jasonricci Thank YOU. Just watched- Great stuff! (last name is Earl)
Snapper Earl These are actually live videos from a full length album (already finished) coming our in Spring of 2015! Thanks SNAPPER!
My only slight criticism subjectively would be, the gestalt of the song sets the rhythms and pace of notes, chords, etc. Most of the time Ricci plays what the song requires, but when he sneaks those lightning licks in, it feels out of step, out of character, just as if the singer suddenly doubled tempo into some rap verse. Sonny Terry alternated verse and accompaniment for decades with Brownie McGhee, and he did not find it necessary to add all his fast tricks in the bridge of every tune. I believe the trick is to always leave the audience slightly wanting something more, believing you are holding a bit back.
That was me holding back! HAaaa Thanks for watching.
@@jasonricci You're welcome, LOL. I appreciate your efforts and time devoted to the lowly harp, and realize once we get beyond certain fine points, we're really dealing with nuances that reflect our own tastes and never any demeaning of another's skills.
