Based on the plethora of explanations from McDonald’s employees from all over the world I’ve seen regarding the ice cream machine this is what I’ve learned:
1. A lot of my viewers have worked at McDonalds
2. The ice cream machines DO suck globally (unless you’re lucky and live near a location with extra caring management).
3. The machines are equally likely to be broken as they are to be out of ice cream or have employees with so much PTSD about cleaning them that they lie about them being broken.
Therefore- my stance remains. Buy new machines that don’t break and are easier to clean McDonalds.

Gonna be honest the McDonald's has never been broken as far as I know only ran out of ice cream once or twice.Note that I live in Indonesia so I assumed it was an American thing.

At the McDonald's I worked it was a cost deal, you half to buy a new machine from corporate McDonald's and there hella expensive apparently. I took that with a huge grain of salt as I knew my franchise is a cheep bastards so there's that lol.

We skeem about the ice cream machine
1) most of the time the machines have a heat cycle to repasturize the mix inside, so it goes down. It does that nightly.
2) it is also subject to improper cleaning most of the time and locks up
3) crew workers say it's broken cause they don't want to make ice cream cause it takes effort
Gen Xer here...Ron Jeremy wasn't so much a great thing growing up, it was more like porn wasn't as easily accessible back int he day as it is now. You pretty much had newsstands or video stores where they were in their own section that you had to be 18+ to even go in...and in such a limited selection, Ron Jeremy was one of the most common 'actors' that was involved so he was more of an unfortunate side effect of limited selection. Your guess on Willard Scott is accurate, he was an actor/Radio personality/Weatherman and was also the original Ronald McDonald. Pippi Longstocking is a Swedish children's book/movie series where the main character was a very odd little girl with a hairstyle almost exactly like Wendy's (Except sticking straight out from the sides of her head)

1. I’m not gonna get upset at you because you were dissing Wendy’s since I love going there due to a lot of personal reasons.
2. I’m mostly just surprised you didn’t know who Pippi Longstocking was. There are a few movies I think. She’s know as the strongest girl in the world, but not very smart since she grew up on a ship. Her father is basically a pirate, but a very nice pirate.
Did Pippi Longstocking actually have much reknown outside of Europe?
I mean she's still a cultural classic in the Netherlands, Belgium etc, but I can't say if she was known outside of that circle.

My mom also bought me any and every book she could think of, so maybe I'm not typical.
I distinctly remember watching many episodes of a Pippi Longstocking cartoon when I was a kid.

This battle is one of my favourites, it had that classic freestyle rap battle feel to it. The beat is fire, they each have great diss's & the way Wendy enters at the end is like another rapper who just grabbed the mic & started spitting rhymes. So happy you finally covered this one!

The Szechuan Sauce thing was also a reference to how McDonald's rereleased it recently, causing so many people (namely Rick and Morty fans) to flock to McDonald's faster than a pack of vultures to a corpse, that McDonald's nearly completely ran out of the stuff within a day and had to restock. They literally had _lines_ for days. (Hence the joke.)

1) lazy employee (don't want to so just say it can't be done)
2) it is being serviced or cleaned so people assume it does not work at all. Normally it just needs a few minutes to be back.

It's sad I have a good memory of my childhood. 1st grade, we had Ronald McDonald visit our school about chemical/drug safety. Gave out the green Mr. Yuck stickers. I remember a kid asking, who are you under the makeup. He honest said he was Willard. That stuck with me. I got to shake that man's hand as a kid. Kids with a perfect attendance got a free happy meal, and bag of coloring books and little toys, on stage with him.

I worked as a shift manager for a year at McDonald's. (Not the best time in my life.) Now, I can't say what the issue was for every other McDonald's' ice cream machines, but ours was a 10 yr old machine that was run into the ground. We would gut this machine every night to clean it, but still it seemed like every other day ot would crap out on us.
I personally told both my store manager and the store owner, that we needed a new machine (not the only thing in there half my age or older). However, the store owner was such a penny pinching prick that he always just blamed us, the employees, and refused to get new equipment.
The Pennywise line was also a secret reference to an upcoming Rap Battle with Joker and Pennywise. The battle happened shortly after this battle, so they snuck in a future reference no one would get until after

Pippi longstocking (Pippi Långstrump) is a Swedish character from several books written by Astrid Lindgren a long time ago. My parents read them when they were children ( they are born in 1960 and 1970).
And i didn't even need to look it up... since i am swedish and seen the movies and got readen to the books while growing up.

Burger King is the name the franchise in every country it operates in apart from Australia, where it is called Hungry Jacks. From what I remember, when BK decided to open here in Australia, they couldn't use the name as it was already trademarked here by a takeaway place here.

Willard became a weatherman in 1970, I believe.

You're right about Pippi Longstocking. Author was Swedish, but translated into English in the 1960's-1970's. I grew up reading the adventures of this weird girl. The most notable think I remember was she slept with her head at the foot of the bed under the covers.

I guess saying; "The hip-hopping Pippi Long Stocking". is trying to suggest that Wendy's is a more modernized version of Pippi Long Stocking.
May be a slight chance of her referring to it as a case of "Coolness". Since Pippi Langkous was technically in the show a kid who lived on her own (she lived with a monkey named Mister Nillsson and a horse.), because if I recall well enough, her dad was in prison, so everything she did and accomplished was on her own regard respectively, taking on loads of troubles and quarrels with her 2 friends in the show including a monkey that she has. Pippi in the books and series also had immense strength, so she could for example lift her horse with one bare hand, her strength was equal to her father's.

My friend used to work at McDonald's told me his manager used turn the ice cream machine off during the school rush and tell them to say it was broken so all the high school kids that would only buy a 99p McFlurry and then spend next few hours messing around upstairs would go somewhere else.

I read that Mcdiarreahs' ice cream machines being broken, is because most of the time it needs to be cleaned and they just don't want to do it, so they just tell people it is broken.

hey @we skeem , i agree with you , i been to NYC back in '99 and i did visit a Wendy burger restaurant... after ordering something i had NO idea what it was. i was pretty discusted when i got a square piece of road kill looking meat between 2 slices of bread.
as far as the personal choice between BK or MCD , i prefer BK.. atleast there you actually taste the meat. at MCD everything tastes the same ( the meat doesnt taste like anything , its just the sauce you taste ).

I have heard that the ice cream machines are not "broken" per say. It is just that they are cleaned frequently which takes a long time. Instead of explaining this, they just say they are broken. And since they are always cleaned at the same time, people who eat at mcdonalds at roughly the same time will always encounter a "broken" machine.

Actually We Skeem the McDonald's ice cream machines aren't broken or dirty, what happens is that the machines need to taken completely apart to be properly cleaned and then be put back together, a process that takes several hours and has to be done daily, and is normally done at the same time every day. But because the majority of people are idiots it's easier to just say that the machine is broken instead of trying to explain
