I remember when I'm a kid my dad used to hold me in my head to lift me for no reason. Now that I'm an adult I wish there is someone out there big enough to do the same to me for neck traction purposes.
Maybe lay on a hard floor (wood or laminate) and have someone pull you by your head across the floor. I pull my husband by his feet (for sciatica) down the hall then grab his arms and pull/drag the other way, back and forth about 10 times. It decompresses his back and takes away his lower back pain instantly, no pain pills needed. He's good for a few months then have to repeat.
@@j.m.7545 Honestly you sound like you have a wonderful marriage. He's lucky to have you!!! My wonderful husband will do anything to keep me out of pain and vice versa
I bought an inflatable neck device last week. I’ve been using it everyday for 5 minutes and cannot recommend it enough. Not one pain killer in 9 days! Says it all really. Great video buddy.
I saw that one online, and the mechanical lay down one for about 199.00. It's looking like the best and the last one he showed for close to the same price 30-40 bucks.
The inflatable neck donut thing is amazing. I've had this for a while too, I don't use it every day but I find it actually improves my posture after using it for 5-10 minutes. It really seems to take pressure off my upper back so I can stay more upright when at my desk.
I went from the hammock to the inflatable and I found the inflatable works quite well. The over the door does look like it might work better but the inflatable is much quicker to use. Great while watching tv.
I have severe cervical compression. I bought both over the door traction device and the inflatable device. Both are good and slightly different in the relief they deliver. They don't cure but they do give some temporary relief and that's make them worth the money. I think it is good to have both as they each have advantages.
I had one of the inflatable neck traction collars and if you have a fat neck it'll strangle you. I have that door traction Device and use it every day. I have scoliosis and arthritis and it really helps . I'd give it 5 stars. Well worth the money.
Thanks very much for this. Consider that, if you do this a few times a week or a day, you are increasing the blood circulation to your joints, thus their ability to repair or maintain themselves, which has been impeded by lessened blood flow due to compression. That is according to a spine surgeon I consulted who told me my neck was a mess, but not bad enough to risk operation, and that he believed that getting my neck stretched by a chiropractor regularly (using a towel to pull my neck back for 30 secs at a time) would help maintain and repair to some extent the deteriorated joints. So, my partner does this for me and it is really effective at the time, and, if we do it often, over time. But I'm looking for a device to do it in between, since partner not always available.
Iuc inflatable neck traction device in between osteopath visits. It does bring me some relief without having to resort to pain killers. I wouldn't recommend using it as a net question on a flight though. Anyone who's used an inflatable travel pillow would have noticed even the slightest drop in altitude or cabin pressure will cause the air inside to expand so that could be kind of dangerous with the traction device.
In Colorado my chiropractor uses the over the door device for me. Its a more professional one. But basically the same type. I have issues with my C5-C6 and it helps me ALOT. I ordered one for home use. Just trying to delay and avoid surgery. Thanks for the video.
You are out of sight with your straight forward analysis. Appreciate it so much. Now I have to figure out how the hell I get my money back for the hammock unit. I absolutely love your forthright heads up reviews thank you sir
The inflatable neck device works wonders especially for people who sit at a deck all day and have neck and shoulder tension. The strength of the neck gave me some much needed relief to the back of my neck. I felt a release of pressure from my neck and spine.
For neck traction, I use my pillow, use force to make a curve that can fit on my neck. I just lie down and place my neck on pillow then position my neck wherein I feel most comfortable. I don't know about other people but I feel relieve on my neck which can be compared to what neck traction's purpose. I also use lumbar back traction but I have proper equipment for that.
I use the 4th device but without the door part. I use overhead beam. I suffered neck and shoulder pain due to pinched nerve as diagnose by a doctor for a few years. Use the device 30 minutes daily for first few days then every alternate days, after a week the pain no longer there. I would recommend the over the door device it cost me less than10 dollar US online from China.

