Hi Linda! My scarf keeps rolling in on itself. I thought I would be safe from this happening because of the different stitches. Do you think I should block it or am I out of luck?
I don't understand how hers is so flat. Maybe its a different style of yarn. I used a cheap acrylic as its my first time practicing lace patterns. Maybe I'm knitting too tight? I wish there was a way for me to share a pic
can someone explain what edge means like do we knit it those first two stitches? do we knit them together? do we purl them? do we transfer them? somebody please tell me I am so lost
If you are knitting a square, like she is doing here, the edge means the first one. That`s my understanding of it :D She don`t knit it, just lifts it over to the needle she knits with.
The first stitch of each row is simply slipped on to the right needle then you start with the pattern. It is supposed to give a neater appearance at the edge of the work.
@@emankhurram Yes, almost! On the "right side" of the work she is slipping, or "moving", The first stitch and then knitting the last stitch. On the "wrong side" of the work she is slipping the first stitch but purling the last stitch. Hope this helps!
@@dannydenenberg Thank you for explaining this. The last edge is what was confusing to me. The rest of the pattern abbreviations are fine but 'edge' can mean anything depending on what you knit. You have helped so much!
it's just a purl stitch worked in norwegian style, you can just purl in your preferred style. the on-screen instructions lay out exactly what the stitch is.
I think it’s because she doesn’t ‘throw’ the yarn like traditional knitters. This is more like a continental style of knitting so it looks very different to some.
Talking is distracting if it’s in a foreign language. Try to follow a demonstration in Hindi or in Russian=. Large European yarn companies are silent in their demo’s so all languages can see and follow/understand the pattern.
You know as a beginner to knit patterns beyond the basics, I feel compelled to say that if you are too lazy to include sound to your tutorial, don't bother uploading your work.
@Lady Jane Funny, I'm a beginner and I find it easier to follow the written instructions and watch the movements. I do write down the instructions so I don't have to replay the video again and again. And she's very clear here. And like noblumoon says, maybe she doesn't speak English 🤷🏽 I'm just grateful she made an effort to share this beautiful pattern.
If you are too lazy, or too cheap to pay for classes with a teacher who will cater only to YOUR way of learning, then don't disparage people who are doing this for free. Sometimes, instead of being 'compelled' to put someone down, you might feel compelled to just scroll on by. I can't believe the entitlement. :(
I loved the fact that there was no talking and I followed the pattern just fine. Keep up the good work!
Took me several attempts to get this right. Happy with 28 stitches + 4 for edges. This is now my go to pattern for spa cloths! Love this pattern!
Thank you for sharing this video! Its nice to watch how you knit without hearing any sound. I can concentrate more and can easily follow.
Lovely pattern; thank you for sharing! Very easy to follow video; love the silence!
Thank you so very much for this beautiful pattern. Your tutorial was so very easy to follow, your a very good teacher.
Wow so beautiful
Very beautiful✨✨✨❤❤
What type of thread/yarn is used in the samples?
What is this stitch called? Im new knitter and this is beautiful but it is a little to hard to keep up.
I do not know the name, You can make the video slower in the settings
@@knittedideas3057 can't yu do this in a normal way.
How would you knit this in the round? I would love to make a hat with this pattern?🙏🏼
Me too!
Love this pattern. One quick question, what’s the difference between ssk and k2tog? Thank you.
Are those same stitches , but at different sides?
I’m a beginner knitter and had no trouble following this, thanks for the beautiful pattern!
Row 1: edge, *p2, k2, yo, k1, ssk*, p2, edge
Row 2: edge, k2, *p5, k2*, edge
Row 3: edge, *p2, k2tog, k1, yo, k2*, p2, edge
Row 4: edge, k2, *p5, k2*, edge
I like that it was so easy to adapt to in the round for sock tops. Thank you.

@@chloegervais9121 Never hurts to block and if you're lucky it'll 'remember'.
When you make it in the round, do you just do multiples of 7? Thanks
@@rubyfisch5077 I do sincerely apologize. I've made hundreds of things since I posted this and at this time I don't even remember what I made!

transfer the yarn without knitting to the other needle. That’s what she meant by Edge!!

@@krislyon1745 in knitting lace, I thought all stitches are slipped knitwise?
What does multiple of 7+2 +2 edge mean? You cast on 18, so you have 7×2+4?
For your darker sample, how many did you cast on?
Was it 32 or 39?
Isn't the last two of the design two knit together??it says purl 2(after the repeat
This is so pretty... but is there someone talking because I am not hearing voice!!!
She wrote the instructions at the bottom
Very well explained. Thankyou
It's very beautiful!!!
See the pictures, read instructions I have no problem follow her. My turn out very beautiful, thank you 🙏
I can't get row 3 to work... i end up on a k2tog before the edge.... tried so many times! 😣 (cast on 25)
I just knit 35 for 7 multiple 5+2+2=39
not bad But
can’t do edge like that so I knit both edge and I cast on and 2 row knit first before 4 rows
Don’t give up, I did so many times, finally look good
She said 5+2+2..I think
Ur cast on number is wrong ??why25??where r the 2+2??more
Can I do this on super bulky yarn?
it is better to knit from a thinner yarn
How are you doing the edges?
The edge is made by slipping the stich purl wise. This means you insert your needle as if to purl but then just slip it on to the second needle.
@@dannydenenberg it looks like she moves the first stitch over and then knits the last stitch - is that right??

Mine is curling in, I suppose I should just block it when its done.
Where can I purchase the pattern
Can anyone post a link for the edge? The rest of the pattern I can follow.
She seems to slip the first stitch purlwise, so just move it from one needle to the next, then she purls the very last stitch on each row
This is lovely thank you 😊
That so beautiful.
Could I please have the written pattern
My piece keeps curling. Is there a way that I can get it to NOT curl? Would it help if I put a garter border on both sides?
A boarder would probably help some. But most importantly with lace knitting it may be necessary to block it after finishing to get the right look :)
It's very beautiful design and easy to follow. Thank you the demonstration.
Thank you!
dude you're going so fasttt like even if i play the video at 0.25x your fingers are covering the work
Same here!!!! Esp the first part at 1:01 i had to keep rrwinding to that part a million times but still found that part quick at 0.25 speed 😔

P2??what does that mean maam
Purl stich 2 times
And was it purl3to finish first row!!if so bdy Cud talk here pls!!there r overconfident people..but no explaination
Thank you for sharing 🦸♀️👩🔧
I fthia is continental style what about the English if this English what about other style of knitting I don't hold thread like this Lil confusing
I dont get it. 1.) Is it longtail or slip knot? 2.) Do you really mean row 1? Looks like row 2 not row 1. Also it looked like you did p3 k2 not p2k2
Might be easy but I can not hear a voice over? Difficult to follow without one...
Without someone talking through this I found it hard to follow and didn’t even bother starting 🥺
@tina rmeileh it looks lovely I will attempt it at some point 😃
The yarn seems more cotton less woollen ..no details given
Try looking for lace stitches on Johannes Web. She provides all details
This isn't normal knitting sorry!!can't do same

I wish so eday I do same soon exact same
Neat!!
Icant manage the speed it goes
You can slow down UA-cam in the settings
Thank you
Indian number ??kneedle!!?12/13
Edge is unclear!!!!
All your stitching style must be same😕
Talking would be nice
