A thread where the UIU recruits out of the less volatile American users of Parawatch would be interesting.
I'm wondering how many of the serpents hand recruit from parawatch.
I always wondered how a group of regular, normal conspiracy theorists would fit into the world of SCP
I forget what it’s called, but there’s a tale in the Broken Masquerade canon that shows some reactions from them

To be honest, the premise of Parawatch makes me think it's just an alternate universe version of 4chan's /x/ board. And now that I think about it, it's actually charming in its own way, since the SCP wiki's origins can be traced back to /x/.
Well, the SCP Foundation was started by 4chan, and quite a few 4chan-isms exist in various SCPs, like that Furry-killing SCP. Still the stupidest thing I have ever heard.
Every comment replying to this one "NO THATS A GOOD THING!"

Wait, there's a furry-killing SCP?
Damn, if that's true, that'd be up there with the sentient satellite that runs a Tumblr blog.
And people say horseshoe theory is fake.
@@Sneaker3719 Horseshoe theory?
@@jakespacepiratee3740
Right, forgot I wasn't on political UA-cam.
Basically, horseshoe theory is the idea that as one travels farther down the political extremes, either left or right, the more they seem similar, in that they both become authoritarian, with the main examples of this phenomenon being the Soviet Union for the left and Nazi Germany for the right.
So, instead of a line spectrum, it's a horseshoe shape instead.
In reality, it's a very crackpot theory based on surface-level understanding of political theory. I'd say the far left is a lot more libertarian than the far right.
Even so, it does make for funny memes occasionally, like with right here.
@@Sneaker3719 I mean yeah I guess I would agree. I have read both the furry-killing SCP and associated tales, it all definately seems spiteful, like a murder-fantasy. The guy who wrote it made it back in 2011 so I guess it just seemed normal back then idk

I like to watch Explorer's videos cos they usually present the scps in a less suspenseful way, for me it creeps me out less. But this one, especially the Forrest Gump one, really has me freaked.
Ok now i want a ttrpg set in the SCP universe where the party is a group of Parawatch operatives relentlessly searching for the truth, and clashing frequently and violently with different GOI’s, including the Foundation itself.
A quick Google search turned up two already-existing games titled Breakout and Candelabra, along with a Kickstarter campaign for a third such game. I have absolutely no information on any of these games, but I would think any SCP rpg would be sufficiently flexible for your idea, at least any good one. (No endorsement expressed or implied.)
search "Fear in the Foundation", it's a ttrpg of SCP in the process of being made
I think an SCP RPG Game would be absolutely awesome!
Honestly, you could run one yourself if you've got the inspiration and the players; you don't need someone to create a pre-packaged one. There are plenty of free systems available that have simple rules and allow you attach whatever story world you like to a basic game mechanic.
Fate's a pretty good versatile one. fate-srd.com/ The Condensed version is, as the name implies, a really short read that gives you al the basic ruleset, which you can use to run any kind of SCP game you like...
You could easily run a story like that in Hunter: the Vigil from Onyx Path Publishing.
Network Zero from the setting is essentially Parawatch, a decentralized Internet-based group of paranormal truth seekers. The other groups in the setting could also be tweaked to fit SCP GOIs pretty simply.
The Tom Hanks in the window at 20:35 actually spooked me when i looked back and saw it.
Oh God he's onto us
It's highly unsettling imo. almost felt like the scp was staring through the screen at me.
Stop being so scared. You would be hungry if you ran halfway across America too!
Sounds like somthing tim honks would say yeah im on to you
Anyone else now terrified to ever watch Forrest Gump ever again? I usually watch Exploring Series videos to fall asleep to, now I'm wide awake worrying about some non-existent entity.
It now feels like the characters look at the viewer - that creeped me
I think the story was trying to imply the D-class who was released was actually replaced by his twin. The one who said he had been in the dark for so very long.
Yo that is hella dark G
That's a good one

