    I used Pyle Sonos Speaker Stand for my rear Fives (PSTNDSON17, only can mount horizontal, black, $51 USD each). I have the Arc on top of an entertainment center below a wall mounted LG OLED 77C1. I placed the Arc on a Clutch CL-DMS250 Adjustable Height Desktop Studio Monitor Speaker Stands ($69 USD, pair). The Clutch desktop stands can tilt up or down. I placed the desktop stand on either end of the Arc and tilt the soundbar down to help the Atmos speakers to fire further into the room to reach my sofa 18 feet (5.5 meter) away. The Fives are about ear level between 9-12 feet back (3-4 meters) behind the sofa. I placed my dual Gen 3 subs on Pangea Audio Vulcan Amp Stand on either side of the Arc (Rosenut Red, $80 USD). I raise the subs for looks and give the robot vacuum room to clean under.

    I'm definitely considering the Kanto stands, but that's because I'm also considering their passive speakers. Just need to find a good quality low cost amp/stereo receiver to match. It's a better investment than a similarly priced 2ch soundbar if you don't mind the effort to set up. If I need extra bass, I'll just get a cheap Monoprice sub.

    • @PeterPee

    Hey Peter, love your videos. I have a question regarding how the speaker was placed when on the table? How large was the surface area in front of the speaker? I found putting my P5 inwards on a table with a lot of surface area in front vs having it at the edge affects sound quality dramatically. When there's no surface of obstruction of any kind near the front of the P5 it sounds dramatically better.

    • @PeterPee
      @PeterPee  2 роки тому

      Yes, correct. For the test, I have placed the speaker right up to the edge of the table. The surface bounces off sound from the speaker so it will smear the sound a little.

    Hey Peter! Great video! Your stereo pair video made me buy a set of these! So thanks for that! 🙏
    I read on some german website that the Sonos five sound different whether you put them horizontally or vertically. It was claimed that the sonos five detects its orientation and adjusts the sound. Now I saw that in your stand set up you choose to test them in vertical position. Do you think horizontal vs vertical positioning makes a difference? Did you put that into account when testing stands vs tabletop?
    What’s your opinion on that?
    Another thing, I feel that the sonos five stereo set up is a bit „light“ in the midrange. Any idea how to adjust that? EQ only does only bass and treble.
    Would the Sonos sub help here?
    Thanks so much in advance!

      @@VidVayder yes unfortunately I am. I also own a playbar and over the last year of use it’s pretty apparent that the arc is a total downgrade ripoff. The playbar flat out sounds better than the arc. Especially for music use, because it’s far punchier, and doesn’t sound (tinny) in nature - the way the arc does! It has never had these types of issues either, concerning Sonos always screwing with it’s Dolby surround capabilities severely through updates. I’m considering just swapping them, and putting the arc in my bedroom as a stand-alone soundbar.

    • @VidVayder
      @VidVayder 2 роки тому

      @@diggergeensen860 it’s a shame that the update has caused issues! I have a Beam 2 and no sub so can’t say for sure what the solution is but I have heard tweaking with EQ can help a bit. Maybe Peter can do a video on it!

    • @diggergeensen860
      @diggergeensen860 2 роки тому

      @@VidVayder I used to run my setup with the subs level at -1, the group base at 5 and the treble at 7 and it would shake my whole house. The base was bouncy and tight. Now I’m running my setup with a subs level of 5, the base at 7 and the treble at 6. There’s literally half the base now, and what is there is muffled and distorted. They didn’t fix the lip sync problems yet, and the dialogue clarity during movie/tv watching , (which is what I’m assuming they were trying to fix) is still horrendous. The background sound effects within the group still totally overwhelms the voices. I’m not really sure what they think that they’ve accomplished here with the latest updates they’ve thrown out, but in my opinion they’ve ruined my listening experience completely - with whatever they’ve done to the arc. Why would they piss around with the output quality of the subs? The whole Dolby Atmos thing is a gimmick, as far as I’ve seen. The benefits of two tiny little up firing speakers that you’ll barely notice are not worth the $400 extra you’re spending on an arc. Save your money, if you already own a playbar, and are thinking of upgrading, because it’s not an upgrade at all. There’s a lot of digital tech reviewers on UA-cam who are talking out their ass for royalties, if they are still telling you to buy the arc with a straight face. That’s not a slight at Peter, as we all love his content. But the fact is I’ve been using sonos products for ten years. I’ve done my own diligence with testing different configurations, with a bunch of their products, and I’ve never been so disappointed in Sonos than I am right now. The ongoing problems they’ve had with the arc since day one is an embarrassment at this point. The bottom line is sonos has built their first really crappy product here! If they admitted that; they wouldn’t be able to justify it’s ridiculous price, so they just keep screwing with it, ruining it further with broken (updates) and telling the customers it’s the way they have it set up that’s the problem.
