So for the credits, they did not list the VAs with the characters due to union issues with NIS America, as is the case with all English releases of DR games. In the Japanese version, they always list the VAs. The fans have to figure out who voices who until the English VAs are allowed to say so on their own.
All the words/actions mentioned in this thread in functional sentences from someone who hasn't played the games: "IN THIS CASE, WE HAVE TO REJECT THE KILLING GAME! WE HAVE TO REJECT DESPAIR! It’s a great moment for him. Shuichi’s pain started when he lost Kaede, someone who wholeheartedly believed in him. He doesn’t want anyone else to feel that kind of pain, and the moment he makes that declaration, it’s to the tune of Kaede’s music, the person who gave him the motivation to step up in the first place.
I just realized... Angie (or Atua) was ALWAYS right! - Don't try to escape (would have gotten boring and maybe cancelled) - Destroying the Flashlights (Fake Memories - forbidding people from going out during nightime (most murders happened or were prepared during nighttime) Angie was a genius who got fed real information but they masquerade it as Atua, a god that no one believed in and that would make her look untrustworthy and a threat. Listening to her was the right call but the religion and cult aspect made it seem like the wrong thing
@@thomasedison5453 exactly xD "But you doubt Atua... But Atua forgives you IF you apologize to him. If you don't, you and your descendants will be cursed! So you better apologize, okay :)
"The impossible is possible! All you gotta do is make it so!" And that's Tsumugi's greatest mistake, as well as Team Danganronpa's greatest mistake. They saw their participants as only fictional characters, but Suichi saying Kaito's line shows that they really were able to learn from each other. They were able to learn and be inspired like *real people*. And in a sense, it shows how that Team Danganronpa had forgotten the original message of the first two Danganronpa games. To fight for REAL hope and go into a world even though it's poisoned. To MAKE real hope, to CREATE your own ending when the world isn't giving you good options. Tsumugi was wearing all the character's faces, but she really wasn't the Ultimate Cosplayer after all. She could never perfectly reproduce their feelings. She could only cosplay like a selfish fan who doesn't learn from the story they like.
Unless that's what she wanted everyone to think. She was intelligent enough to be the mastermind of the entire killing game. Do you think she'd shoot herself in the foot like that?
For the other two games, they were dark, but in my mind they were more sad than scary. They all had epic plot twists that were shocking but weren’t scary but this? *THIS?* This is so freaking horrifying, I swear this game is psychological horror. The idea that your entire life was a lie, that you willingly participated in a killing game, that you were obsessed with it, and that the whole *WORLD* is enjoying your suffering?! That terrified me. I’ve never seen anything like it. I haven’t completed the trial yet (I’m at the “Bad End” part) but my lord… heaven have mercy..
Yeah this ending is terrifying, aside from their entire personality just being a character written for the story, the fact that they were all so obsessed to the point they auditioned knowing very well they would probably die is fucked up. Basically means they themselves are the reason they died.
I know right? It's such an engaging concept. And the worst part is that with all this tech, I'm sure they could have pulled of a version of the killing game where they fool the participants into thinking people died, when everyone is actually fine. But no, this is Season 53, and the audience wants real death, real blood. Thrills, chills, kills.
Ah of course, the 16th student that laid hidden somewhere within the school, the one they called super highschool level soldier. Too bad she's barbecue
Number 15 Mukuro Ikusaba The last thing you'd want in your killing school life is the Ultimate Despair, but as it turns out, that might be what you gæt
It was in the 52nd Danganronpa. Then that’s the game you want...... so just wait a couple hundred years and then you can find out about Rantaro’s first killing game.
2:06:09 So Yasuhiro died in the demo, got framed in the third chapter in Trigger Happy Havoc, was going to be killed, and now this. I think Yasuhiro is just Danganronpa's punch bag
This is a username Also, in Future Arc during a recap done by Monokuma, it showed Hiro trying to get into the Future Foundation building with a caption (along the lines of) “Please note that Hagakure can’t get in because nobody likes him.” Dang. 😂😅
Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc- Reject Despair and go toward Hope. Super Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair- Reject Hope and go toward your own chosen future New Danganronpa 3 Kiling Harmony- Reject the future you know, reject hope, reject despair and go forward for yourself.
All three messages still contain an overall projection of 'continue to live under your own foundation, in hope or despair'. The entire foundation may seem shaky, but this game was created and is set in the 21st century, so that's only an invevitable factoid.
Danganronpa 4 ?????? ????? - Reject Everything And Help People Danganronpa 5 ??????????? - Reject People And Go Backwards Danganronpa 6 ????????? - Reject E V E R Y T H I N G IN T H E WORLD