It's an entity that hollows people out and wears their skin

Life is like severe blunt force cranial trauma, you never know how hard you got hit.
Life *was* like severe blunt force cranial trauma.
Hey, cross-testing is illegal!
On that first one, the D-class that was released is pretty clearly the twin, and the viscera is the original D-class.
This is going to be gory, but here's my take on it:
The presence (his twin) starts by being far away, and slowly comes closer until he's clinging to him, as if he were absorbing him. In the womb, it's possible for one twin to "hog" nutrients from the other, with the malnourished one eventually being reabsorbed by the mother to help provide for the other. This is often described as one absorbing/eating/killing the other. This is essentially what the presence does to the D-class as it comes to grab on to him. Note that it almost grows on him, that it gets warmer, and that it seems to acquire more and more physical form.
He describes the presence as having a malformed face. The character he describes has large, rounded, bulbous shapes on his forehead, which is in line with some developmental stages of a fetus, when the fetus has a very large head to fit its brain.
His mention of the killed twin is the real rotting chicken and potatoes here. Note that it ends saying he feels "redeemed." This isn't our D-class speaking. It's the twin, saying he gets to redeem himself in the battle with the D-class, and that he's winning. Alternatively, perhaps it is our D-class speaking, realizing that he's giving this other, supposedly better person a lease on life.
Don't know what the tearing meat is and I don't want to.
The following mentions of licking and laughing suggests a dog? Particularly with the later mention of "Love you, buddy." I don't know how this fits in, particularly since we don't have an explanation for where the dog goes. Perhaps it lines up with the various places the D-class stayed, almost like the twin reclaiming his memories? Maybe the rotting chicken or some other meat was torn to feed the dog? I just hope that dog meat doesn't smell like rotting chicken.
Alternatively, there's no dog, and the tearing meat, laughing, and licking are something disturbing about the takeover of the D-class's body, and the "Love you, buddy" is instead a comment from one twin to another (although which is which I do not know).
In the interview, he's pretending to be the same person, but you can see he's clearly happy to be alive and human. He marvels at his hands, he's happy, and he's dismissive of the on-the-back presence. Notably, he seems to suspect it might be dead, which would be an odd thing for the original D-class to know, and especially odd to smile about. But if you assume this is the twin speaking about the D-class, saying he's dead, the smile becomes that of recognizing he got what he wanted, and some revenge, while also explaining why he's got the hunch it's dead.
The human viscera with D-class's genetic material is the presence that once was the malnourished twin (note that twins have identical genetics), except now the minds of the D-class and the twin have switched places. The D-class is stuck there, while the twin roams free.
You can also imagine parallels with it getting dark plus the smell of rotted (or rather, digested) and the interior of a womb.
The specific mentions of the childhood bedroom also seem thematically relevant, but I don't see a connection with mentioning the other places he has slept.
There are many more connections to make here, particularly with what happens to those that don't complete the game, but it's plenty disturbing already, so I'll leave that to you. Have fun! Thanks for reading my thoughts!
underrated comment
Wow. I really like this theory of yours. Frankly, this story frightened me a lot more than almost any SCP. Imagining the D class and the entity in the dark just sent chills down my spines. (And it escaping in the end really freaked me out.)
My take on it was that the bodysnatcher in the dark got hold of the D class's body without devouring it first, so when the D class starts speaking about the twin he 'killed' it was already the entity speaking, and so was everything after it. I can't really justify this theory it's just the way I perceived the story the moment I heard it.
Your breakdown of it was really insightful in my opinion, though.
that SCP kind of reminds me of SCP 3333 a firewatch tower that has repeating rooms above it that goes up many times and when the people get to the top an unknown entity removes all of their bones, organs and muscles and uses the persons skin to live outside the tower and try to get others to go into the tower.
Unfortunately, this doesn't explain why people who haven't absorbed a twin seem to be able to enter the anomaly, but it's a good theory nonetheless
That image of Tom hanks creeping through the widow is 100% nightmare fuel
That's what happened to Isaac Kappy...
Parawatch actually has a lot of promise unlike most of the other groups tend to be over the top this one is something that most people can put themselves in their shoes.

I can agree. That feeling you know there is something behind but you are to afraid to turn around to see what it is because you don’t know what will happen to you if you do is absolutely terrifying!
Modern SCPs are more like speculative fiction whereas SCPs like these are legit terrifying
I agree, they are much more grounded rather than outlandish. While the entities sounds like any other entities in the wiki, the way it's told and it's portrayed made it inconspicuous and we have no clue, sorta making it look like a mystery the Foundation stumbled upon.
@@enthiegavoir5955 it's so scary because stories like the Forrest Gump ones are stories where it's not run by or discovered by people that know enough about the supernatural to fight back or some badass characters. Or like they stumbled across the library learnt a lot from it and they still make conspiracy theories on parawatch despite knowing a lot about anomalies.

