Weight vests also cut into your upper traps and require a wash every now and then.
Dip belt chains can sometimes “bite” into the fabric of your t-shirts and make little holes. It can also pinch your skin when you are not careful.

Right now I use a weighted blanket and backpack or weighted blanket and a leather belt to strap it to me. A weighted blanket is 15 lbs. I think I will get a second weighted blanket and then strap it as well to me for 30 lbs. The advantage of a weighted blanket is the weight is distributed all over the place even more so than a vest and you can sleep with it.

If you have any lower back issues or spinal issues - go with the dip belt. Weighted vests are going to be better in every other regard but they cause compression on the spine and shouldn't be worn longer than your sets. The vests are gonna distribute weight a lot better and be a lot more functional in every other area until you max out the vest.

you're attaching your weights to the weight belt incorrectly which is why you are having the imbalance problem. Assuming the chain is fixed on the left hip ring: run the chain from the left hip ring through the weight - bring the chain up from the weight through the belt ring on the right hip - then attach the carabiner to the left hip ring. Doing it this way self-centers the weight.

Idea: switch to more difficult leg exercise variations that naturally require less weight. Split squats/Pistol squats/Lunges. If you get one adjustable dumbbell up to 100 lbs and have a 65 lbs weight vest, you need no gym. Weight vest + 100 lbs dumbbell for reps on Goblet Squats and you're golden. Can get it all for probably $250. That $20/mo gym membership will go on forever, and the $250 you'll make back in a year.

When you say leg weights, do you mean ankle weights? Those are best for kick backs, side leg raises and other exercises to target glutes and hip abductors. For the standard leg exercise (squats, lunges and their many variations) I’ve found a weight vest works great if you don’t have dumbbells. You still have to go sorta high rep, but the extra resistance makes for a grueling workout and helps build mass. Hope that helps!

    Thanks for another great video!
I am nearly to the point of unassisted dips, so I have been looking into weighted dip options. While this still requires supplying your own weight, I followed Coop's advice and made my own vest - ua-cam.com/video/aVD3XZYLQ4U/v-deo.html. Right now I use it for cardio and have two 5 lb plates inside of it. That said, I used bags of sand for a weighted ruck march I did last year (I had 35lbs of sand in it), so there are cheaper interim options, too.

Weighed calisthenics... always thought that if it's weighted it's by default, not a calisthenics.

Another con of dip belts is the it can place so much pressure on the low back if you use it for high weights. Really fucked up my back today with just 65 lbs on the belt.

scuba weight belts are much more comfortable than dip belts.