Firstly thanks again for your order of 10 necksaviour Minis via the Kickstarter campaign two years ago. Sorry to see this less than favourable recent review of necksaviour Mini. necksaviour was born out of the desire to replicate manual occipital traction that patients love and find so therapeutic in clinic. Your review was negative for what appeared to be 2 main reasons: 1. necksaviour Mini wasn’t comfortable The version you reviewed was from 2 years ago and necksaviour Minis now have softer outer layers. Also as you know as a clinician, sometimes short term discomfort can be necessary to be therapeutic in the longer term e.g. trigger point release. Many neck pain and headache sufferers can be tender in the upper cervical spine and occipital region. This is why sub occipital blocks sell and some people gain significant relief from them. A period of desensitisation and a graduated increase in use is often all that is needed. We genuinely feel any trigger point release effect is actually an added benefit of necksaviour. 2. You also felt necksaviour didn’t deliver much traction force. We had the forces tested with a specially constructed jig in the engineering department at The University of Hertfordshire so the forces they deliver are unequivocal. I have a theory about why you feel more traction with the inflatable and over the door devices J I think it’s because you feel the head being lifted when you are upright which it doesn’t have to be when supine (and already relaxed). On that same point non-supine devices have to overcome the weight of the head before they get to the starting point of the decompression that supine devices do. As the developer of necksaviour I’m sure you’ll think I’m one dimensional in my opinion about which product is best but genuinely I’m a big believer that different things suit different people. Not all patients respond in exactly the same way to treatment or medication so why would one product suit all? Having said that I do have some criticisms of the 2 devices you preferred in the review. The inflatable device gives me the same feeling of light headedness that it gave you. I’m not as young as you but I’m pretty healthy and it bothers me a little that it has that affect and worries me more for the elderly or those with underlying atherosclerosis. During the development of necksaviour you can imagine how many studies I read regarding cervical traction! As a result one thing I feel strongly about with the ‘over the door traction devices’ is that for a very significant number of neck pain and headache patients, delivering the kind of forces required to overcome the weight of the head and decompress the cervical spine via the TMJ is undesirable. Very often this patient group are teeth clenchers and TMJ sufferers too. We have had a notable number of people say they lost their TMJ pain with necksaviour use. Can’t say for sure why that would be but adds weight to the theory that they can be closely linked. Again without sounding biased!...there are a number of other advantages I believe necksaviours have. The arrangement of the contact points creates a desirable degree of chin retraction which is lost for so many people with poor posture these days. When we demonstrate at exhibitions some people don’t feel a great deal at the time they are trying necksaviours but much more when sitting up after a few minutes of using them. Completely understand the review is your own objective opinion on the products but as a fellow clinician I thought I’d share these thoughts and points with you. As I say no single product will suit everybody but we have had an enormous number of fantastic testimonials and have won 3 design excellence awards including a medical one. Happy to discuss any clinical points or aspects of using necksaviours.
I will give an honest independent 3rd party review from a non clinician everyday average Joe with neck pain, stiff neck, sore neck and an occasional bulging disc which causes an inability to turn my head without rotating my shoulders. I have not watched this review or any review if your product. I came to read reviews as I have purchased the inflatable unit and it has not arrived. I will give yours and the inflatable device a head to head honest review. I am absolutely 100% unbiased and will evaluate your device while being mindful of your overview of your device in your response. I do not have a large following on UA-cam as I just really started utilizing the platform. I do however have upwards of 20k followers on Twitter, 1000+ on TikTok, 5000+ on IG. I would also give my opinion of using them in tandem to see if they may compliment each other in different positions (supine, fowlers and sitting). I appreciate the work you put into your device in an effort to provide relief to pain patients as opposed to prescribing opiates and counting your money. Your passion for your product shines through and your response was extremely informative and knowledgeable in an effort to somewhat compare apples to apples. I think I could provide a dynamic review from my experience which at the end of the day is my experience and that I don't believe either has zero merit and results will vary between individuals, their issues and commitment to giving the devices a thorough and honest opportunity to work as intended. DM me if there's any interest in my proposal. Cheers!
