Drove by that tractor and baler for many years, nice to see someone doing something with it.
Has sat there as long as I can remember.
I have a 50 just like yours, 1956 Harris edition. It's a phenomenal tractor, and very versatile for my small farm. I was (and still am) very impressed!
They are good little tractors. Much improved over their predecessors
i grew up on case.strated driving a D and a DC when i was 10
broke in a new 400 and a 830.love all of them thank you for
saving them.
Doing my best. Thanks for watching.
I can't get over the amount of beautiful old tractors that are just abandoned in America.
costs to repair aint worth fixing most times.
@RandyMartin-jx8yi I suppose especially if you can't do it yourself like this man can.
Getting less and less each day though.
@ brother go try to get some tractor repair done and youll see why costs astronomical.
The difference between the Wheatland, Western out there and the Row Crop 930's here in Midwest is amazing. Difference in farming methods
@@dankreoger611 all 930s looked like this the first couple years. Comfort king row crop came along in 64 I believe.
I have a neighbor that owns one of these early hand clutch 930s . They were quite the horse in their day. Good video.
They were a better tractor than they get credit for I think. Just to many guys hung up on two lungers at the time.
I always just spun out of the windrow and made a big circle when tying to avoid all the lever and clutch work before the bale kickers were available. Neat to see all those 930's together.....I still have a '69 930 Diesel
That would be a good way to do it for sure.
My grandpa bought his Case 930 row crop brand new. By the time he retired he had 3 of them on the ranch. Later on I bought a Case 930 Comfort King diesel with the hand clutch and wheatland front axle. It ran great, but had no brakes. I paid $1500 for it.
Normal to not have brakes.
Our first round baler was the later model of that one. Ours was a 2400. We bought it new in 82-83 when I was around 14 years old, and if I remember correctly it was 6200 dollars. Ours made pretty decent bales for smooth belts. Although it could be tricky starting the bale. Rolled up many a bales with that old girl. We baled thousands of prairie hay and hay grazer bales with it. On that Case , Having both the batteries and the PTO inside the cab with ya could be problematic if there was issues with either. Lol great content!
Safety wasn’t exactly priority back in those days. Interesting insight on the baler.
2400 was our first in 1991. We baled usually about 500 a year with it forever
Those Masseys were sold in 3 versions. The MH 50, Ferguson TO35 and the Ferguson 40. I have a 930 CK with a narrow front and the brakes are useless which can be a problem here in New York.
I could see how that wouldn’t be good.
Neat to see the different types of tractors the way they are optioned versus here in NY. Have never seen any like that around here. Strangest one I have heard of from a friend is an IH 706 Wheatland 4-wheel drive. Still has the badges on it for the All-Wheel Drive. He's been trying to buy it for years. The 282 has to be rebuilt, but he is more than capable for that. Hopefully one of these days soon we can go see the guy again.
That would be a crazy cool tractor to have. Not much all wheel drive IH stuff around here at all.
I owned a Massy Ferguson 50 and a Massey Harrison 50 both gasoline one a utility with loader and one a high clearance power steering. Both 1956 . Great small size farm tractors. That one is in excellent condition on the outside.👍
Hopefully I can get it up and going again soon!
i run a 900b case tractor and a 605b Vermeer round baler and I get along great with it and the shifting don't really bother me
Good to know.
Wow very nice we have nothing in the weeds around here thumb of mi. Love your videos 😊
That’s no fun.
I’m impressed by the air conditioning
It’s sure something.
Our first "big" tractor was a 930, probably in about 63-64. We got that when neighbors got 4020's and 806's. We had an M&W turbocharger put on it a few years later-gave it lots of power but revealed totally inadequate cooling. Traded it for a 1030 that actually seemed to do the work it was advertised to do. First Case was a 400 diesel, I still have that one. Not many of those left in WC Indiana, but lots of 4020's.
Interesting point of view. I could definitely see how that would cause issues. Sure don’t see a lot of 1030s around.
I see you have a Dual 3100 loader at your house. Those were always my favorite loaders. They look so beefy with the heavy duty grapple fork on them. I see one in our area mounted on a Oliver 88 gas tractor in our area for $2500. I never thought I would see that big of a loader on a Oliver 88.
This loader was on a Ford 5000 diesel row crop.
@@tmonteIH That is the same tractor that "Project Farm" youtube channel tested "engine restore" in a can on to see if it could bring the engine back to good compression.
Another neat Ol tractor left to self destruction. I can't imagine why that front end is like that. I saw a 1030 case that the whole front axle had been replaced with a old truck axle, very weird. Thanks.
Lots of truck front axle conversions in the NE Sandhills hay country.
Enjoyed your video have a great day.
Have a nice day
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching.
