I’m pretty sure that a lot of silica in your lungs! That “mask” ain’t help. If you’re doing this In the future use a grinder with vacuum attachment and shop vacuum or industrial vacuum along with a respirator. Just an FYI

Please help stop these contractors I was a carpenter never given protection or even warned of the dangers when dry drilling into concrete and dry cutting fiber cement board siding now I have scarring in my lungs and worry everyday I will die from silicosis with no hope no cure no treatments everyday across the subdivisions in Jacksonville there are people still dry cutting and dry drilling into concrete it has turned my entire life upside down and wish 1 person would have told me so I could have left immediately I reported this to osha and nothing was done the contractor still do it to this day. Please help stop this its killing a lot of us I don't understand why the contractors are not criminally charged for this

Not wearing PPE or using a guard? This is a really great video to learn what not to do.

Very good point. You should always wear safety gear, especially a dust mask

Real question. How would you get the two sides nice and flush like that with a guard on the grinder? I am going to attempt a similar project and am certainly safety conscious. However, I feel like th guard would make it really tough to get it nice and even. Thx.

Think I would have cut out that cracked section and just poured a new section. Those roots are just going to keep breaking and moving that older section.

So glad you turn the volume off during the grinding action. Nobody needs to hear that loud noise.

Looks good! Could you have poured concrete in there? I have similar cracking in my garage.

I got a special concrete caulk that I pushed in there after I ground out the trip hazard. It was a two part concrete epoxy

Thanks man, just had to do this exact same thing. Took about two hours on seventy year old basalt mix concrete with a 125mm (5 inch) grinding disc. Got to redo it this weekend as my wife decided to 'clean' the repair with a pressure hose, and took about half an inch off the patch job.

Two steps forward one step back, I was just about to pressure wash as well but might put it off

Mate, you can reduce the dust flying around and the wear on the grinding disc by wetting the concrete with water. Is that a grinder or polisher you used because grinding wheels are intended for use with a grinder and with a protective 'guard' installed for your safety.
