Bro that Desolation of godo playmat! i want that so badly XD looks so fun to keep track of! and just looks metal as all hell, just the amount of decks it's demolished... that idea of a mat seems so bad ass....
I feel like both wins could have been prevented if AJ wasn't so counter happy. like countering that mana vault turn 1 didn't really make sense cause sure it ramps him but considering there's a godo player also in the pod who basically has an I win in the command zone so will constantly present a way to reach said I win at any opportune moment meaning its better to hold up any premium counter spells for his attempts than to burn it on a rock.
Again with the ryhstic correct me if I'm wrong but the thrasios rogakh player was tapped out from playing study meaning he could have peirced the study and saved the fierce for a more solid win attempt I.e Polymorph
@@tfuji0012 also curious about the main phase growth spiral (letting the fish trigger) then deciding to stop the card flow by countering the rhystic study
I don’t claim to be a high level magic player, but wow the counters on the t1 vault and then the rhystic study. Man. That was pretty rough. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a study countered in a cEDH game after turn 1. the mana vault counter was slightly more defensible, but with a godo player at the table countering a mana rock from the polymorph control deck with force just seems wrong.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can ricochet trap an opponent's cyc rift to their own permanent, since it has to target an opponent's nonland permanent.
@Jamie Lin The force and pact were definitely bad calls, but I think not playing Kinnan there was fine. Kinnan was only mana neutral on that board, and would have been exposed to removal. The play I personally think is weird is not casting the Ilysian Caryatid off Fyndhorn Elves in game 2. I can't see holding up GG being worth more than another ramp piece on board. That said, we're humans, not robots. We're not always going to take the best line, and it's much easier to comment on good or bad plays as a third party with better information.
Why no game stats as of late? I feel like they haven't been shown the last few episodes. I always like seeing what the bonus stat is that you show at the end of the list.
That 2nd game I was a little concerned with AJ's starting hand. With all of the wheel effects (affects?) In cEDH, I don't think I'd like to have my Thoracle in my opener... However, the rest of his hand was gas
Yeah, I heard infinite mana and Thrasios and knew it was over, then was slightly confused and surprised. Not actually sure this was any better than thoracle though, same outcome, same win state, but you have to watch him play solitaire for probably about 50x longer than any of the empty library win cons...
U don’t need Oracle in that deck when you can with without it,oracle is a useless creature with San black deck, even with black it is still useless, usually a zero value card hard stuck in hand
Lmao at AJ forcing a mana vault and using a pact on a Magus that barely affected him with a godo player at the table. And then complaining about 1 dmg, come on now 😂
is that Desolation of Godo playmat custom-made? I think it's really cool that it has the names of commanders it has beaten on there and how often too. It may or may not be only for fun, but still cool.
Maybe I missed something but how is the barbarian arena being able to be untapped? Thrasios puts it in play tapped so how is it being used to ping the table?
He sacs to crop rotation and then helding priority he puts it back into his library with turn the Earth, fetching it with crop rotation and putting it untapped onto the battlefield ;) using turn the Earth, noxious revival and infinite mana on thrasios he is able to loop this
Could silence have been cast after life was spent to fill his mana pool? Or is it, 1. Put Godo on stack 2. Pay sufficient life to generate mana 3. Silence comes in too late?
I've got a request can you do a kelsien, the plague cedh deck no cap on money just build it as OP as possible, use the other things that help with experience counters if possible
Snarky mtg player moment: you can't redirect cyclonic rift to a target you control;it is invalid. Prob wouldn't have made a difference, but i wanted to point it out :p
do you have to be an avid godo player to know that treasonous ogre wins the game? I feel like that's almost as obvious as the fact that AJ should not be a blue player.

That first game was something else to say the least. When AJ countered that t1 Mana Vault, I saw the writing on the wall.
That wining loop in game two was wild lol love to see it
It seemed really cool to me too. I like how it seemed to have a low opportunity cost

In summary Premium counters are not to be burnt. Patience is key
@@tfuji0012 also curious about the main phase growth spiral (letting the fish trigger) then deciding to stop the card flow by countering the rhystic study
Also he countered the Magus of the Moon when he was best situated to play through it anyway.
Yeah, the Force and Pact counters were rather poor plays.
NEVER READ COMMENTS BEFORE THE VIDEO. It ruins everything

Too late...
Oh fuck...I can't believe you've done this 😮💨
Thank you for your sacrifice. 👏
But reading this comment warns me to not. We are in a loop.

Turn the Earth is a card I haven't seen before. Pretty cheeky Shenanigans Eric was doing with it.
lmao countering the t1 vault ultimately cost AJ the game. godo ftw
great to see thras/rog get a win as well, wtf was that line lmao
That Thrasios Win was so fun to see. I love these weird lines since I saw a Gitrog List win on an earlier episode
Ryan that is a sick playmat

video shows him trying to target thrasios but tymna was bounced in the end so they caught it.
Spoilers:
I'm really curious as to why AJ Force of Willed the Mana Vault turn 1. That seems like such an odd line.
Also why did he pact the magus?? He has 2 islands and an arcane signet?
If he didn’t go for the pact, he could have gone for the win his next turn…With pact backup
I think it was kind of a power move
AJ made so many bad plays those games
@Jamie Lin The force and pact were definitely bad calls, but I think not playing Kinnan there was fine. Kinnan was only mana neutral on that board, and would have been exposed to removal. That FoW in a Mana Vault still hurts my brain. 0 sense at all.
I like the win condition in the last game. Super compact and no dead cards because each card in the loop has additional utility.
Such a fun game! Ryan's play mat is super cool
Is there a blood fued between AJ and Eric? Would make more sense if the Godo player was playing out a Vault
Why no game stats as of late? I feel like they haven't been shown the last few episodes. I always like seeing what the bonus stat is that you show at the end of the list.
Joining the pack questioning how long AJ’a been playing cEDH lol
At that point two days
I love how magic has become “You activated my trap card!”

This was a very cool win from the Thrasios, finally something that isn't Thoracle

fun games and spicy decks! love it. ggs 🤘
Those games were mad, that was great
enough ganja was smoked to have barbarian ring become the win condition

Ngl, them r the people that complain about the 1 dmg. It is a common trend
Couldnt aj on t2 play kinnen first then arcane signet and then play sylvan library to also have his commander out?
Short answer is; yes.
Great to see some Godo
That Thrasios combo was jank as hell lol. Fantastic.
I dig your desolation of godo playmat Ryan!
Thanks!
Pre game shout out: Go Kinnan!
Love to see it!
That Thrasios combo was amazing! I wanna build a tuned down version of that

Yes, it is custom made. Ryan updates it whenever Godo beats an opponent.
Where’s does one get that godo playmat? Best I’ve ever seen
I made it custom

ryan having a godo playmat while another player is playing godo is funny
Godo still doing the Godo

Awesome games!

You can't respond to mana abilities like treasonous ogre so he had to cast silence when he did
@@RickHardpack thank you! I should have known that..
For me I would love to see ardenn and rograck in cedh?
The Godo list in the description is not accurate :(
Couldn't AJ just tap and untap Basalt Monolith in response to Cyclonic Rift, to make infinite colorless mana anyway?
The untap is a triggered ability. It hadn’t untapped yet. He didn’t have mana to untap it again.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG I see, thank you.
Was AJ purposely trolling or what?
i might be wrong but dont think he could respond to the tapping of basalt monolith
