      Have you done it with the earle motors swingarm extenders, or have you managed to fit the 18" rear without the extenders? I ever wondered if it would be possible to put a 140/80-18 or 150/70-18 in the rear without the extenders, because I really wouldn't want to extend the wheelbase.

    It's like a sappy love story.
    That bike just gets you.
    When you get anything mechanical that works like that for you, you keep it.
    Or you regret selling it for the rest of your life.
    Enjoy.

    Glad you decided to keep it! I bought my Sled for trails, but it's so sweet on the road that I want to ride it everyday. The ground clearance has the unexpected benefit of allowing you to lean over quite far despite the low footpegs. Super comfortable riding position, but it can still get busy in the twisties.

    The Desert Sled is something I’ve looked at buying off and on for a while now. I love how it looks. But I think ultimately I’m going to go with a 700cc dual sport from one of the KTM group brands. I don’t have to do the 21”/18” swap and I can do the valve adjustment on those. Still love the Ducati though. If only from afar.

      @@kcshankar5 I have been stuck many times in traffic with this bike. It's a little devil sometimes, I always feel like it's my normal bike which I can take it anywhere around the city, even to buy groceries. But when I find traffic or long signals, the bike reminds me that it's a big bike with hot little engine. If you plan to take it out regularly on weekdays, then don't go for this one. If you plan to go out mostly in weekends or long trips, then you can not get better bike than this. Even Desert X don't make sense for my 5.8 height. As when I am stuck real bad, I can manage to get this bike out.
      Long trips are amazing fun. And the feeling of riding it always when I see it, it's amazing. Because like I said it's a little devil because it will give you the feeling that you can just take it anywhere even in rush hours.But Rush Hours NO NO!

BUT i ride Daily through Traffic and Potholes (on my Duke 390 with supermoto/off road custom build) for pure Pleasure and Dopamine Kicks. I also tour on it extensively and that's where the single cylinder feels stressed. I happened to ride a DS recently and it felt like the perfect Do-it-All upgrade. Heat Management and Maintainance Costs were the only Red Flags.

    • @virgilwylie2186
      @virgilwylie2186 Рік тому

You already have 390 for local so go with something else for touring I would say. But if Offroad is where you wish to go for long drives then go with DS. Because it will crush the bad roads when you stand and give you confidence to even ride faster than Those tigers. Throttle response is perfect for that.