It would be interesting to see ryoma get to this point and realize that his suffering was just some backstory someone wrote, how they used him as a stepping stone for the killing game. The same for kirumi, these people turned kirumi into a killer with the kubs pad flashback light effect.
Could you imagine if Tsumugi started cosplaying as characters who had died in this Killing Game at the end, imagine the torture she could have put them through if she had. Now that would have been something..
The thing is, the original applicants were blood thirsty loons. You can despair over finding out the truth. But what of the people they became? Gonta was a kind soul who killed to try save the others, Kaeda pushed the others to be strong, Koichi tried to end it for their sake and went as far as forcing himself to pretend he enjoyed it all even when he was suffering. The people they were were psychos who loved despair and wanted to hurt others for the sake of a game. But a lot of the others (maybe not all) were better people due to the lie. Even if it was a lie, even if it wasn't them, some of them were still good people. Better a beautiful lie than a horrible truth, no?
I think that while the audition tapes we see were actually Tsumugi cosplaying, she was probably basing their personalities in the tapes off their true selves. Like how the *actual* pre-game Kaede said how rotten the world is for letting her get abducted, she atleast didn't seem like a lunatic there. The same probably goes for Kaito and Shuichi too.
@@Da1337Man I could see that. Tsumugi is very cynical, and while she says a lot about the real world and the real audience, the actual ending of the game is supposed to show that she was at least somewhat wrong. People actually choose to end the game because it was cruel.
The characters were literally brainwashed into those positive personality traits. Which is... erm, a awkward thing to think about. It gives off Clockwork Orange vibes. You could imagine that same method being used to "cure" criminals in this futuristic society. That's convenient for everyone around the person being "corrected", but what of the soul and mind of the person who got rewritten? And how much claim does the artificially implanted new personality have to being "real"? Does the fact that the people being rewritten consent to it matter at all? Tsumugi calls the cast of V3 just "characters", and that doesn't sound like a bad way to describe their situation. But yeah, it's a tricky situation.
@@Yodah97 I get where you're coming from. Honestly, though, if someone believes a lie enough it becomes truth. It wasn't until it was reveal that they doubted who they were. Once they know of who they are, it's really up to the person: do they carry on with their new skilled personality and try better themselves, or do they go back to who they were out of anger and return to the bloodlust that got them in the situation they were? I feel it's likely the former given the trauma they endured as that persona would surely have lasting effect. As for if it's a good thing they were brainwashed, I'm a "do evil for good" kinda bloke, so I might not be the best to talk the morality with. :P
Himiko: “We’re all real people who live and breathe!!” **camera slowly pans over to K1-B0** _(Edit since people are confused: it didn't actually do that, I just said this because I noticed and thought it was funny, sorry lmao-)_
I know people hated this ending, but "how do you deal with being lied to by people you trusted" is the theme of the entire series so this was really how it had to go.
Idk if it's their last game or not. If I'm not wrong, Kodaka say that maybe he will return to the series after he finishes his new projects and collaborations. (Idk if it's what Kodaka actually said and Idk if he's going to return to the danganronpa franchise) If danganronpa doesn't return at least there's the fanbase who makes Fanganronpas (Danganronpa fan games) For example there's A fan youtube series Called 'Danganronpa Kill/Cure' By Moboxer on youtube!
I am pretty sure that Kokichi knew that they were in danganronpa from the start I mean this little liar knew it And play along to the Mastermind so He can Actualy save everyone from shadows. But kaito ruined it
@@yeyeye802 He mentions viewers multiple times. He deduced that someone was watching because of the strict enforcement of the rules. That was quite literally the point of Chapter 5
I don't think it's a coincidence that Team DR gave him such a strong disinterest in "boring" people when Tsumugi's persona was the most boring person in the game.
"Danganronpa 25 was the best!" "Sakura is my muscle waifu!" "This is why I wish Kaede had survived!" Okay, as many mixed feelings as I have about the ending, those comments in-game made it all worth it to me.