Well I think we may have found our fan Netflix series. "Parawatch", a pretty good name to guise it up from being a show about the SCP universe. All the actors would be one off characters somewhat since they would all most likely die or worse, and it could go down from the highest all the way down to 0001 possibly depending on which they choose or all of them as this one big episode.
It can’t be Netflix, maybe by Crypt TV though ?
@@thomasolympia3731 Ooo, yeah. If Crypt TV picks this up, they would for certain treat this good unlike Netflix. thanks for covering this! sometimes I do crave some of that early SCP feeling, and parawatch seems like the perfect fit for that, definitely going to check more stories out!
I set alarms between 2-4 in the hopes of seeing this channel upload a video. Got me hooked 🙏🏽
It's 3 am and I couldn't sleep. Thanks for this bedtime story.
Parawatch is like creepypasta but it knows how to be subtle. Something like Ted the Caver where you don’t get all the answers
I like this series
It's easily understandable (more needed for those new to the SCPF universe than to those more familiar) and gives a good explanation of the chosen topic
I gotta say, hearing about these SCPs genuinely gave me the creeps in a way that SCP stuff hasn’t done in a really long time. I like this parawatch shit
I think it’s because they’re more relatively “grounded” than the apparent deluge of cosmic horror going on with SCPs these days.
Like I get it, cosmic horror is cool and all but, it’s a bit much guys.
My fav channel to listen to before bed
Nice one Explore, really enjoyed listening to this one. Parawatch reminds me of all of the stories and books I have read in the past about individuals who have bitten off more than they can chew when investigating the paranormal and unexplained. Wonder when Netflix will pick this up as a TV series? Keep doing what your doing Explore and thanks.
The Forrest Gump anomaly is absolutely terrifying; I got chills just listening to the story progression. All that uncertainty of what exactly is anomalous about it and that feeling of imminent doom is nerve-wracking even at a 3rd person view. I can't imagine being in the deceased guy's shoes. Brrr!~
Oh my god yesss! Your content is truly unique and certainly amazing
Every time I hear the the word phenomena i think about the muppets song Mahna Mahna
Keep up the good work man! Love listening to your stuff each week
I think this may have just become my favourite SCP group, like you said it really does harken back to the old style of creepypasta / unexplained-unsettling kind of story’s. Ridiculous premis told with just enough detail to make you suspend disbelief if even for a moment
"I am stalking conspiracy theorists now Jenny"
This reminds me of “the lone gunmen” from the X-Files.
"Hello , I'm Tom Hanks
The SCP Foundation has lost its credibility, so they're borrowing some of mine!"
I love waiting a month or so after your uploads so i can binge them at work, tryimg to recapture that feeling of discovering a new channel again
just in time to wind down for the night. thanks man!
The Tom Hanks thing sounds legit.
Man I just want him to do a video about “Nobody” next.
He/she/it is probably one of the most interesting character/GOI in the scp verse.
Imagine having your sleep paralysis demon be Tom Hanks
I save every video you post for the end of the night when I crawl into bed
Ok
@@benarmstrong6904 meaning of the dozens of channels I am subscribed to I save this one for last because its the best.....Ok
Ah yes the most significant group of interest
Regular people
Wow, that was really cool. Unexplained stuff is honestly almost better than exactly explained. I always love hearing about different GOIs and stuff.
Given Parawatch's mission to find the truth, I'm pretty sure they would have good relations with the Serpent's Hand.
That is, if they manage to get in contact with them.
Is no one gonna talk about the fact that the last SCP was literally Sirenhead!?
Author here I'm glad you noticed!!
The first one is basically PT...
Will you be covering some of their storries?
The ticking sound of the music drove me crazy! I listened to this in the car and I tought i had the blinkers on all the time
Just saying, Sunday Dinner is hands down one of the best Tales I have ever read. I would love you to cover some of the stories told here since I think they are extremely well written
Wow for once the D-class actually survived..
Yeahhhh, no not really
Just in time for bed. Poggers
This reminds me of a Tumblr post that suggested that Bruce Wayne goes undercover on conspiracy forums to post wild explanations as to why Batman is Bruce Wayne, such as the butts matching, to discredit the idea. And it actually became canon that he does this.
Pretty sure this is my favorite scp video you've done. I can also relate to it.
I like the Joe Rogan Easter egg in the first background
Ah, 4chan.
My favorite interpretation of parawatch is that their leader is a reality warper who has abilities similar to the world over heaven from jjba, able to rewrite reality to whatever he wants,so in order to protect the members of parawatch,he alters reality whenever they're found out and resets it back to the point where they were seen as just a harmless group that goes hunting for cryptids, the foundation unable to ever truly find out the truth behind their operations...
My favourite GOI, I’m so excited! Thank you TES :D
SCP foundation: *Exists*
Parawatch: “aM i A jOkE tO YoU?!” 🗿
🥲