Thank you. You did a great job on this video. It answers the questions I had regarding the neck traction. I would like to know which one is best for reversed curvature of the neck.
3:59 Hehe. Velcro is in the US too. But since that's a brand name, many say "hook-and-loop" because it's like calling all tissue "Kleenex" or something.
A colleague, who was involved in a vehicle accident and also suffers from migraines, used the inflatable device and reported significant relief from neck pain and migraines. Unfortunately, the quality of the Chinese made device leaves much to be desired and split open on the second use. I have no idea if there are different brands available.
@@abab1247 For me it's relaxing but has not resolved symptoms. From what I have seen and read on the internet that traction like this helps a certain type of injury to the Cervical area. I still will use it just to help manage symptoms. I recommend the Cervical Orthotic Traction block off of Amazon. Cheaper and also performs traction and assists in neck curve restoring. This in hopes of reducing or resolving symptoms. Mine are not resolved and flare up multiple times a day but just not as severe.
Thank you for this. It was very helpful. We use the words Velcro and Hook and Loop in the States. Both descriptions are commonly used. (You had the Foam Pad Turned the wrong way on top of the Door.) Again, thanks.
Really need to compare the over the door to lay down models. A lot of us want to hear wether it does or can crack and pop our necks and how much pounds of force they can exert. I want one that can hurt a bit. That way I know its real. Then back off to the proper amount. Great job regardless. Thank you for your service. By the way. Ever noticed that bones in our heads, chest and pelvis areas are letters inscribed in ancient stone, that form words and phrases in ancient lexicons? If not then the rest would amaze you.
Thanks for your comment Jerel. I'm sure it is possible for either the inflatable or door models to elicit some pops. However you may struggle from traction alone. Normally to click the neck you need to add multiple angles. I'm sure you'll still feel some benefit from it either way though. Best wishes, Ashley. P.s. No I have never come across these inscriptions... maybe you can tell me more.
@@PrecisionWellbeing I was told by a chiropractor with a computer that the curvature of my neck is the exact opposite of what it should be. Good call on angeling. I had bad upper back pain for years till i developed a technique where I angle my back, creating pressure points, when sneezing or heavy coughing. I push my head down. It uses my lungs like hands, cracking my back from the inside. Got the idea from bruce lee at the zoo and isometrics. Though i collapsed a half dozen times for about a week. Drs tests showed i had a ton of calcium going though my system. Then things were back to normal. I messaged what looks like your facebook page. Would be easier and quite frankly necessary to show my notes also.
I found that the over-the-door traction device cuts a lot into the throat. That can't be adjusted. Very uncomfortable. I like the traction though. I have two bulging discs and facet degeneration.

Thank you! My inflatable one got a leak after only two days. I noticed it helped me as I was using it. Too bad I lost trust in the product after the leak. I returned it and never got a replacement.
@@PrecisionWellbeing Thank you for responding. Currently I am shopping around for a good traction device. I will look into your over the door option (the ones I have seen on Amazon don't have good reviews- hard to use, hurt the jaw, etc..). As it stands, I just do stretches. I also lie down and try to stretch out my body by elongating it (like in yoga savasana). I am not sure if that helps. I have bulging in c4-c5, c5-c6, c6-c7. I am living with constant neck and shoulder pain. I am developing muscle atrophy in both arms, forearms, and hands. I am losing strength in both thumbs and the thumb joints are wearing down because of too much strain. I am considering PT traction (don't have insurance coverage).
By the way, my neurologist did not believe I had pinched nerves and didn't think the muscle loss was due to the neck problem. He recommended stretches and traction. I am in the process of seeing another neurologist. I have stopped swimming due to Covid (was swimming once a week for 1/2 hour. So not sure if muscle loss is due to lack of exercise, I am trying weights, but I can't do it regularly due to neck pain).

