Welcome to the Ducati family, Papa Yams!! The Scramblers are great “city” bikes for sure, and fun as hell, especially now that they have higher cc engines!!!
WARNING: the amount of Dainese gear in your home is about to increase SIGNIFICANTLY!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂👍🏾

I once had a nice $500 Dainese jacket with Ducati emblazoned on the front. It was really cool as long as you ignore all those really nice jackets from manufacturers with less cachet that cost around $300.

Looks like a bike you could love, lots of character, comfortable. Don't let anyone tell you it lacks power compared to a litre bike, it isn't a litre bike. Will be as much power as you need for the street. I run small, lightweight, low cc bikes as I like the challenge.

Very good choice. The scrambler led me to wanting to purchase my first motorcycle. I decided against the Ducati though because of insurance reasons. But I still got a naked bike. Buell XB9SX. Make sure to look around for good deals and all that. Naked bikes are awesome. Take a look at the GS500F without it's fairings. Cheap starter bike with the naked look as well.

Excellent choice, I know exactly what you are talking about. I was riding a Ducati Desert Sled loaner in April on Mallorca (Spain) and I had a blast. Even with the slightly knobbly tires, it felt planted on the street, but it was happy at the same times on sandy back roads with gravel. Also, the fueling of that motor, so good!

Came back to dealership later in the day with a smile shining out from the muddy face. Sold! "Y'all just have to detail it for me now! "Lmaooo! One of the best bikes I own. Man is this a sign? 😂 Crashed my scrambler yesterday. Lowsided and luckily I'm okay! Thank God for the design though. The wide handlebars kept the tank off the ground, the pillion pegs kept the rear up and the only damage was a bent gear lever, scuffed pegs and a snapped clutch lever. Hopefully it will be back on the road tomorrow!

An air cooled engine is very hot in the summer at stop lights. Change the oil more often since it does most of the cooling. They changed the clutch for 2019, because that was the big reliability problem for the previous model.

Shorties rejoice! I’m 5’6, 155lbs, inseam 29 inches on a good day. Just sat on a sled at the dealer. Can swing a leg over and with my right foot on the brake, left leg is down solid on the balls of my foot. If I scooch a butt cheek off the seat a little I’m flat foot, dirt bike style. With the sag set for my weight I reckon it’ll be a bit easier. Don’t be scared off if your a shorty like me!!

Don't tail tidy it! put a Ducati Scrambler "Classic" big rear fender on it, trust me, it looks awesome. It will look like how it supposed to be.
But you have to really enjoy the retro enduro look first.

What is considered a ‘fantastic deal’?! I’m going to be looking/shopping before year end and curious on the pricing between the Sled & Full Throttle.
Great overview and personal perspective 🤙🏽

As soon as you said it had "rider modes" meaning electronics and it being a Ducati makes me think the non rider mode Ducati Scrambler Icon is the better purchase.
