He has said many things that doesn't instill confidence that he is saved. I don't remember the exact wordings but it's along the typical lines many say. "I think there's probably something out there but we can't know what it is." And if they go from that to believing in a god it's a false one that they can understand and agree with. Believing in a anonymous god doesn't get you saved. Hoping there is a god doesn't either.
yeah, I was amazed by him. In that show, young actors are dying putting their all into scene - and they're really good. But then camera switches to Anthony and it seems like he's really living in it. I guess that kind of experience comes with years. all tough I haven't seen movies where he's young
"An old friend once told me something that gave me great comfort, something he'd read. He said that Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin never died, they simply became music." Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Robert Ford
"They are not long, the days of wine and roses: Out of a misty dream Our path emerges for a while, then closes Within a dream." -Ernest Dowson(1867-1900)
I met Anthony Hopkins forty years ago and I asked him if he would help some of my patients who suffered from addiction and or depression. I was amazed that he agreed and helped people to quit, gave money and more importantly his time. A truly great man.
He still gets scripts at 79 because he's one of the greatest actors that ever lived. Every scene he is in, the eyes are riveted on him...every gesture, every pause...a master acting class.
Why wouldn't we want old actors. Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren, Max von Sydow, Michael Caine, Diana Rigg, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Smith. The list goes on, old actors are amazing.
Merrill Streep; Dame Judi Dench; Frances MacDiarmid; Juliet Binoche; Vanessa Redgrave; Jane Fonda; Ed Harris; and so on . . . Amazing is right. It takes a lot of inner resilience to survive a life of such constant insecurity and vulnerability. Not everyone does survive it for long, but those who do are usually pretty damned admirable, IMO.
Tony is an incredibly good man, I help people with alcohol and drug problems. I met him and asked if he would visit a couple of actors who were in trouble. He did and with his generosity ensured they were financially secure and also found them jobs. A remarkable man.
One of the greatest actors of our time. I didnt really know much about him besides Hannibal but his Westworld performance alone has made me love him forever
He does free speeches at local schools and colleges where he grew up for drama and media students. Hes such a humble, quietly spoken man it comes as a bit of a shock at first after some of the roles hes played.
@@SleepySeel I think he found a natural outlet for any negative potential that he carried (we all carry some) in those rôles. That sort of thing can be cathartic for the actor as well as for the audience.
in a way anthony hopkins will be imortal because his movies and performances are so amazing people will be still watching them hundreds of years from now
I don't know what it is about his voice in certain circumstances but when he does Hannibal and now In the clips i seen of Westworld his voice absolutely makes me melt.. like shivers up my back and knees weak.. I don't know that will ever change.
He's lucky that for his iconic portrayal in almost every film has rendered him safety from being cast as a grand-father or father-in-law in films but rather an experienced innovator, scientist, philosopher, etc.
I love his perspective on death. I wish that one day I can be as free as Anthony hopkins is in his acceptance of death. It freightens me very much so to think about, but I think, I hope, one day I can be at peace with knowing it comes. To not fear death at all is a liberation.
He knows that THERE IS a universal intelligence and he knows that "God" is not the one of religions created to rule over humans, Anthony (who is also a psychic) has participated in experiments done by the Mobius Group, headed by researcher Stephan Schwartz, as part of a U.S. government project aimed at investigating psychic phenomena, the Star Gate project, funded by the Department of Defense, NASA and the CIA. It's not a secret, it was a secret many years ago but then the documents werw declassified. He is very smart and humble not to talk about the Experiment, he knows that not everyone would be ready to understand
Many of us has been inspired by anthony hopkins, in that sense we feel as he is a father figure to us. A great movie with him is The World's Fastest Indian.
"For me to be around today is astonishing". Well... in fact it is, which just mean Mr. Hopkins IS an astonishing actor. Despite how familiar I am with his performances, my jaw dropped over and over again when watching Westworld. I so wish he was coming back for the second season, but somehow I doubt it, and perhaps, for the sake of plot coherence, it's for the best. No ex-machinas for such a great series, please!
Anthony Hopkins didn't play as Robert Ford. He played as Anthony Hopkins, because I literally can't tell a difference in personality between the two at all.
The difference are just 3 essential characteristics. Ford is a nihilist, has a horrendous view of humanity, Anthony lacks both of those qualities. Ford has a god complex (semi-justified one tho), Anthony is extremely humble. Ford is a pessimist, Anthony is extremely optimistic.
1:36 Larry King: “I just can’t believe that I’m not going to exist.” Well, nobody believed it then either, Mr. King. You were a part of my earliest childhood memories, your show Larry King Live was a frequent guest at the television in our house. And as you kept going, we got to the point where we expected you to live to be as old as Methuselah, 969 years. But, it’s 2021 now and you are no longer with us. I am sad that one more celebrity from my childhood is gone, but I am also happy that he had the opportunity to talk with Anthony Hopkins and hopefully this chat between them helped to reinforce Larry for the final chapter of his life. You did an interesting, informative, and even entertaining shows. We already miss you.