"I want to break Shuichi's fingers ♥" "Just as keikaku" EDIT: I love the ending, but honestly the in-game comments should have their own section so I can read them all again and again until I die
I just noticed, when we play the trial the outlines of the characters change Kaede was pink Shuichi was blue Kibo was white Himiko was turquoise Maki was red I love that little feature 😖
@@erixishot the hud is the place where the name and picture of the person is displayed. It's the shard like display that appears during the class trial.
No, you see, Deadpool keeps it nice and simple when it comes to fourth wall breaks. But after the reveal in this trial how it's all fictional my mind just kept on collapsing further in on itself nearly every time Tsumugi talked about the audience. Is she simply talking about the audience *inside* the danganronpa world or was it the actual creators of the real danganronpa franchise being cheeky with *us* , the real audience? I think if someone ever showed this to Trump he'd wail like a toddler.
Apparently that was unintentional, as said by the creator. He wanted to make it a reality show with a fandom to try and replicate the real fandom with key differences, but it turned out he made them too similar
birbelle well, at the end it shown the people that stayed with the survivors to the end, controlled kiibo and blown up the mastermind and monokuma, to... END DANGANRONPA!
I just realized something, Shirogane is between Amami and Shinguji. Those two were the ones who were able to witness things Shirogane has done, however their interpretations were different. Amami saw Tsumugi with his own eyes, hitting him with the shot put ball. While Shinguji saw Shirogane entering the bathroom in Chapter 1, without knowing she entered the bathroom for wicked purposes. In this trial, the both of them are dead - as their dead potraits were the only things left standing.
Something interesting... Tsumugi can copy people's 'appearances' perfectly. Ultimate Imposter can copy people's 'appearances' not-as-perfectly. You'd think that Tsumugi would be a better imposter. However, it seems Ultimate Imposter can copy people's 'talents' perfectly. While Tsumugi can't copy people's 'talents' at all. So, who's better?
....Do you guys realize that the ending wasn't aimed at us right? Kodaka said it himself during an interview. He merely wanted to show what a world would become if it obsessed over the killing games. And for anyone saying that this is the end to Danganronpa. It could be, but Kodaka has said it himself that he merely wants to take a break from the series for a year or two, not end it all. He said that he will end Danganronpa when he's out of ideas and well... if you've seen the epilogue and how it ended... yeah he still has a lot more ideas.
It's as much a jab at Spike-Chunsoft turning Danganronpa into a franchise as it is a jab at the fans that gave it the popularity to make that happen. He may not have intended to attack the audience, but you can't avoid making them complicit in that.
Icarus975 Read the interviews, Kodaka himself mentions that because V3 is about truth and lies he points out to the interviewer that he himself might lie too in regards to the game telling him "who knows if Im telling the truth".
Hmmm more like ....... I Reject Hope - Suichi Makoto,Nagito,& Komaru : 😧😨 Junko : 😏 & Despair - Suichi again Also Junko : 😧🤬 Also Makoto,Nagito,& Mukuro : 😏
I extremely love the fact that there is 53 seasons. All those seasons could be the many fan made killing games. So many unknown characters. All the seasons could be full of all the fan characters and OCs that we have all made. We could probably consider the fan games like Danganronpa Rebirth, Danganronpa Kill/Cure, Super Danganronpa Another 2, and many others as canon since they could be the seasons between 1, 2 and v3! *(7/12/20) EDIT:* Indeed there is a flaw or two in the "fan games could be canon!" thing I said. Jorx 390 pointed how Monokuma said V3 is his 53rd game (and, of course, it's the 53rd season of Danganronpa) so yeah the possibilities of the fan games being canon is... Actually impossible because they are fan games. *buuuut* people could possibly make fan games that center around the games in between the games we know ;) Although I assume people definently won't make fan-inbetween games.
What this trial taught me... These characters are fictional. But they're here, and they exist. Our feelings towards them are real, our sadness, pity, happiness, excitement. It's all real. Therefore, no one can tell us they're fake. Because *they're here, and they're real* .
I think they would have been more like 855/860 (totally not accurate)... I think the first seasons were fictional, but there are, I guess, also seasons were they lose and all die...versions for example where the masterminds win in the end, or where the blackened wins the trial (does the mastermind also get executated, cause rules stayed that ONLY the blackened survives...?) it’s only a guess/a theory though...🤷🏾♂️
