  • I have seen many roofers in the LA area , that apply the torch down over the bare plywood or wood, technically that is wrong, but again , nothing can stop you from doing it, this video is dedicated to every homeowner or contractor, Please help me to stop those hack roofers that do that.
    Thank you.
    Eric.

    Thats not called a base flashing thats sanded paper. You should only use that as a fire profing. Not as a base .you still need your base rubber under your cap sheet . Your roof should be water tite before cap you still need alot of learning.

      Exactly, roof should be one percent sealed before u even touch the cap, u should always look at the capsheet as its only there for looks and not to save the roof.

      It's called base flashing when u overlap the base paper like he did. Ur a fucking idiot and know Jack shit about roofing.

    How should wood cant strips be attached? To the decking, the parapet wall or both using what fasteners? Thanks!

      Have you seen the outlet?what sort of finish is that!! There seams to be mastic all over the upstands what's that in aid of? If you want to see how it's done look up bauder videos you might learn something.wheres your fire extinguisher?oh yes it's just out of shot of video!!!.what would happen if you had fire? Run down ladder and get a bottle of bud throw that on it? or drink it if house is fully engulfed in flames i have watched a few of your videos not once have i seen any form of fire extinguisher when I show the lads I work with we piss oursides. Not only at the mess of the roofs but some comments saying"nice job" unbelievable honest unbelievable.

    There are too many things wrong with this for me to even start, if you came on my roof and did this crap I would send you packing before you burned down your first roll !

      1badmuthafutha - this guy wouldn’t know professional techniques if it came up and bit him on the nose!! He just makes up his rules as he goes. The overflow scupper has a NRCA criteria, not just what he makes up on his video!
      Wall flashing also has a spec which he does not follow! He doesn’t know any better but talks like he does! Which just pisses off the REAL journeyman that learned their trade correctly and applies those proper techniques everyday!

    A lot of ppl with different opinions, fact is in different parts of the world standard change. Maybe in California this is allowed and used cause they don’t have to worry about sitting snow and build. But where Soprema is a used mod bit system (torched on roofs) you could nail and sanded back base with a poly on top keeping nails 12” apart on the rolls and every 6” on the bottom lap. The overlapping base would be torched at the seam.. Buen trabajo brother pero aquí en Canadá no se pudiera hacerlo así!

    All wrong, nothing even close to ARCA standards for the cap. For what i glances at, base looks good

  • @chucktaylorking7054
    @chucktaylorking7054 7 років тому +2

    you are not supported to torch onto that crappie base sheet. It has a sanded surface. . you need to use the torch applied base. for those who don't know its the same material as the cap sheet but it is smooth, then you can torch the cap sheet on the smooth base. remember to stager the seams

    • @Garciasroofing
      @Garciasroofing  7 років тому +2

      seriously ...you are not a roofer, or maybe you are a roofer but ...one of those roofers that you can count by 1000's , you talk like if you really know about this trade .
      I strongly suggest you to learn how to be a roofer , practice and most important ...
      read books ....READ , READ & READ .
      so far your comments makes no sense .
      I will call it a NONSENSE.
      good luck roofer apprentice.

      I have been in the roofing business for 29 years. I use soprema systems and I am certified by the manufacturer. first off you are supposed to screw down protection board, torch on base sheet then torch down cap sheet. that my friend is the right way

    • @Garciasroofing
      @Garciasroofing  7 років тому +1

      Chuck Taylor King ...Again , this product IS NOT Soprema , soprema makes this refective materials and cap sheet and has it's own system , if you were a roofer , you have to understand that any build up roof can be installed over plain wood and concrete without the need of insulation board, when you install cap sheet over base sheet it's called : 2 ply torch down , if you add smooth it's called 3 ply system and so on .
      so far you say you are a roofer , but don't know the basics, I suggest you to go back and learn the basics , that usually happens when you don't have school .
      good luck in your journey .

    • @chucktaylorking7054
      @chucktaylorking7054 7 років тому +1

      Roofing Solutions By Eric Garcia the problem is that you are to cheap to get the right materials, and soprema manufacturs many types of cap sheet. go on the Internet and have a look. do you know what protectaboad is its a4'×5' 1/8" thick semi rigid board that can be mechanically fastened, then you torch down 180 s.b.s. base then you torch on top of the base with a 250 s.b.s. cap, make sure that you stager the seams. I am just telling you the best system to use. just look it up
