Thank you for the quick and vigilant correction my nerd brethren. Jason Todd got beat to a pulp, not Dick. Then he got blown up 👌 Edit: For those asking, I cannot see well enough to catch visual Easter eggs. I grab those when I watch again after my reaction. My body is not ready for Thanos vs Captain Nuke. But, it is inevitable. Edit 2: Yes, I’ve been informed of the 99 Red Balloons song. I feel like it makes the bar worse, honestly (it’s an anti-war song and seems like an out-of-place reference if it was deliberate). So I’m going to pretend it was only a Jay Z reference. Edit 3: I’ve been informed of the Jack Nicholson connection that was meant to be taken from the *wink wink* Shining bar.
Quadruple reference, I think: 1. To pennywise himself, giving out balloons, linked into... 2. A reference to 99 balloons, (the german song), which flows into... 3. JayZ's "99 problems, but a bitch ain't one, but it uses the "bitch" part to... 4. bring it back to the Joker, while simultaneiously insulting him. ….that's fairly impressive reference packing, there.

I didnt wanna be THAT guy but: The "Fall from a new height" line is possibly a reference to the first Batman Movie as Joker died by falling off the Church tower
The line where he says I can't be killed is also reference to I believe it's a fan theory that the Joker is Immortal and they even made a comic book series that Batman find a picture of what looks like the Joker from the Wild Wild West timeline and they play it off as the Joker being Immortal it cannot be killed. Interesting comics
Yeah. Could be. I’ve always found those storylines tiresome. I prefer a mortal Joker who’s just a person. More terrifying in my opinion. Immortal joker just becomes a crazy Ra’s Al Ghul.
@@WeSkeem also a line I may be reaching on is a turtle thats not even a ninja, I also read into that joker saying he may have lost to a bat but atleast he was a ninja haha. Penneywise had such an underrsted line with "I feast on your fears" "if you wanna call a batman, eat him when he's a boy" and joker says "dont lay a hand on my bat you little freak" it shows Batman isn't jokers greatest fear, but someone ELSE killing Batman before joker can break him into his way of thinking.
@@jester5311 or (if I'm remembering correctly) it's referring to one of the newer movies that shows Joker being friends with Bruce as a child. Maybe in joker's mind that version of Bruce is still his friend and that's why he got protective of him.

That camera scene is a hidden bar from Joker. It’s a reference to his movie, "A Killing Joke" which means he "Killed IT" with his bars as well as that reference.
The "I spit acid" line by the Joker is also a reference to how there are multiple iterations of him that have a gag flower on his jacket that will spray acid on you instead of water.