I have a vermeer round baler , it has a floor belt like that I H C baler. I read that when vermeer started building round balers they could not make enough round balers. They had a deal with International to build their baler , it was painted red. My vermeer still works. I have another vermeer baler that needs put back together , and a little repair work.
Good insight.
@@tmonteIH Wasn't Vermeer the first to sell a big round baler? I know it was the first brand I ever saw.
@ yes. They were a 7x6 bale.
I remember growing up using them old ih round balers if like to get some more for parts and etc
Come get it.
Really nice looking old case ! Sure hope someone could restore it to its former glory?
Idk about restore but we will try to make it run.
That early 930 six speed is pretty straight. I can't help you with the extended front axle. We have a 600 and it shifts real well between 2nd and reverse.
600 would be a fun one to have.
Another awesome video sir, a word of advice on the Massey don’t try to fiddle with the shifter to much it’s a lot easier to just pull the top cover and take the shaft and shift forks out or you will be trying to find a bunch of parts. Don’t ask me how I know lol
Had already planned on pulling the cover. Done it on a little ford before.
@ I wish that I would have done that first because it caused me a lot of ass ache trying to find the parts. But I went ahead and split the tractor and put a clutch and everything in it anyway
@ lessons learned.
@ the hard way for me as usual
I have round baled with a Case 1030 and a Case 1175 on a mostly modern New Holland baler. The 1030 needed the hydraulic pressure upped a little I know it's not easy on the clutch but other than that it's fine.
1175 be easier shifting than a 1030 probably but not by much.
@tmonteIH no the 1030 has a direct lever for the gears and a nicer foot throttle the 1175 is harder to shift.
@ less linkage to bind up.
@tmonteIH oh I should add my baler uses mostly net wrap for the speed increase this takes little time so I just leave it in gear with the clutch disengaged and slow the engine down when engaging the clutch again.
@ that makes a difference.
Massey 50's were good tractors. Owner of repair shop I worked at through college had a Massey Harris 50. Bought it new at auction when the dealer went out of business. Something about knocking up his high school age secretary 😮. My FFA teacher had a very nice Ferguson 40 on narrow rears. Only one I've seen local. Chassis on Massey Harris 50 should be bronze almost metallic. AL B.
This one is metallic but has spent to much time in the sun.
Would like to see will it start on both tractors if possible
Hopefully will get there sometime soon. Massey 50 will be sticking around for sure. Not sure on the 930.
That power steering cylinder looks the same as what came on an IH 600 and 650 tractors
Could be. Would have to look at my 650.
I used one from a friend baler ,it made good bales that was in the 70s
The early days of round balers.
Like how the early 930s look, hate using one.
Sure wouldn’t want to take one to the field for very long I don’t think.
Nice iron!!
Thanks.
Wild looking power steering 😮 them IH balers where prone to fire bearings going out 😢
It’s a wild steering set up for sure.
Its possible that tractor did a lot of hillside brush hogging or something similar, it's not unusual to have tractors with the front axles moveable from the factory for that exact reason. Keeps the tractor a little more stable going across the side of a steep hill baling or brush cutting or whatever
Ya I guess so. Except it’s pretty flat country around that area.
My uncle has a 706 with the 310 and m&w turbo kit and also a 766 with a 466 swapped into it
766 with a turbo would be stout.
@tmonteIH it has a 466 with a big turbo only issue is the u bolts like to break off
Some of the home made cabs are just works of art. But I do agree sometimes it just don't belong on them. 😢
I like some of them. Others not so much. This one is trashed enough it’s hard to care about.
Kept the wind and cold off of the operator back in the day though
I have a 1961 also. I would like to find some battery covers for mine.
Wouldn’t have a clue where to look.
I like the 930 comfort king a lot better. To me it looks better.
I completely agree. Better driving too.
That 930 does have a decompression lever you will find that useful
Yep. So does a 900.
The front axle was probably extended for double swath windrows/heavy swaths while using it to round bale with??
Yeah definitely a bit of a stretch 😉
But definitely not my first pick for a round baling tractor but at least it has a cab/AC 😂
I’d bet the AC system hasn’t been operable since the early 80s.
I know where there's a old case similar with loader setting, not sure who or if they would sale it, by cleo springs oklahoma
I don’t think I need to travel that far for one currently.
nice tractor with cab air c
Thanks
ive got the ih2400 baler never use reverse the wide belt throws the bale out hay has to be absolutely dry or press roll plugs I keep thinking a gutted out 241 could be made into a windrow inverter
I never thought about the belts ejecting the bale.
930’# were very light on the front, what kind if cab???
Full Vision
Bonjour , bravo pour la restauration et la préservation du patrimoine agricole . Se sont de magnifiques engins . Est-ce que la presse va être sauvée également ? Elle mériterait une restauration car elle est en bon état . Bonne continuation
Yes I’ll be coming back for the baler. Might hook it to an IH 1066 just for show.
