Deception had a lot of great costumes.
The shredder subzero has to be a customizable skin in mk11.
There is some thing akin to it, but so far mk11 is failing Subzero

I mean the costumes amazing but hes right about the shoulder pads but now everything else. If they were to add it in mk11 i believe that they should find a way change a little but with how people see shred-zero i think people would want the costume as is because they have fond memories of the time.
Fun fact: Sub-Zero looks more older here and in Deadly Alliance because of the Dragon Medallion. The medallion gives him amazing powers but in counterpart it ages him very fast

Deadly Alliance's Raiden was probably the most badass of the Raiden appearances and visual.

Nothing is really wrong with Kobra that isnt also what's wrong with most 3d era characters. He couldve been more fleshed out story and gameplay wise and he'd be a decent character, but its tradition to just kill off crappy ps2 characters in later games. Or pretend they dont exist

Havik definitely has one of the cooler designs. For sure one of the better new characters.

To me I feel chaos realm and order realm should play some relevance in future mk games as either allies and enemies to the other realms and to me havik and hotaru should be added to the roster

They were introduced as ninjas because it was easier to pump out more characters as palette swaps. They were never meant to stay as ninjas. Once they stopped being ninjas they actually became way more unique as characters.
Don't worry, if she's a MK1-4 girl and scantily clad; Simmons will give them an instant high rating.
Oh and ninjas/assassins cannot wear armor. It is forbidden, apparently.
Mileena, Ermac, Jade, Tanya, Sub-Zero, Havik, Kenshi, Kabal, Ashrah look amazing in this game. I'd love to see their Deception costumes again

One thing I think gets lost when rating costumes is ironically how they fit the character. Barakas default does seem plain, but the dude has spines as shoulder straps. It's simple, but Baraka is a simple warrior. Mileena's costumes are overly sexy, because that's at the base of her character. Her face is ugly, so she flaunts her body to attract people. Just 2 examples, but I could go more in depth with many others. Sometimes it's the little things, that make costumes better, other times they make them worse.
I also don't really like the general biases.
Bo Rai Cho, Zombie Liu Kang, and Deadly Alliance Reptile all getting flat 1's across the board just to name a few key examples.

@@TheDistorted it's not a theory, they say in game that scorpion is the true champion of the elder Gods, and that onaga tricked shujinko into believing the elder Gods chose him. Shujinko says in scorpions ending that he was the true champion, and in Armageddon scorpion references being the champion of the elder Gods.

He was right though. Scorpion is one of the most boring and stupid characters in MK. And that says a lot. Anyone who has tried to read the story in MK knows that Scorpion is a one-dimensional character who has no plot role, and his whole drama was solved back in the 90s, but they continue to bring this topic up because they don’t know what to do with him. Worse than a scorpion is only Johnny Cage, the worst character.

Ashrah is so underrated. I loved her and Nitara's more neutral morals and less direct impact on the main story. The current story mode is great but I feel like it limits character inclusion and side-story potential

Ashrah would have been terrific in MK11. She could start out as an evil ally of Noob Saibot who has a change of heart after acquiring the Kriss and after meeting Sub-Zero, she could then turn against Noob and begin a rivalry with him.

Kobra is a 1. His alternate is probably a 3. Johnny Lawrence mixed with Ken (alternate is in the style of Jin Kazama from Tekken 4). You guys seemed very generous just because he's a reference to other characters.
Mileena's costume are an 8 at least. She's supposed to look provocative to draw attention away from her fangs.
Tanya's costumes are at least a 7. It was a good return that made her more intimidating with than her MK4 appearance.

He's wrong in a lot of things, "Darrius has no story" "Blaze has no backstory" they are really ignorant when it comes to 3D games and the lore. Kenny is the only one who knows something about the lore.

When it comes to designs, you need to find the right balance. Less is more so one shouldn't overdesign a character but you can't make it too basic otherwise, it won't stick for a lot of folks. I've seen some cool yet overdesigned characters (and Mega Evolved Pokemon) so I can get Max's "Simple" logic. LOL

@@Rtr-oh1mz Well IMO I guess it's depends on one's preference. Me personally, a lot of the costumes are appealing and even have the balance of having enough clothing parts as well as color without them being too over design.
But I'm the kind of guy who thinks Shang Tsung's 3D era look is a lot better than his preferred MK 2 and 3 appearances among other unpopular MK opinions so what do I know.
I want Shujinko to come back. Man deserves a second chance to have his character done right.

