- A cover attempt of another one of my favorite guitar compositions by probably my biggest fingerstyle guitar inspiration and hero Calum Graham. His songs form the bedrock of my skills on the acoustic guitar. I first learned "Farewell" about two years ago. Even though it is called "Farewell" I personally feel that all of Calum's songs are breathing life and call us out to live to the fullest. I can hear this quality cemented into each of his compositions and it was probably what drew me to his music back in 2013.
A farewell gives us the opportunity to embrace something new. So, let us say farewell to the summer of 2022 and embrace autumn with a warm welcome.

@@nickt1275 No, you’re right it isn’t. The more I learn on the guitar the less I feel like saying something is / looks easy to play. It’s a curious thing, diving deeper into a topic / instrument.
I've been a huge fan of Calum Graham for many years now, and that is probably the very best cover of Farewell I've ever heard! I would love to see what you would do with 12:34 or Waiting! Keep it up, you're amazing!

Yes!! Covers of those will definitely come, as well as many more of Calum’s songs. If I was forced to name one favorite song and one favorite fingerstyle guitarist it would be Waiting and Calum Graham.

Generally speaking, I suppose I’m more the ballad-type but I also love when it goes wild like in The Nomad or Phoenix Rising.
So, you’re basically „neighbours“ with Calum. Haha, nice. But, having the distances of Canada in mind it probably still takes an eternity from Quebec to BC, right? (Without having looked it up I honestly have no idea)
I live in Aachen, Germany which is close to the border of Belgium and the Netherlands.
@@marceldominic lol Yes Canada IS immensely vast! From Quebec to British Columbia, it takes about 4 to 6 hours by plane (mainly because of the transfers) but if you want to do it by car, it would take roughly 2 weeks (if not more)!

But that would make for an awesome road trip while enjoying Canada’s nature 🙂
Dear Dom, start making your own music coz you're good. You don't have to cover anybody's songs. I'm a Calum Graham admirer, even he'd say the same thing. Make your own music and rendition.
Hey Emmanuel, thanks for your words. Actually I am making original music already as well 🙂 the thing is though, that every song I covered and will cover on this channel has a special place in my heart. These guitarists inspire me and I learned playing through their music. So, I know I don’t have to cover any song, sure, but I love doing it. It is part of my learning to sit in front of the camera and the microphones, mixing, mastering…etc. Each time getting a tiny bit better (hopefully)