@Precision Wellbeing Group Thank you for getting back to me . No not at all , there's a bulging disc in my neck and maybe made it worse , it came to the point where I had pain and difficulty moving my jaws , my orthopedic doctor told me to stay away from such devices , so I did
Really great video.many thanks.! I have the neck cushion but it always irritates the muscles in the middle of my upper back after a few minutes use so I end up taking it off - maybe I'm just cranking it up too much? It certainly makes you stand up more 'soldier like' afterwards so it's got to be useful for people with poor posture.
I wonder what would happen on the door device if one of the cord attached to the metal "y" brace were to break while it is under tension? I hope the metal bar wouldn't come down and hit you on the head as that might be bad.
I'd probably skip that last one. I live by myself and don't know anyone that would come over just to watch me do that and there's no way I would risk doing that by myself.
Excelent! Is there something similar to decompress the middle part of the spine? The last machine helps with that or is more focus on the neck area?.... Thank you so much!
I bought that exact neck pillow you had the one I had before it deflated and it was no longer usable but it was a much better device,I tried to find another one just like it and the one you have was the update version and it's crap the velcro straps will not hold and it's cheaply made and it takes forever to inflate it because of the cheap pump
I like your review. I had one of the inflatable ones and it worked ok but then developed a leak so you would have to keep pumping it up. That got a bit old. I have thought to devise something like the overhead style but figured that I would likely hang myself. I think I will order that one. my chiropractor says that my skull sort of crushes down on the top of my spine and she will regularly pull my head but obviously I can't go see her everyday. well so anyway, thank you for this informative and quite thorough review
You're most welcome Jenkins! Glad you enjoyed the review. I hope your neck is doing better now. Let me know how it went with the new device. Best wishes, Ashley.

What a well informed response to the negative review. It’s caused me to look into your product. Thank you.
Cheers!
Thanks for saving me buying these
You're welcome. I'm glad you found the video insightful. Best wishes, Ashley.
I’ve got forward head posture for about 25 years. I’m 41 now. Can I correct this and what device is best?
Nice video. I have the inflatable cushion device and absolutely love it!
That's great to hear @planecrazyish! I hope you continue to make improvements. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thank you. You did a great job on this video. It answers the questions I had regarding the neck traction.
I would like to know which one is best for reversed curvature of the neck.
thank you for your presentation.I' ve tried all of them, but the last one was better than for me .
That's great to hear Majid! I hope your recovery process is coming along well. Best wishes, Ashley.
Awesome video tutorial. It was just what I was looking for. Thanks very much. Extremely helpful.
Thank you Peter I'm glad you found it helpful. Best wishes, Ashley
Got the inflatable. Thanks for the conformation
Thank you so much! Glad you found the video helpful. Do let me know how it goes with the exercises. Best wishes, Ashley.
3:59 Hehe. Velcro is in the US too. But since that's a brand name, many say "hook-and-loop" because it's like calling all tissue "Kleenex" or something.
Thanks for that clarification @Pollo Frito. I hope the review was helpful. Best wishes, Ashley.
@@PrecisionWellbeing Very much so. Thank you.
I have been using the Neck Cloud for my cervical vertigo.
thank you so much - you helped me a lot. I not only have a sports injury in my neck but also massive migraines. Hope this would help!
You're welcome. I hope it helps too. Let me know how you get on. Best wishes, Ashley
A colleague, who was involved in a vehicle accident and also suffers from migraines, used the inflatable device and reported significant relief from neck pain and migraines. Unfortunately, the quality of the Chinese made device leaves much to be desired and split open on the second use. I have no idea if there are different brands available.
Irish ☘️ if you want to know what has worked on my journey for migraines and headaches let me know.
