Wonderful comparison to tennis stroke! My golf swing has been restricted from a tennis-like release and finish. I’ve been concentrating on getting my hands and arms into “The Position” that I seem ti freeze there. It’s all one continuous motion with the hip turn guiding everything. Thanks

Many tennis players chose to hit it like a backhand.
I’m a former atp tennis player (right handed) but hit it lefty on the golf course.

Thanks for info Joran 👍🏻 out of interest, did you measure clubhead speed both ways? Does it just feel more stable going left handed?

Hi there. Do i use topspin forehand movement for wood and irons too? Love your analogy using tennis strokes . Please post more videos on tennis related swing for "cracking the whip" for major speed please. Thank you

Relevant with all. The body should be the engine, creating the rotation. This is a good feel for those players swinging out to in and slicing!

Recently I made one "Small" change. Rotate your head with your shoulders but keep your eyes on the ball. Your body will naturally move a bit back and then forward and so will your head, no worries.

I definitely hit down with driver and think I get ahead of it, then next one I hang back, can't find the happy medium

Thanks John. Do you think that move would help to stop pushing drives right which I do particularly under pressure. All the best , Brian Wood

A straight push is generally path into out and face open to target (matching path) so it would help close the face to path 👍🏼

10 years competitive tennis has given me a nasty duck hook with my right hand turning over super fast imitating a big topspin swing. I'm doomed.

Hit lots of fades / slices in practice. Also aim to get the body outracing the hands

Great vids but he's given what seems a bad tip. Watch the top players hitting in slow motion and you'll see them glaring at where the ball was after they hit it, before they lookup

Thanks. I’m not suggesting you have to look up before impact although this head rotation works for Dustin Johnson, Henrik Stenson and many others over the years.
Brooks Koepka is the one that noticeably keeps head still and focusing where the ball was until well after impact, but remember he is extremely strong and flexible. Most couldn’t get there body open into impact if they did that!

I thought so and I'm a hard core tennis player myself. No tennis player rotates their head spontaneously with the ball at impact. Same goes with soccer, baseball and the list goes on.
