What I find so troubling with my current situation is how "good" I have it, yet I'm still so unfulfilled. Sometimes it feels as though I simply lack the proper gratitude for the life I have, yet there's still this insatiable need for "more" but I don't even know what "more" is or if it's coming from a healthy spot.

Yet I find a part of me recoiling at the thought of doing what I'm doing for the next few decades. Nick,
I have know this since 1988 at my age of 22. I have been constantly told to “do as the Romans do”, to “play the game” to reap the “rewards” by doing those things, but in attempting to do that, I’ve not been in alignment with my authenticity in all that time. It took an ex-girlfriend to say, “I know who I am” - which was what I had been saying in all my time to my family - after she left our relationship, for me to dig deeper and to investigate what “who I am” meant in the heart and soul in that deeper level. I found that we as a culture are too busy with the ‘doing’ instead of connecting with what is truly in our hearts and naturally emanating from there.
Now, I am reconnecting with my authenticity in order to bring about my true alignment: that is, I start matching my authentic behaviours with my true self, my true essence.
It has been a emotional journey and it is continuing.
Thank you for your enlightened video. 🙏

As life goes...all three have passed. The last Sifu taught me for 20 years. In that time...I was fortunate enough to become a teacher myself. I have been incredibly blessed with great teaches and mentors. The Virus has not been helpful in the past months. But I'm always open to new experiences and information to continue pursing the Path. Most recently...I've stumbled onto a wonderful opportunity on line. Master Gu of Wudang Mountain in China has on-line study courses which I appreciate. Not able to travel there yet. But what a find. I went through severe poverty in my childhood. So it is understood that such a life was without my will and guilt. It was a very difficult period that I barely survived. An easy life can make us sluggish, unmotivated, it can make us numb, but if we keep reality in our head, then it's okay to live comfortably, in the luxus of civilization. For some, poverty brings enlightenment and frees them from the excess burden created by possessions, and for some it is just an additional burden that they should not carry. I was stuck in that idea of productivity sacrificing my health cause I wanted to achieve more and do more. Past year I realized taking care of my body it is important but back that time I wasn't feeling completely "fine" I needed to pay attention to my mental health.
I started my therapeutic process at february this year and my therapist and I are working on what's important for me, what are my own values... I noticed I internalized all those ideas related to productivity but that's not the life I want to live.. now I am practicing on recognize what I really want and being coungruent with it even if its not what the world say you should do.

I think this book is really eye opening. from birth we are leaving our nature to get approvl from the people around us . When you are in integrity(or alignment with yr soul) and make the voice in yr head shut up(culture) and listen to yr heart and soul and body(feelings manifest in the body and are telling you are in or out of alignment.

I truly believe that we can find alignment through our own silence. Into our own silence we can expose who really we are... From that point we can reflect in our own mistakes, and other aspects...., Then, with a transparent and honest heart will begin a genuine process necessary to modify in all those vulnerable areas of ourselves. That is for me... "Our own alignment attached to those practical principles worthy to apply for an authentic life"!

I am just glad I still have time to do my own alignment. I am 42years old and been beating myself of my past wrong decisions and wrong attitude from my career life. "I thought I did was best, I thought I had the answers, I thought I chose the surest road but that road brought me here" - from my favorite song. I am so broken hearted and can't find ways how to move forward. But I know I will get there and I know I can start again a new career someday soon.