I loved Anthony Hopkins. And then he had an interview where he said he didn’t care if he was a grandpa, or that his daughter had a baby ☹️ and that broke my heart 🥺
I'm sad that the reality is I probably won't ever meet this man in person, as a aspiring actor, this man is an inspiration and is, both now and after death, one of the greatest actors the industry has ever known.
You know, after checking that audio book out,i sat there in my chair, adhering to almost every word.i leaned back and took a little nap,and other music began to play i so fell asleep
God bless Anthony Hopkins. I hope he lives to be 120.
then he can die ?
+BaBaK PaSha
when Westworld is ashes
Well. He obviously isn't saved, going by what he said here. So God hasn't blessed him. But I really hope it happens.
For you to assume to know such a thing is hybris. But you shall be forgiven.
He has said many things that doesn't instill confidence that he is saved. I don't remember the exact wordings but it's along the typical lines many say. Believing in a anonymous god doesn't get you saved. Hoping there is a god doesn't either.
Damn the way he just pulls out quotes and stuff, he's basically just a cheerier version of his character in Westworld haha
it's his host.
You should see his inside the actors studio interview. Reciting whole poems. It's crazy.
He apparently tries to learn a poem every day as a mental exercise.
Now, THAT is a good idea. I'm almost 78 myself, and I only know a dozen poems by heart -- all that wasted time (much of it on the internet, ahem)!
@@ichabod1370 you kinda realised something from the 'internet'. I don't call that time wasted. Do you?
he is extremely healthy at 79
hardly an achievement when you turned yourself into a host...
that's just a wild theory
the silence breaker it's confirmed
@Daniel Falk If I recall correctly, he's a self-described recovered alcoholic, so it's fruit juice.
The day Anthony Hopkins passes away is going to be a very very sad day.
He'll just become music
A very sad day indeed. We'll have lost one of the last truly great actors.
Yes!!! :'(
And don't forget Sir Ian Mckellen too.
This is one amazing wonderful man.💞
What energy this man has for his age such life
i bet he ate the host after the interview... with some fava beans and a nice chianti
Ugh.
He's absolutely incredible in Westworld, so good seeing he hasn't lost it one bit. And what a humble man he is.
yeah, I was amazed by him. In that show, young actors are dying putting their all into scene - and they're really good. But then camera switches to Anthony and it seems like he's really living in it. I guess that kind of experience comes with years. all tough I haven't seen movies where he's young
You really should. Watch something like The Lion in Winter or The Elephant Man.
Yeah to me, during the first few episodes Anthony was the only one I was sure was human.
h’s good in everything he does.
"An old friend once told me something that gave me great comfort, something he'd read. He said that Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin never died, they simply became music." Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Robert Ford
Will Sartin Best line ever
It's a very good one and one that will resonate with Hopkins' work long after he has passed.
Blabla
He too will become a music....
And yet its nonsense! Read the Gospel of John and listen to your maker! Jesus loves you and wants to save you!
"They are not long, the days of wine and roses:
Out of a misty dream
Our path emerges for a while, then closes
Within a dream."
-Ernest Dowson(1867-1900)
three years might be a bit late, but thanks for leaving it here
Beautiful poem, and the one about Cynara. There's a suggestion he liked children in an inappropriate way - although I prefer to hope that wasn't true.
Westworld was one of the best shows ever and Anthony Hopkins was the glue that held it together.
hopefully he gets an emmy for it
Was*. it still is.
what do you mean was?
Best "shows"? I prefer the original, and I doubt very much that you've seen even a fraction of the best films made.
I met Anthony Hopkins forty years ago and I asked him if he would help some of my patients who suffered from addiction and or depression. I was amazed that he agreed and helped people to quit, gave money and more importantly his time. A truly great man.
I’m delighted, and not surprised, to read this. He knows the importance of presence. And life is better🚫🍸 Thank you for sharing✨🌎
I adore Anthony Hopkins. He is so talented he leaves me in awe. Seriously.
He's got an extremely positive outlook on life more so than a lot of younger people today unfortunately
I don't really know why but for some reason this is the only actor i feel the urge to shake hands with.
Silver T what if he eats your arm?
just dont try to adminster a census test to him and you should be okay
be honest, you want to toss him off
He still gets scripts at 79 because he's one of the greatest actors that ever lived. Every scene he is in, the eyes are riveted on him...every gesture, every pause...a master acting class.
He seems to be such a nice, smart and humble man. I respect him so much. Love him in Westworld.
Man does not look near 79 and personally i could listen to him all day. Insightful intelligent A+ actor.
Why wouldn't we want old actors. Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren, Max von Sydow, Michael Caine, Diana Rigg, Morgan Freeman, Maggie Smith. The list goes on, old actors are amazing.
Add Ian McShane to that list. :)
Mark Arandjus of course they have all the experince
And the Late Christopher Lee :(
BlackSpiderPro What a man

