Wonderful....what a beautiful ruin, I love the way they built those arched ceilings. Once again Nic, fantastically well presented with great history. Love em.
How beautiful, so much to see. I like old buildings. And the music you have with it, so fitting. Thank you for the walk and taking the time to do it. I enjoy it again and again. 😃🤗
Thanks, Dave! I think you and Logan might enjoy a walk here. Nearby is the Royal Victoria Chapel and the Royal Victoria Country Park just on the coast. All looks very interesting!
Another triumph, Nic! 👏 I think I would’ve been the same as you with that woman in the coat… and that photo looked pretty similar to what you captured anyway, so maybe it just captured the back of another visitor? 🤔 always look forward to your videos, keep ‘em coming! 🖤🖤
Thanks Claire! ❤️ Yes, I saw two visitors who looked like spooky black figures! When you're thinking about spooks, you're gonna see spooks in everything! Great place though. Thanks for watching 😊
Fascinating and beautifully presented, I have visited the Abbey but I must admit, most of its history passed me by, that has now been rectified, thank you.
Amazing Video! I used to live in Netley and spent many a night roaming the abbey grounds looking for ghosts. It's lovely to see you exploring these historical places. It's like I've found a kindred spirit 🙂
This was beautifully done, Nic! I always greet magpies, crows, ravens, as is proper. 😊 So lovely to see this gorgeous location while we have a blizzard rolling in. Thank you!
That was definitely the Black Monk you caught on camera!😲... and I won't hear otherwise! No old church would be complete without a magnificent yew tree. Nice work, great drone shots too!
Thanks for that delightful video, Nic😊 Netley Abbey must have been really something in years gone by. What a pity you couldn't get into the church. The stonework looked very clean and beautiful on the outside. I would imagine the interior would be similar. Was the lytch gate made of stone with timber fillings?
I know netley, worked there back in the 90s, And about a mile down the road, is what's left of Florence nightingale nursing school as mentioned in Sherlock Holmes.
Beautiful? A bit of a fixer-upper I'd say. Keep on wyrdly walking and vlogging for us. Thanks! And the yew tree? M or F it might have been on the change.
There is so much more to the Abbey that people don't know about. The Sacristy was in fact the Mortuary Chapel, with the Lady Chapel next to it. The Sacristy was upstairs ybt the Redorter. There are numerous tunnels under the abbey, one leads to Netley Castle over the road, another to the nursing home in Fountains Lane, both are blocked up. There is a blocked up passage on site. King Henry's foundation stone is there if you know where to look. There was a moat around part of it. The "Abbot's" house was referred to as his house and a dungeon. The fish ponds where the monks use to fish are still there, but you have to go up a privated road to access them. Sadly the abbey is becoming subject to vandalism, the murals in the Mortuary Chapel and the Chapter house still can be seen.
What a beautiful ruin, if I had somewhere a box with millions of pounds, I would buy the ruin and restore it and turn it into a house again, but unfortunately I don't have that much money so it will always remain a ruin. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I see a lot of historic graffiti on my travels. I was recently looking round angel meadow manchesters most notorious victorian slums and noticed names carved into a bridge nearby and one of them is hirridge who was one of the areas more well known criminals and him and his gang used to hang about near the bridge. This also led us to manchesters southern cemetery where the famouse detective jerome comanada is burried along with lowry the angel of the meadow and some other famous people. Lowry is another link to angel meadow as he painted some of his paintings round there and we had a trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed which was lowrys favourite place to holiday and he painted a few scenes from the area also we had to visit lindisfarne 😊
Of the nine levels of Hell, have you often wonder which level Henry VIII ended up on? I certainly have and when you visit these places you have to wonder.
The Ghost monk is upset since the church he was part of promised him heaven and he only got stuck in hell. If you give us your tithes and service we will promise you something that will never be delivered. Thats man made organized religion.

Thanks so much for your kind feedback, Mark! I really do appreciate it every time 🙂

Awww Panaka! 🫶🏻 I'm so pleased you enjoy my walks! It's a pleasure to create for people like you!
What a fascinating place to visit Nic. Looks like you had it all to yourself as well!
Thanks, Dave! I think you and Logan might enjoy a walk here. Nearby is the Royal Victoria Chapel and the Royal Victoria Country Park just on the coast. All looks very interesting!
@@walkingthewyrd One for the notebook then!

Thanks! I bet that was good fun - roaming around the spooky grounds at night! It's such a fantastic ruin.

A blizzard?! Oh no! I was really lucky with the weather on this occasion because the rain hit as I left! Thanks for watching, Jodi! 😊
Another awesome place! Thank you for showing us 😊. Think the figure in black would have freaked me for a moment 😂
It sure did make me sweat for just a second or two! 😅 Thanks for watching, always appreciated 🖤
Great one very beautiful place
Thanks SrSpookfest! 🤟🏻

Thanks, David! OK, it was the black monk - we'll go with that! 😄
Thanks as always for taking the time to watch and comment!

Stunning, absolutely stunning. Thank you for taking us along with you.
Hi Julie! Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, what an amazing place !!!
Great walk Nic 👍👍👻
Thanks, Sarah! ❤️
Thank you so much. I really enjoy your walks, and talks, and feel I am almost there with you. Fabulous!
What a lovely comment, Kate! Thank you so much!
Love the old architecture..our ancestors knew how to build..another well.done vid nic!😁👍
They certainly did! Thanks so much for watching again, Mike! Always appreciated 🙂
I like Netley since it is nice compact. Fountains Abbey is totally mind warping in scale and architecture.
That was spookie

Fascinating stuff! Thanks for sharing. How I long to go to Lindisfarne!

Oh, absolutely!
Netley Castle across the road from the Abbey is also haunted by a Woman.
Interesting! Thank you. A return trip may be in order!