Thank you for being the first person I’ve seen catch that ICP line I’ve gone through every reactor to see if someone would catch it and ur the only one ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Arianna Herner dude I agree!!
"Shit clown. Hehe"
I thought I was the only one who thought that at first when I first saw the rap battle. Thanks for the laugh.
Thank you for the quick and vigilant correction my nerd brethren. Jason Todd got beat to a pulp, not Dick. Then he got blown up 👌
Edit: For those asking, I cannot see well enough to catch visual Easter eggs.
In the batman Arkham knight video game Jason Tod came back
Correct
@@reymundocalderon3553 he comes back in the comics too I believe and in an animated movie as well as red hood trying to kill the joker
love ur outfit
Red hood was beating joker with a crowbar joker was like let’s a picture you me the kid ooo and one with the crowbar lmao
I have no clue who won, truly an Epic Rap Battle
Facts
I would say joker
My bias is telling me joker but I think penny wise barely won
BIG FACTS
I dont know 'bout that, but what i do know is that Jared Leto lost.
99 Red Balloons was a reference to the song by Lena called "99 Luft Balloons" or "99 Red Balloons". It's a popular song from Germany.
but with the word bitch it had to be intertwined with jay z
Double reference?
Quadruple reference, I think:
Feels like a mix of all three!
@@kevinschultz6091 epic layered bar yeah lol
That tiny tiny "Why so serious", whom no one has talked about 😅
I think I’ve just found my new favourite channel for ERB reactions. Don’t apologise for pausing because it’s great to see a break down and proper reaction.
"Ask Robin if I can drop bars" Damn. Jason Todd agrees.
16:54 the Joker is holding the camera in the same way as he did on the cover of The Killing Joke
I like how you explain the bars, super interesting, I didn’t mind you pausing. Subscribed by the way. I also love how you stay anonymous very seriously.
Glad you dig it. Welcome to the freak show.
"You're supposed to be the man who laughs." Is such a good reference though. Call back to that VERY old film which the joker was originally based off of.
"I take smiles and I leave scars" is also a reference to the Glasgow Smile, which was the inspiration for the jagged smile makeup on recent Jokers.
“You’re suppose to be the Man who Laughs”
This is referencing how Joker was inspired by the early film “Man who Laughs”
Small lil’ detail
I love how you gat all those references I thought I was the only one, you get an instant sub!🔥🔥
I’ll take it! I was losing my mind over all the bars they had.
Imma sub... He's better at catching the bars than Crypt
Wow... Even after a month ago... You'd still revisit comments and like them??? I really respect that bro!❤️🔥🇯🇲💯 Thx
Please do more ERB reactions ... You're the only youtuber that got all the references
You got it chief.
George Pitt no life Shaq got all of the references too
@Legend actually he they both missed the john doe in my deadlights line. A baby deer is a doe and the deadlights are referring to headlight because deers get hit by cars
@@SAVAGEXD29 nah nolifeshaq got the dear part too.
@@SAVAGEXD29 a female deer is a doe, a baby deer is a fawn.
7:45 Also echoing "deer in a headlight"
9:50 Also the song, 99 luftballons
12:00 Separating the "Mark Ham with ill" also makes the name rhyme with Arkham
12:30 His flower also literally spits acid (in some iterations I guess?)
13:03 This is echoing a quote from Jackson's Joker, something with: dancing with the devil under moonlight
@@WeSkeem true, and gotta say you caught more bars then anyone else so far haha. A lot I missed I'm glad you knew too lol
DRFT Jester you getting deep in shower thoughts now
@@jester5311 or (if I'm remembering correctly) it's referring to one of the newer movies that shows Joker being friends with Bruce as a child. Maybe in joker's mind that version of Bruce is still his friend and that's why he got protective of him.
“You’re about to fall from new heights” I personally think that was a jab on how the Joker died in The Dark Knight
Sah Dude but he didn’t die. Batman saves him.
@@depressedterrestrial6821 He *did* die by falling off the roof of a cathedral in the 1989 movie, though.
@@Quirderph Ah, I forgot about that one.
The Man Who Laughs line was a reference to a 1928 movie often credited as the inspiration for the Joker’s character and smile in particular. It’s great to watch an actual analysis of the battle so early!
Damn I should’ve noticed that one. I knew I’d miss a ton with how many bars they were layering in there. It was such a good track.
There's also a comic called "Batman: The Man Who Laughs" which is based on Batman #1, and "The Batman Who laughs" Which is an alternate comic
Hi, big Edgar Allen Poe fan here! The Cask Of Amontillado is a short story where Montresor is the narrator and villain of the story, and leads a man dressed as a jester named Fortinado into the catacombs with the promise of an extremely rich and rare wine (Amontillado), and then Monstressor murders Fortinado by bricking him up behind a wall, which is the end of the story.
Saw this in my feed, thought I'd rewatch it.
Still amazing.
I was hesitant to watch this reaction mostly because you spooked me with the mask but Im glad I did. Keep up the great work, Subbed and looking forward to your videos.
Welcome!
@@WeSkeem to be fair I FUCKING LOVE YOUR MASK
2012:iron man: avengers, assemble
2019: we skeem: nerds, assemble
🤣
I’m so sorry, but Cap was the one that said “Avengers Assemble”
Two Dogs and a Dingo actually cap never finished the line (in the movie). Cap said Avengers A.... and it cut to black.
@@cbutleris actually were both wrong. No one said "avengers assemble" in 2012
Yay another Tim Curry fan, the greats are so rarely mentioned.