Review Saunders Cervical Traction or Comfort Trac. They are $350-400 on amazon. I have the Comfort Trac. Interested in your opinion of either. Thanks!
Does it work or help?
@@abab1247 For me it's relaxing but has not resolved symptoms. From what I have seen and read on the internet that traction like this helps a certain type of injury to the Cervical area. I still will use it just to help manage symptoms. I recommend the Cervical Orthotic Traction block off of Amazon. Cheaper and also performs traction and assists in neck curve restoring. This in hopes of reducing or resolving symptoms. Mine are not resolved and flare up multiple times a day but just not as severe.
@@nrp5791 thank you for your feedback. I'll check it out on amazon.
Love this video! I however had to laugh at “hook and loop”… in the states it is definitely still Velcro 😂
Hahaha. Thank you. I am glad to hear that you love the video. I hope it is helpful to you. Best wishes, Ashley.
We call in Velcro in the states too :)
Thanks for that clarification Nate! Best wishes, Ashley.
Thank you for this. It was very helpful.
We use the words Velcro and Hook and Loop in the States. Both descriptions are commonly used.
(You had the Foam Pad Turned the wrong way on top of the Door.)
Again, thanks.
Thanks for that @ShelliesMan! Glad you found the video informative. Best wishes, Ashley.
In Pennsylvania I've only ever heard people call it velcro
Thanks a lot was looking into buying the neck hammock
Will now get the inflatable one 👍
You're most welcome. Glad you found the video informative. Best wishes, Ashley.
@Precision Wellbeing how long and how often should we use the traction devices?
I used a noose in the backward way at a chiropractor. Worked very well. I don't know if it was an authentic one.
If it works for you then keep at it. Best wishes, Ashley

I was told by a chiropractor with a computer that the curvature of my neck is the exact opposite of what it should be.
Can these devices also help back neck posture ?
I found that the over-the-door traction device cuts a lot into the throat. That can't be adjusted. Very uncomfortable. I like the traction though. I have two bulging discs and facet degeneration.
Why didn't I come across this video until after I've just ordered a Neck Hammock? Ah well, I'll let you know how it goes.
Which one worked best for you?
How did it go?
We too call it Velco in the US
That last one was like “Please don’t hang yourself” 😀
In all seriousness, good reviews. Wife has a bulging disc and looking for a good decompression unit.
Thank you @NG Muzik! I'm glad you found the video informative. I hope you managed to find the right device for your wife. Wishing you both all the best. Best wishes, Ashley.
Did she end up getting better or finding relief? If so how
Thank you! My inflatable one got a leak after only two days. I noticed it helped me as I was using it. Too bad I lost trust in the product after the leak. I returned it and never got a replacement.
Hi Sherry,
That's unfortunate to hear but at least it helped with your pain temporarily. What are you using now? Best wishes, Ashley.
Which one is best?
We call it velcro in the states. I've never heard it referred to as the hook and loop. Thank you for the video, btw!
You're most welcome @Cyn's Corner ! Glad you found the video informative. Best wishes, Ashley.
*_great comparison review! I found a good deal on the hanging neck traction device. Let me know if you want the link._*
Feel free to post it here. Best wishes, Ashley
Nice Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Chireetler Legs Shaping Rule (google it)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for unearthing the hidden method to increase your penis size minus the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my cooworker after a lifetime of fighting got great success with it.
hi id like the link for the hanging neck traction device. thanks. i dont need the link from carmen alicia such a troll
4:00 I think we call it velcro in the US as well. I don't recall it being called hook and loop
Shall I use this for cervical vertigo
Thank you. This was helpful! Do you know how these would compare to the posture pump?
This was a very helpful video, thank you.
You're most welcome! Glad to hear the video was helpful. Best wishes, Ashley.
Thanks for the informative overview! Do these devices provide any long term help with cervical stenosis or more of an immediate relief from lesser conditions?
What are you what are your credentials?