Lowly Worm me too. I HOPED that they too, were in the new world program. Because of being in a world of fiction and all, i thought maybe, they were in the NWP. But sadly NOOOOO, Danganronpa wanted us to suffer
regarding how keebo work,s the majority was convinced by shuichi not to vote, so there are most likely some people who voted hope/despair. I guess you were a part of that majority :>
I have mixed feelings about it. I liked how clever it was and the message it conveyed, but it was still disappointing on another level... which was the point, but still.... It gives you that feeling like your whole perspective is flipped upside-down, and not in a good way imo. Overall I think I liked it more than I disliked it though.
Yeah I'm so mixed on the ending. I love some aspects of it, but dislike others. It doesn't ruin the game, but it doesn't make the game like DR2's ending did. It was just a mindf*ck from beginning to end.
Well a danganronpa game would be boring if everyone was happy so if the fandom is seriously wanting a game then they would want both hope and despair, despair always follows with hope
well technically, kaede wanted to expose the mastermind during the first class trial, since this is a re-trial, and they exposed tsumugi, kaede got what she wanted
though shuichi may claim that her death was in vain he immediately goes back on that word when he calls out the whole rule-breaking factor and how it revealed the mastermind was sketchy and willing to do anything to keep the game alive
If the game was focused on Hope and Despair... then Kaede would've lived. But that's not this game. Wishing for Kaede to live instead of Shuichi is no different to reaching for the comfortable past. Where Hope defeats Despair.
No she fell into despair because always knowing what the future was drove her to hate everything and despair is chaotic enough to be more unpredictable.
@_ xxIzella _ Ima now be Makoto "No that's wrong!" Like Monika, Junko isn't a yandere. Monika just wanted MC but Junko wanted to take over the world with despair.
That... was pretty meta and understanding. The main reason i liked Danganronpa was because of how they used the battle royal formula to add meaning and depth without it just being a meaningless death game. I guess deep down... Danganronpa was suppose to show how cruel the whole genre is. How mentally taxing it must be to be apart of it... or creating it.
It also shows the positive effect it has on people. It's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but after Kokichi revealed the outside world, Schuichi was considering ending his life. It was the flashback light with the plot of the first 2 games that gave him hope and the will to continue. Now, V3 is a reality where this went too far by using real deaths for entertainment. But as long as it's just fiction... I don't know. I think the game is trying to justify the existence of the genre itself. It's far too easy to just write off all of Danganronpa as just edgy misery porn, but that's not how the creators see it, and not how they write it. It seems to me that v3 shows both the positive effect that these types of stories can have and the dangers of going too far down the road of having fun of other people's misery.
Kumafarre is a reference to the live/club house in Japan named "Nicofarre", owned by the Japanese streaming site Nico Nico Douga. The environment of the final trial also gives a nod to the interior design of Nicofarre as a whole, which has streaming text margins all across the walls of the live room, similar to the myriad of texts that occasionally appears behind the characters' sprite when they were talking!
2:24:20 So they censored Shuichi's name? But before they Lighted him in the prologue, he introduces himself to Kaede as Shuichi Saihara. Also, if Rantaro survived the 52nd game or a previous one, wouldn't the people in the prologue recognize him?
I like how the "outside world" doesnt want danganronpa to end and enjoys the killing game but the player actually just wants to end it like the characters
The Simpsons fell hard LONG before Season 30, and Seth MacFarlane wanted Family Guy to end over a decade ago. Who would want a TV series to last for FIFTY-THREE Seasons?
I started to get really sad when Clair De Lune started playing, when everyone went into despair, and the fact that once Shuichi says that he can’t fight for a lie he starts to give up and it zooms in on Kaedes portrait.
@@etam8099 Like, from an in-universe perspective, the writers wanted Kokichi to live because of the truth v lies dynamic, but when he went though with chapter 5, they kinda couldn’t do anything.