Massey harris 50. Was it original yellow like the wheels? Haven't seen many of the massey harris 50's..
@@neilkratzer3182 they were gold belly and wheels like the 333-444-555.
@@tmonteIH The Massey 50's were red and copper, not gold.
Your Case tractor looks like a Case 900. Not a Case 930. My Case 930 had the diesel fuel tank on the back of the tractor behind the cab. Last year a good running Case 900 diesel came up for sale in our area with the hand clutch for $600. It still took a long time to sell, because I don't think it had much for options on the back end and was just used to pull a trailer for hauling rocks out of the field.
Your 930 was a comfort king. The early 930s were much like a 900.
Well done ... 😐 !!
Thanks
That 930 looks like 1960. Those two front case weights are rare.
It’s a 1961 by the serial number.
Chickin nuggies make everything better.
I like the hot picante personally.
Also I have looked at your site... I keep saying down boy, as im.a reformed farm kid and big 1/64 collector.
You might need a few 1/64 toys!
@@tmonteIHoh... it's gonna happen... I just gotta time it right so the wife doesn't get mad...
I used to Rodeo, I farmed growing up, I have "and obscene amount" of 1/64... she's a city girl. Gotta go easy, lo
Moral of the story, i just got her watching Rodeo and liking it... baby steps...
I wonder if you could make or buy like ramps with rollers for loading the likes of this on the trailer.
Never seen it but maybe.
Left rear looks like right rear locked up. Did you graduate?
It was cold.
Early low seat 930 is something you don't see every day
Much easier to find a comfort king
Is that a 4840 john deere in the background I think I saw
Nope it’s not a 4840.
That Cummins has a rev limiter ya know, let her have it lol
I like my pickup more than that.
They were a lemon just like a John Deere 500 round baler
Pretty much
That is not the tractor i thought it was, the one i was thinking of is north of hanston.
Gotcha. I was definitely a little cornfused when you said Jetmore.
@tmonteIH I sent you a screenshot of the tractor I had thought it was. It's dang close too it ..
@ very very similar tractors for sure.
Almena ? North of WaKeeney ks ? Watching from Topeka
Thanks for watching.
Aber da sieht man doch was ein Qualität die Reifen bzw die Schläuche hatten, das die noch die Luft halten
It’s amazing they held air.
pour débloquer le moteur il faut du pétrole melanger avec du gasoil
Good tip
People do tend to shoot at you if you drive a Case that's the reason I traded for a Ford.
That’s odd.
I was already in my sixties before understanding our need for a farmer or cattle rancher. I worked on this old junk in washington state before moving to alaska in 84. I worked on and off after nineteen seventy but who really knows what they want to be. Heck, I wanted to be a cowboy and ride horses as I did work for a man who used pack horses for the forest service. That was in 57, 8, and nine. I cried when Kennedy was assassinated.. seen many things no one would believe. My dad had me handing him wrenches before I was old enough to argue. It is just how it was. I found out I was a fair hand at diesel engines, and any other stuff mechanical. I got good at fab work... worked with some of the very best during this time period. Stories galore yet not willing to talk or tell them, even I don't believe them and I saw stuff that happened. Acetone and transmission fluid seems to find its way past any stuck cylinders... no harm and no foul to the engine... decided to sub to your channel but I am more into starting, repairing, and machine work... no problem as I am just a bored older person
Muy buen video, excelente trabajo y felicitaciones por rescatarlos
no deberían quedar abandonados una lastima y gracias por el traductor
a español. saludos.
A lot of guys just left their farms behind and rented out their ground. Lots of machinery forgotten that way.
@@tmonteIH que pena las nuevas generaciones no valoren esa herramienta
que tanto hiso por nosotros, para alguien como yo que ama las maquinarias
me alegra que alla gente como vos que las rescata.
Horrible baler , neat old tractor. It can get cold in the valley for sure!
Been a chilly few days.
No wonder IHC WENT TO HESTON balers lol
They weren’t great.
I would leave the cab on it iam sure the guy that would buy it would want cab on it I'd say as a collector
We will see what happens.
ok
Someone would love to buy that cab I no you never keep a cab on a tractor so save it
Not sure anyone wants a full vision cab that’s got lots of broken glass and is missing the door.
That doesn't look like a 930 to me my uncle has one with 3 point on it and it has 6 cylinder diesel engine. And much larger tractor than the one you have there. That looks like 530 or 630 to me
I think your uncle had a comfort king. This is an earlier one.
Never was a fan of the 30 series JI Case's.
To each their own.
I would come and help you with your tractors and learn from you how to mend them but you live to far Away a friend England billsley Birmingham
It’s a big world.
That's original cab on that case vary rare
It’s a full vision cab. Not factory case.
This is a 30 min video and this guy was rambling out the mouth for 15 mins thumbs down
Any comment is a good comment. Thanks for the view!
