncing back and forth between forces we cannot fully comprehend or predict. They say the only constant is change and so sometimes life hits us and sometimes we are offered a moment of peace. I want to invite you to enjoy that peaceful moment with me in this beautiful forest.
With the arrival of my new Lowden O25c I was already preparing to record Safe Haven. It certainly was no coincidence, as I feel this is a song that fits so well to the tone of the guitar. I think they form a symbiosis coming together in this song, what do you think? This guitar certainly feels like a musical safe haven, as it is a most joyful experience to play it.
Originally written in November 2021 at a faster pace I decided to slow it down a notch as it coincides with the feeling of comfort I wanted to convey with this piece. However, I plan on recording the "original" version on a later date. This should be interesting as tempo is crucial to the - for a lack of a better word - vibes of a musical piece.

Why isn’t this guy on candy rat and receiving a much deserved larger audience ? I’ve noticed that Candy Rat has lowered thier standards over the last couple years, picking up artist that they never would have 5 or 10 years ago.. this guy is definitely old school quality candy rat material.