Angie (or Atua) was ALWAYS right!
- Don't try to escape (would have gotten boring and maybe cancelled)
- Destroying the Flashlights (Fake Memories
- forbidding people from going out during nightime (most murders happened or were prepared during nighttime)
Angie was a genius who got fed real information but they masquerade it as Atua, a god that no one believed in and that would make her look untrustworthy and a threat.
Listening to her was the right call but the religion and cult aspect made it seem like the wrong thing
If Angie survived, was in the 6th trial and didn't got killed by Kiyo (Sorry for the spoilers), she would be like: "See? I told you Atua was right!"

In the first trial Angie gets a divine message from Atua that Rantaro's killer was the mastermind and was hiding behind the bookcase.
"The impossible is possible! All you gotta do is make it so!"
And that's Tsumugi's greatest mistake, as well as Team Danganronpa's greatest mistake.
@Wowie Zowie we're connected through the stars!
That’s why Shuichi rejected Keebo “hope” because it was fake Hope and that’s why I like him and think he is the best protagonist in the series.
I'll drink to that, Hallelujah!
Unless that's what she wanted everyone to think. She was intelligent enough to be the mastermind of the entire killing game. Do you think she'd shoot herself in the foot like that?
Bruh

@YeetsInYandere THAT WOULD BE EPIC
That's why there's a song named after it
I think that while the audition tapes we see were actually Tsumugi cosplaying, she was probably basing their personalities in the tapes off their true selves.

All those seasons could be the many fan made killing games. So many unknown characters. All the seasons could be full of all the fan characters and OCs that we have all made.

Actually impossible because they are fan games.
*buuuut* people could possibly make fan games that center around the games in between the games we know ;)
Although I assume people definently won't make fan-inbetween games.
But Monokuma says it's his 53rd appearance would not make sense because the other fangames don't uses Monokumas
If that's the case Danganronpa Fandoms Calling would be even more meta lol
ua-cam.com/video/TG4vhB8nVVU/v-deo.html that would also mean dankanronpa was also a season at some point
The original Super Danganronpa Another used Monokuma.

So this has 53 versions and each game has 16 students and when we multiply it we get 848 characters
So 848 people have died including the mastermind in Danganronpa
Interesting
Are you talking about the supposed 53 "seasons" of Danganronpa?
@@winterwolfpearl5048 i think so,and that means alot of people died in the killing game and a few like 5 or 6 people survived..
But didnt danganronpa 52 ended similar If V3 ended with hope
I think they would have been more like 855/860 (totally not accurate)... I think the first seasons were fictional, but there are, I guess, also seasons were they lose and all die...versions for example where the masterminds win in the end, or where the blackened wins the trial (does the mastermind also get executated, cause rules stayed that ONLY the blackened survives...?) it’s only a guess/a theory though...🤷🏾♂️
You have to also take into account that there people that gets punished like Rantaro participating in two or more games
Danganronpa v3: they don't want this ending
Me: I fucking love this ending.

I guess you were a part of that majority :>

hi im
I'd say the ending to DRV3 is a good example of a polarizing ending, either you love It or you hate It, there isn't much middle ground on this.
H3adHunt3r Hate to disagree but I still don't have a clear opinion on this ending, I dont hate it but don't love it either
I believe you're a rarity in the Danganronpa fanbase then. ^.^
H3adHunt3r Yeah. I hate it.

I’m sure Shuichi was pretty pissed off himself-
well technically, kaede wanted to expose the mastermind during the first class trial, since this is a re-trial, and they exposed tsumugi, kaede got what she wanted
though shuichi may claim that her death was in vain
he immediately goes back on that word when he calls out the whole rule-breaking factor and how it revealed the mastermind was sketchy and willing to do anything to keep the game alive

Lmao
That... was pretty meta and understanding.

Leon is the one explaining that a letter can actually be a number.
Oh, the irony.
Also, is Kumafarre a reference to something?
Kumafarre is a reference to the live/club house in Japan named "Nicofarre", owned by the Japanese streaming site Nico Nico Douga. The environment of the final trial also gives a nod to the interior design of Nicofarre as a whole, which has streaming text margins all across the walls of the live room, similar to the myriad of texts that occasionally appears behind the characters' sprite when they were talking!

I started to get really sad when Clair De Lune started playing, when everyone went into despair, and the fact that once Shuichi says that he can’t fight for a lie he starts to give up and it zooms in on Kaedes portrait.