Hi @A butterfly,
Please check out my credentials, specialty and overview of profession at ua-cam.com/video/6MHGd2qtFzU/v-deo.html. I hope this answers your question. Best wishes, Ashley.
Which over the door traction hammock do you recommend?
The inflatable neck traction device helped alot with my neck pain but its starting to cause jaw pain its pressing on it
Any advice ?
In the states we call it Velcro as well
Thanks for letting me know. Best wishes, Ashley.
check out the Pettibon Traction unit that you hang over a door, its the best!!
Thanks for the suggestion @Posture Doc. Will definitely try it out. Best wishes, Ashley.
I subscribed because of your honesty
Thank you Kovan! Glad to hear you found the video helpful. Welcome to the PWG channel. Please let me know if there is anything in particular you'd like to see me tackle. Best wishes, Ashley.
@@PrecisionWellbeing I’ll for sure thank you
Really helpful, thanks for this. Good honest comparison & testing.
Thank you Andy, best wishes, Ashley
A device similar to the inflatable neck pillow generated immense amount of pain in my right jaw and in my right ear .
Hi Nidal,
That sounds awful! So sorry to hear that. I hope you stopped using it after that experience. Have you tried another device so far? Best wishes, Ashley.
@Precision Wellbeing Group
Thank you for getting back to me .
Plzzzz dr reply I have accute neck pain
I started using my infamable neck traction today and hoping for a positive feedback
Have you noticed any progress so far? Let me know. Best Wishes, Ashley
Great video, I am worried if you pump up the neck race too much you break your neck?
Thank you for this useful review!
You're most welcome Luis! I hope it helps. Best wishes, Ashley.
I wonder what would happen on the door device if one of the cord attached to the metal "y" brace were to break while it is under tension? I hope the metal bar wouldn't come down and hit you on the head as that might be bad.
So what were you saying about the inflatable traction device? I have strokes in my family....
What is inflatables device for?
I'd probably skip that last one. I live by myself and don't know anyone that would come over just to watch me do that and there's no way I would risk doing that by myself.
That's probably a good idea haha! Wishing you the best, Ashley.
If you do the velcro straps up too tight in the middle it makes it real hard to breath. I wouldn't want to pass out with it on.
Saunders Cervical traction unit is the best
Excelent! Is there something similar to decompress the middle part of the spine? The last machine helps with that or is more focus on the neck area?.... Thank you so much!
Inversion table
Is their any chance you could do a video about Massage guns ?

Hi Kenny,
Please check out my review of massage guns at ua-cam.com/video/UoGNe-P7t2g/v-deo.html. Let me know if this is helpful. Best wishes, Ashley.
Anyone know anything about Disc Centers of America and their de-compression machines ?
What if you combined the lying down with the inflatable neck traction pillow + the neck hammock in neutral position
I'm sure you could try that. I'm not sure how much extra traction that would give you though. If you try it let me know how you get on. Best wishes, Ashley
Im starting to see a slight hump on the back of my neck and I have forward head posture.I have one of those posture correctors that go around your back. Will this inflatable neck one help with that?
Hi Shane,
Thank you for your question. I do have a video about neck humps that you can check out for more information on this at ua-cam.com/video/904YlMa_nGY/v-deo.html. Please let me know if this helps. Best wishes, Ashley.
I have chronic muscle pain. I have been consuming medicines for a long time but nothing seems to work. Can I use the inflated neck traction device for temporary relief ?

Does the 3rd device help to get longer neck?
Thank you so much for the video, very useful information (liked and subscribed!)...but now the million dollar question:
Can neck traction really improve at all any neck condition (spinal stenosis in my case)?
Thanks again!
From the states. It’s not hook and loop thts so far off. It’s Velcro
What would you suggest for someone who has a bit of a reverse curve pushing the head forward. I’m looking for at home devices to help fix the curve
Can this help with a heirnated disc
I was asking for the neck traction by the way