This man is a treasure. He knows the power of belief and Gratitude.

Vivien -- thanks, that's very good to know.
Some of us know how to pay it forward, and do it with grace and kindness. (Me, just still trying . . . and I'm older than he is!)
Wow!
A tremendously talented actor, totally humble and a gentleman of the highest order. Love the guy
The time I'm seeing this video.....Larry King is no more....Anthony Hopkins live long....the best actor ive ever seen in my life...
I don’t think about death, when it’s come, it’s come , I don’t see death, I am speaking for my self.
That was deep
Of course they still want you Hopkins. You are a legend in acting.

holy shit this guy is so fucking cool
This man is a total legend. I love him! So good in West World too!
in a way anthony hopkins will be imortal because his movies and performances are so amazing people will be still watching them hundreds of years from now
he's so charasmatic and draws you in with wit and intelligence but is completely humble with it one of my favourite actors of all time.
My favourite actor, what range and depth he possesses!
Well, he shouldn't retire, he is a legendary actor, he is energetic and people love him.
One of the best ever. Smile while hes still around. Amazing skills.

Arguably the best actor of all time!
Anthony Hopkins is a LEGEND ❤️
Worthy of note how at 1:20 Hopkins can't help but quote poetry to best express his feelings on the matter of death.
Larry king I cant believe I wont exist, You better believe it Brother!
He's such an amazing guy! Doesn't get enough credit for what an amazing actor he is. The best!
I love this man.
Could listen to him for hours
That was a very deep talk... RIP, Larry King.
Tony me old chum, you've been blessed with a wonderful career and have given so much joy to so many. Your work has made you Immortal.
wow Hopkins in real life is even cooler than when in character
Great man
The one, the only, Anthony Hopkins :)
And he won an another academy award a few years after this interview
That man is an INCREDIBLE actor.
The day we lose Anthony Hopkins is going to be a sad, sad, SAD day
You might not live to see that day. Ever think of that?
Such a wonderful man. Superb actor. Seems like such a sweet soul. I love him. ♥️♥️♥️
Just want to say RIP Larry King. Love ya dawg.

Sir Hopkins, we all benefit in all of his life!
Mr. King was a great man and the news of his death is sad.
1:38 That says everything you ever needed to know about Larry King. He can't believe he's not going to exist. :) LOL!
You are ❤️❤️wonderful
Greatest of the greats. No doubt
Not afraid of death, but afraid what my lead to it. Hope I can face that like a man.
Anthony Hopkins didn't play as Robert Ford. He played as Anthony Hopkins, because I literally can't tell a difference in personality between the two at all.

He quotes stuff from fiction in real life too haha
After watching him in West-world, every word that comes out of his mouth sounds so mysterious!
he is the best in the business!!!! love him
All is possible and it s the life is strong but God is here for us and gave all talents dear Sir AnthonyHopkins ❤❤❤❤❤

I would pay thousands just to sit down and talk with this man, one of the best actors to ever live.
So his fav quote is: "There are not long the days of wine and roses/that of a misty dream/a path emerges for a while and closes/ within a dream", cool
a true man of character
Love Anthony Hopkins as an actor and a person!

Sir Anthony you are a living legend.
He is amazing....
❤ Anthony Hopkins ❤
I could listen to Anthony Hopkins say the word "dream" for hours
this is what class looks like
1:37 Now he knows how it feels. RIP
I just can't imagine season 2 without Anthony Hopkins...
TheReal Jack well what’s great is that his presence and actions looms over the new season so it’s like he never left

1:37 Best bit of the clip starts where Larry says, "I just can't believe I'm not going to exist".
Looks twenty years younger than he actually is.
Who else has been binge watching Larry King talking about death?
What a great man, actor and artist ! Long live Hopkins
He's never gonna die. He only will become in art.
LEGEND!
i can see Anthony Hopkins living until he's 100. He has so much life in him still.