SPAAACE!
the final frontier these are the voyages of the the starship Enterprise it's/our ongoing/5yr mission to seek out new life, new civilisations, to boldly go where no man/one has gone before
FINALLY a reactor who knows who Mark Hamel is! Or for that matter Tim Curry...or Caesar Romero! I was feeling very “get off my lawn” for a bit there
Awesome. I really like the fact that you take time to explain each reference. I understand much more now than the first time I saw the battle. Good job. You got yourself a new follower 👍
loved how in depth this breakdown was haha
I couldn’t help myself.
We Skeem has a mental breakdown (2019, colorized)
Haha. Top score.
Happened a few years ago. Now it’s public. This is who he is now.
That camera scene is a hidden bar from Joker. It’s a reference to his movie, "A Killing Joke" which means he "Killed IT" with his bars as well as that reference.
Griffin Chalem it was a movie too, animated tho
"One more verse, let's go"
Third verse comes in like a fuckin' train
I really like that you fully explain the bars because some of the references didn't make sense to me personally but you explained it really well👍
This J vs P battle topped the rest and slowly was destroying are host 🥺
It was a brutal affair.
The "I spit acid" line by the Joker is also a reference to how there are multiple iterations of him that have a gag flower on his jacket that will spray acid on you instead of water.
Thank you.
Jason Todd was the one that caught the bars literally lmao
I liked the literature references but my favorite line will always be “ask robin if i drop bars”
"I spit acid, be wowed." Is a reference for his corsage that spits acid... just in case anyone missed that.
The shining reference is cuz Jack Nicholson played Joker and was in Shining. Not just a simple jab. Just an fyi
I think that the "You're John Doe in my deadlights" line refers to a doe (a deer, a female deer) in headlights
Its both a deer in the headlights refrense while also being that nobody knows who the Joker really is (aka a John Doe)
"In the actual book version the kids have an a-"
Me: *thinking he's gonna say orgy* Don't say it!
"-ura"
Me: oh. Cool.
But I definitely went hard into the train on Bev later on. Sorry for that 😂
@@WeSkeem No, no, man. You're good. It was just a misleading syllable. I knew you were going to bring it up when Joker got to his part anyway.
This is my favorite Erb, it's neck and neck the entire time
Who won?
We did. This was the perfect ERB. The beat was incredible, the bars were so layered, even the matchup had such great confluences of timing, relatability, subject matter and intent. The production value was absolutely insane. This ERB was a perfect storm, lightning in a bottle.
And your analysis of the bars, and even your frantic nerdgasms by the end are top notch and likely EXACTLY what ERB shoot for. Great reaction, great channel. Subbed.
When they’re saying the ending epic rap battles of history there was a thanos glove and a guy on an old television.
My body isn’t ready.
That's Robert Oppenheimer.
Oppenheimer vs Thanos
Two people who made weapons of mass destruction for different meanings of peace
Thanos the mad titan who is in love with Death, and J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who "become death, destroyer of worlds".
Maaan never feel bad for pausing and explaining bars man. You did great! Most reactors are miss or dont really know how to explain some of these bars. Keep it up man!
I’ll do my best.
Omg is this an actually good breakdown of an web with negligible missed lines? That’s a sub and a like my dude
I’ll take it 😊
This is what made me follow Skeem right away also lol.
Everyone: JaSoN tOdD
Me:but, but what about the Jack Nicholson "Shining man" joke
Yea that literally had three references
Wow dude actually got every line. Props man. And props on rising up in the subs. ERB helped out in comments.
Kudos to you man.
If you look closely, when he says "I spit acid" it's from him squeezing the flower on his tux
If I recall correctly, the John Doe line also refers to the Tell Tale games version of Joker, who went under the alias of 'John Doe'.
This ERB had so many bars in it that it's just absolutely outstanding.
I thought the acid line was referencing the joker's flower which shot acid instead of water
Just found out about your channel man. I absolutely love these reactions. It’s great to see you break down every bar, and all the references. I get a good number of them, but I miss some of them. It’s good to get it all cleared up. Keep up the great work!
"When i flow i go Mark HAM with ill zingers"
he meant that when he flows he goes HARD AS A MOTHERFUCKER (HAM) with sick funny/clever remarks (zingers)
And Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) did the voice of Joker in the animated series
+Sala6a Gaming. The bar is genius.
I think people miss that he says "Mark *Ham* with *Ill* zingers"
the whole name is mentioned, there is no mistaking this reference

God damn, I really thought Joker won because I’m not a big fan of the IT property but damn after seeing how layered his stuff was like jokers I can’t really tell now, amazing job.
(Joker still got my vote because of his line defending bats was nothing short of Godlike)
How have on only found your reaction channel today? I haven't laughed this hard since I woke up and found out my getting married wasn't a nightmare.
I super seeming late on all this... but I love how informative you are in this. I thank you for breaking down the bars... this was awesome !!!
18:12 "That was a lot of layers guys"
It took me a second to process what he said, I see he has some wordplay of his own.
(Fortunado was buried in a basement with so many layers built on him in the Cask of Amontillado)
See. Everyone complains about the bars I didn’t catch. But you don’t see me complaining that nobody catches mine. Appreciate you for noticing my jokes tho.
@@WeSkeem Yeah, I noticed a bunch (in fact, the whole video itself had jokes everywhere in it) which I thought were really funny, this one is my favorite for sure, first time here but definently subscribed. The thing is, those that are complaining about you missing specific bars forget that you explained to them the ones they missed, so really, it's the natural human assumption of exadurating their ability to preemptively predict things which they couldn't till after it was explained or revealed to them, I guess taking psychology did prove useful lol.
We Skeem Don’t worry, man. I seen reactions that got less of the bars, the least was only about a third.
Wasn't Joker in that Batman telltale game, he was John Doe right?
Correct.
Shamboople yea that was that reference because joker in most comics he’s and unidentified person so John Doe is the name they use for unidentified people and also Doe as deer cause deer are always getting run over so caught in dead lights “ aka “headlights of a car
The Crowbar bar was about the Jason Todd Robin , not Dick Grayson, who later became NightWing, Jason Todd’s Robin later became the red hood. The Joker kidnapped Jason Todd and his mother and beat them with a crowbar them until they were nearly dead and then blew up the factory they were in
Glad I commented this before it became a meme on this channel
Watching your joy, pain, and exasperation over this was more enjoyable than the battle itself. Lol. You can always tell you did a great reaction when the creator drops into your comments. Got a sub and I'm looking forward to more crazy stuff, kudos.