The chaos realm didnt get any development within that game other than being able to see what it looks like, which doesnt matter because we see that the netherrealm looks way different than it did in that game

Li Mei was always my favorite new character from the 3d era, alongside Kenshi. She'd fit pretty well in newer installments if they use skins like her alternate in this, her sleeveless kimono from Deadly Alliance and her appearance in MKX. Her default skin in this and her alternate in Deadly Alliance wouldn't fit with the visual aesthetic they are going for though, even though I do like her default costume in Deception.

You can actually hack/mod in Shujinko's younger self as a playable character and he has 'pain'/fatality audio like going 'no no NO!!!' for Scorpion/Kira/Sub-Zero's fatalities. I think they reason they didn't add him in is because they didn't want Scorpion ripping the spine of what is essentially a teenage boy out.
Same reasoning as to why you perform the fatalities on Torr and not Ferra.
Quite a few drinks there it seems. And yes, Havik should 100% come back. He was kind of a huge deal in the comic and Kenny is right on the money with him just fucking absolutely everyone over.

@@parappathegamer2118 Not exactly. The only true good 3D era character is just Kenshi. Tanya is not a good 3D era character nor a fan favourite. She return to MKX back is because Ed Boon love Tanya. Tanya is actually Ed Boon's 3D era favourite character. Tanya wasn't really a fan favourite. The real fan favourite 3D era characters is (not include Kenshi because he has his chance already) actually Fujin, Reiko, Ashrah and Havik. This are 3D era characters that always got up everytime fans want to see 3D era characters return back.

To be fair, Havik has made and appearance in the MK comics, as well as Shujinko, so I do have some small hopes that they'll be brought into the story somehow in the future.
To this day, Mileena's alt costume was one of my faves, only taken over by her default in 9 simply because it's great and for some reason I thought they were both the same until I came back to Deception recently; it was honestly one of my fave Krypt unlockable back in the day. As for Sub-Zero, makes sense that the best Sub-Zero design (Sub-Shredder) gets mixed with the worst one, being the whole Genie Ninja, which it may make sense, but I thought it was too weird, especially when his ending doesn't have him shed his armor but rather embrace it.

Havik has my favorite character design of all time. Shred-zero is badass as hell, and scorpions outfit is dope. This game has my favorite baraka outfit as well. Ermac has an amazing design in this as well. I'd say this game has super solid outfits

Max I know you mentioned you’re worried about uploading too much content but we are loving all the MK content especially now at homestretch to get us to Monday for the release of MK11 and you never ever force content so everything is always genuine. Yeah I completely agree, I can’t get enough of these and they’re great ways to pass the time for those of us that don’t own any of the older consoles or games anymore, it’s a nice refresher...especially love it when you finish one of these and the next one is up, it’s a super bingable UA-cam series for sure, don’t worry about over-uploading or anything like that, we don’t feel that way at all 🙂

So you guys love Mortal Kombat but don't like almost everything about it?
heres the thing about mortal kombat, number 1 sucked but it was a revolution in gaming. 2 & 3 were good. 4-8 were all terrible, 9 was fantastic, 10 was okay. Mortal kombat is mostly held so highly because of that revolution it caused, if it were judged purely off the quality of the games it would not have made it to 11
The Macca I think 10 is legitimately great. Probably not as good as 9, but i wouldn’t consider it “average”
i dono about that, the 3d MKs are the best ones, in fact they are the reason that MKX has the best combo paths... and yea Max only likes MK2, 3, 9, & 10 which is *SUPER* weird

@@themacca277 I think 5-8 were all pretty good. Shaolin Monks was alright but Deadly Alliance and Deception were both really good games before 9 came out. If you were to play them now though it'd probably be terrible knowing how great it became

So basically, a character wears any sort of armor and the design "has too much going on"...sure, ok. You guys aren't bad people, but I'm seriously glad you guys don't have any say in how the characters of MK look, everyone's designs would be so boring since apparently anything above a classic ninja design "has too much going on"
Going back and watching these has been painful lmao. I could not agree less with the vast majority of these ratings.
I like Li Mei and think she should come back. I love her design, and more importantly she has the one Fatality where she performs a Fist of the North Star move and explodes her opponent by striking their pressure points, and I think that they could extrapolate a moveset and playstyle from that.
Had to hit them with that dislike when he said “Scorpion is an 8/10 character” like get tf out of here 😂
